Incredible how in two mostly still pictures, the two columns, you manage to communicate so much subtext! From the difference in weaponry, fortifications, discipline, aesthetic styles, tactics... It's incredible.

@@bakendo6586 The start of the videos is the first offensive against Helios 1, that was a massive NCR blunder. They took it eventually, which I assume is what we're going to see.
@bakendo6586 They barely had this. lol They're lucky they had enough bodies to pull a Chinese maneuver and just throw bodies at them until the Brotherhood ran out of ammo. The K/D ratio the Brotherhood had was ridicules.
@@Cairo40000 Nope, this is Operation: Sunburst, the only battle of Helios One. The BOS were absolutely decimated in there, with over half the knights, paladins and scribes killed in the operation. It's why General Oliver's heavy troopers can even field power armor due to the large amount that they salvaged from the battle. It's also why the Mojave BOS retreated to Hidden Bunker in a self-imposed exile and never went out during the day.
Some people never read the goddamn lore, or even play the game.
The NCR actually looks lit as hell, damn nice work.
Also their WW1 era armor really give a stark reminder of what kind of universe is this.

Well, NCR canonically IS all over the place between WWI and Vietnam War. Because some things are easier to replicate then others once you know how to do them or rather have someone else do all the research work required 3 centuries before you.
So while they have Vietnam era service rifles, they also have WWII era radios, but only WWI era level of mechanization. Simply because they can't industrialize fast enough to support their own demands. So for example they can produce DC-3 copies in limited numbers, but majority of engines goes to produce trucks and tractors that stay in NCR. And all of those need biofuel since you can't just drill for oil anymore. So every fuel expense is planned a year ahead ie during previous harvesting season.

Considering he's shown that there's gonna be sentry bots in this animation, I think those protections are gonna have some serious competition.
Canonically they are pretty damn tough, I mean they were built to protect and it's just that the main character is leagues ahead of everyone so it feels like most of the time they're not even doing anything

SODAZ IS A GOD OF 3D ANIMATION
The NCR troopers look so much better here than in the game for some reason. I think it's the combination of different styles from different eras, the steel armor looks like something out of WW1 while the uniform itself looks like WW2 and some of the equipment, body armor and weaponry is almost modern. Of course the gritty style and high resolution graphics make them look much better too.
It doesn't just "look like something out of WWI", he copied the Grabenpanzer cuirass. Which isn't a criticism at all, shows he has made good research.

@@BasedL0cation I mean it depends - most military's today can't really compare to the US in industry or firepower, but the NCR is fairly advanced and in places has reached a pre-war level of quality of life. The USA in Fallout 4 wasn't a Cold War 1950s USA, it was a futuristic dystopian far future USA and the NCR has begun fielding its own power armor and vertibird units by the time of New Vegas. Power armor in Fallout is far more advanced than anything we have today - as are the nuclear engines almost all vehicles used - it's a misconception to think they're less technologically advanced than we are besides in things like computing.
God that NCR Sapper model looks amazing. Will you be doing the First Battle of Hoover Dam after this perchance? Or will you move to a different IP for the next animation?

Sodaz tends to jump between IPs so next is unlikely, but nothing says they won't come back to it later.
I just love the image of two serious armies facing off, and then there's a Protectron just waddle forward.

Those armored NCR troopers look badass and it's quite smart considering the large amount of enemies in the mojave that utilize melee. Like animals, ghouls, super mutants, raiders or the legion.
Well they haven’t met the legion yet because first contact is after this battle
I love the creative license choices to add stuff like lobster armor to the NCR and power armor shoulder pad installer to BoS. It just fits perfectly.

Love seeing the NCR with the most primitive looking armor followed by the Brotherhood with their T-51bs. Beautiful shots. If I didn't know better I'd say the Brotherhood is gonna win this lol

You're getting thrown at absolute monsters and savages that will tear you limb from limb and sew your scrapped hide into more mad max bdsm gear, if you're a veteran that means youre a bulletproof hardass that can give Lanius or even the Courier trouble for a minute or two.
See: the Ranger in the Legion arena. IIRC she killed like two dudes unarmed and unarmored.

I might be looking into this too much, but I really like the way the 1st Recon guys at 0:26 aren't just marching eyes forward like the regular trooper column, the lead guy has his eyes darting around the horizon, presumably assessing the terrain and looking out for vantage points, like a good sniper from an elite recon unit should.

Well, you'd be surprised what jamming anything made of metal into a servo can do. He might die in the process, but his buddy next to him might have time to ram the barrel of his rifle under the paladin's chin and unload half a service rifle mag of armor piercing 5.56 through the underside of the guy's jaw and out the roof of his skull. All about " If I'm gonna die, will this POSSIBLY be of any use to making it so I can hinder the guy that killed me? " like self-unalive vests, or keeping a string on your bandolier of grenades " Just in case " when you know your position is about to be overrun, so you run a threat through all three of your frag grenades, you tie the end to the last grenade, you give it a sharp yank, you bear hug the first guy to barge into the room and you tackle him back out the door and you blow him and his buddies up with you.

