I have very fond memories of this place. Whenever my dad got stationed at other military bases, we stayed in TLFs until housing was ready. But when he got stationed to Hickam, we stayed here. I don't know how long it was, but it felt like months, and the grounds always felt enormous.
Hi Mariam, it was great to bump into you earlier today. Your vlogs are very helpful, and we booked a couple of our tours through your links! Hope to visit Hawaii and to see you again! Mahalo!
Great memories! I have never been much of a drinker but in the Navy reserves, we were fortunate to have visited the Barefoot bar here on all our trips to the islands.
Not at all!! 😊 Glad you said hi! I was on a mission to get to the CaliVibes Beach Club food ASAP haha. So good to meet you, made my day!! Thank you so much for watching my videos! 🤙🏽
It is! With all the greenery, you almost don't realize you're in the hustle & bustle of Waikiki. I'm so glad the wireless mic could pick up the sound of the birds chirping haha
@@YestoHawaii Aloha, yes it rained just about every day BUT you don’t shovel rain;) we still had a wonderful time, The USS Arizona was amazing, the Magic Show with Mark Mauricio was beyond AMAZING and the Hale Koa Luau was stunning and was dedicated with a candlelight ceremony to our fallen Brothers and Sisters in Arms. As a Vietnam Veteran I was moved in ways I didn’t realize I still felt. I’m going back in September to be with Men and Women like me. Oh and I did get to swim in The Pacific Ocean where I once swam when I was 18 years old. Damn memories;) MaHalo for your videos
We really enjoyed staying here - being able to be in such a great location for such an affordable price. The rooms we were in were dated, but well kept and we had a view of the ocean. And those steps from the street to the actual hotel were a trial lolololol
Riiiiight?!? I totally forgot about the awkwardly spaced stairs...until we were mid-filming. We were taking GIANT steps to try to be more level while we were filming haha
Thank you for the tour. It would have been nice if you had walked out to the edge of the hotel to show the beach area as well. My family and I will be staying at the Hale Koa later this year, so the tour of the grounds came in handy...thanks again. Love the channel.
Great idea! I might start adding an extended version of the video. It's a toss up between keeping the video long enough to be value filled but not super long where people don't want to watch the entire one. But, I might make a separate section of a more detailed hotel walkthrough with that!
The grounds & restaurant are open to the public. To stay in the hotel rooms has some restrictions. Here's the link to Hale Koa's site for full eligibility that has the full list: www.halekoa.com/about-hale-koa-hotel/eligibility
I'm glad you found value in this free video! 😊I currently do this channel part-time, rather than as a full-time UA-camr. Happy to check out hotel rooms in the hotel series but of course...that would require either booking a room myself ($$$) or setting aside a few hours on a day off to schedule a room tour + edits. I feel like transparency is important so when you've worked 40+ hours at a full-time job (that isn't UA-cam)....there are only a few hours left each week that isn't already taken up with social, general tasks (laundry, groceries, etc), and so forth. In the future when this becomes full-time, absolutely!

Riiight? I liked how there's so much greenery, kind of like a mini oasis in the hustle & bustle of Waikiki
Wow!
That place has transformed dramatically over 30 years! Lol

Been there absolutely amazing.
Mahalo!
Beautiful courtyard and I like the pool area by the beach. Seems nice and quiet. 👍

With such a positive video like this, you make my day :)

The awkward stairs are like that for elderly and disabled, enough room for a walker, shallow height, and short strides.
🤙🏼
Heading there in a couple of weeks. Will be nice to get out of the cold and embrace the warmth, again;)
Hope you folks had a great time! Our February was super rainy. Yikes

Are you planning on doing one for the Hilton Hawaii Village soon?

A mobility scooter or a moped-scooter?
Thanks

Beautiful property/hotel!
Oh man, I hate stairs like that! I never would’ve checked out Hale Koa on my own. Thanks for showing us around 😃
