- What an AMAZING Trout stream! Dad and I did some Trout fishing in a BEAUTIFUL stream. We used Trout spinners to catch some really nice Trout. We covered a lot of water and caught a lot of fish. We caught stocked Brook Trout and stocked Rainbow Trout. We also caught some Native Brook Trout. We kept some stocked Trout to eat. We released all of the Native Brook Trout that we caught. It was an absolute blast! This is one of the most beautiful streams I have ever fished. This is one of my absolute favorite types of fishing. You get to see a lot of beautiful scenery and fish water most people never fish. I love fishing water that is off the beaten path. Trout fishing with spinners is a very fun and exciting way to catch Trout. It's very active and the Trout CRUSH spinners. There are so many beautiful Trout streams out there. Get out there and fish!

I bought my first fly rod 1 week ago and went up to the La Veta area in Colorado and slayed the trout mostly on little size 10 hook Adams
I got the Eagle Claw fly rod starter combo it comes in 4 pieces 4 or 5 weight with 6 flies, nippers, line straighter, split shots, indicators, and a handy dandy DVD. Great for get started but reel is kinda cheap
Sitting at the stream with a bucket of nightcrawlers, for rainbows.
Father and son fishing together, doesn’t get any better than that 👍🏻

Small dry flies on light fly rod wading upstream on small rivers/streams. I like spinning and small lures too, and that's how I got started on fly fishing, because I much prefer stalking and hunting fish over sitting in one place and waiting. I enjoyed your vid - thanks!

I love that green panther!!! Not big enough creeks around my area to run lures that size I wish tho. Spinners are my obsession lol may hit the au sable river Sunday but lake st. Clair musky trolling and smallmouth jigging in the morning!

The blade design is much better. You can pulled it through the water at a very slow pace and it will still spin. You will feel the little blade thumping a long. Gold is fine too! Good luck and keep then great videos coming!😁👍

Great video. It's cool to see you put the natives back. It is difficult to find a good native stream in Va because people will fish a stream out keeping everything no matter how small. People even follow the fish truck in Va. You would think they are starving.

I grew up fishing these types of streams in the Shenandoah valley. Live in Colorado now and plenty of trout rivers. We'll have to get ya fishing out here now lol

It's so cool that Papa Hawk is in so many of your videos. You guys were wearing them out!
I'm probably going to switch all the hooks on my ultralight lures to single barbless hooks. Trebles do so much damage to the fish if you hook them deep or they get penetrated by more than one hook, which happens a lot to me. Mostly with smaller fish. I've killed fish that I would have released because of the damage treble hooks did.
It was a great day of fishing for sure! Yes, I should switch them out to single hook as well. I do mostly catch and release so a single hook would be helpful.
@@FishHawk so many times I've had fish hook themselves worse by thrashing around after they're landed. And they've almost hooked me a bunch of times!

How do you guys cook them my grandmother fries them
Mostly fillet them and fry them. My Dad is going to fillet some of these and also cook some in the smoker.
But when you fillet you lose meat so what we do is microwave the big ones 2 minutes small ones are for 1 minute take a spoon use the handle and skin them and then once you get it completely skinned, fins pulled off, then take your thumb run it down the spine all the way up to the head removing all the meat off of the bones

Maaan!?! I miss trout fishing SOOO much. I used to live in Franklin NC, where there are trout streams everywhere. You could almost walk out in your back yard and find a nice stream... The Cully, The Nantahalla, The Tuck, Peaks Creek... Now we live in Chattanooga TN, and theres NO where to trout fish around here... not without traveling a couple of hours, which due to our work & family schedule, I just cant do... Why God do you Hate Me?!? : { ...I guess I can just keep watching your vids and pretend Im you!? ; )

Panther Martin spinners have never failed me. If there are fish in the water they'll hit a Panther Martin. I prefer the ones with the orange fuzzy on the hook! ;)

Nice video, Fish Hawk and I applaud your enthusiasm for fishing!! Have you considered kayak fishing? A fishing style "sit on top" kayak would be perfect for the rivers you seem to film in. I have a Wilderness Systems ATAK140 as an example and as excited as you get, I'm just guessing you'd really take to YAK'ing like a trout to water. Keep it going my friend and enjoy the water!!

Thank you! Size and color/markings. I was using a 1/8 oz black Rooster Tail spinner. My Dad was using a 1/8 oz pink and green Rooster Tail spinner.
Mepps are by far the best spinners you can get!

Do you like to keep the rainbows or the brooks? I love to release the brook trout since they dont seem to flourish as much.... Rainbows are usually the keepers for me
All of the Trout we kept were stocked Trout. The small Native Brook Trout were released. Most of the stocked Trout die during the hot summer and they cannot reproduce. This particular stream gets very low in the summer and doesn't have enough cold water or oxygen for them to survive. That's why they re-stock this stream every Winter and Spring.
Fish Hawk Thats awesome! The places I fish are the exact same! We keep the stocked trout that tend to die off in the hot summer and we release the natives as well. Ill definitely subscribe and like the video as well as share it with some of my friends.

Thanks! By their color/markings and size. Depends on the stream and state. Some streams you can keep and some are catch and release only. Native Brook Trout are the only native Trout species east of the Rockies. I never keep a native regardless of the laws.