@@dividewalker5673 Considering the NCR only won because they kept throwing bodies at the front until the Brotherhood ran out of ammunition, Rangers showing up would be non-canon fanservice, but I guess folks just can't not ask for them I guess.
I love how the shots showing the preparation between both sides represent their belonging faction so well.
The Brotherhood of Steel entering their T-51 power armor, the programming and booting up of the Protectrons, and their large arsenal of heavy and energy weapons.
Whilst the New California Republic showcases a military marching column of soldiers, introducing the 1st Recon unit demonstrating organization, and the logistical noting when the missile launcher was being picked up.
A disciplined military force with the manpower and small arms to spare versus a well-equipped technological order with the firepower and might to wage total war.
I absolutely love these series and cannot wait to see the final product. Amazing.
That WW1 Lobster armor worn by the NCR soldiers is an amazing aesthetic choice.

Seeing the NCR in trench armor made me incredibly happy. This entire series has made my week.
본격적인 대전차 화기랑 방어를 위해 철판 방호복을 쓰는 NCR이랑 설정대로 로봇들도 전투를 위해 준비하는 BoS 이걸 그냥 설정으로만 보는게 아니고 영상으로 볼 수 있으니 뭔가 가슴이 웅장해지는 기분이다.
폴아웃 세계관을 실제 게임들보다 더 현실스럽고 멋지게 연출하는거 보니까 ㄹㅇ 가슴이 웅장해짐
그동안 ncr이 잡졸로 보이다가 제대로 조직된 2차세계대전 수준의 군대로 보여서

The NCR wouldn't be able to kill T-51 armors in enough numbers to outfit their troops with them. They salvaged T-45s for a reason.

I like how this give the vibe of an "Mexican stand-off," the calm before the helfire of bullets bursting over head. Both sides are charatized as if one person, one ideology. The Bear and The Brother Hood, they duel at dusk but only one will remain.

Love the overconfidence displayed in hi-tech by the brotherhood compared to the careful planning and preparation of the NCR army. Shows who are the larpers and who are the real deal.
I love that the NCR troopers are using the 1908 pattern British web gear! I also love that the BOS officer in ep1 was rocking German kit!
I like the mix of ncr characters models with bf1 character models. It fits really well.
Time for revenge against those tech addicted horders hiding in their antithetical hi-tech power station.

the "I feel like we need more guys here" is true about mostly all NCR encampments which is part of the reason they are on the losing side of new vegas until you come around and turn them into the badasses they are in this and man those flametrooper looking guys with the heavy armor at 0:45 just look so cool

I’m impressed with how this not only looks like dallout, but spunds like fallout as well. Even small sounds like the way their gear rattles as they look around!

Good to see the NCR bringing in their sniper teams, wonder if we will get to see thier ranger units.
I'm expecting Rangers after the battle starts. Using them before wouldn't work nearly s well. T-51 visors can resist bullets, but AP .50 rounds? Anti-materiel rifles will counter power armor. Regular infantry will also get a couple kills, specially the dude with a rocket launcher. NCR might be planning on attrition of BOS hardware and supplies, not their manpower. They have just the spare parts, ammo and even food they first brought. I can imagine BOS night raids/sail outs seeking water and bullet casings. This battle can start as a mix of WWI and Anchorage, then wear down into the sort of trench siege seen against star-forts in the 16th and 17th centuries.
@@brunokopte1347well, the power armor was designed not only, as duh, great protection, but mainly platform for soldiers to carry tank-like weaponry, miniguns and etc without losing mobility of infantry unit
@@okand1921 I know this already. What would be your point? That pin-point accuracy will be hard to achieve? I agree. It could go as with tanks, first achieving mobility kills by damaged joints and/or wait until they aren't running around, then hitting other weak spots. Sniping could also happen outside of pitched battles, targeting power armored sentries. The whole thing could go many ways, and several of them at the same time. It would be even more believable if the NCR has to scrap their original plan and improvise, maybe using snipers as bait for T-51s to come and fall to ambushes/pit traps/lots of TNT.
Is it just me or is this way cooler than Fallout? Ghouls and all that are cool but I think militaries and countries starting to fight over a new America is so much cooler. Wish the water purification thing meant something.

This is just so freaking amazing! In only 60 seconds you can feel the weight of everything and see all that is being conveyed. It's just so cool!
Both sides feel like they are who they should be, the Brotherhood being the absolute juggernaut with their power armor basically making them into literal tanks in comparison to the NCR who use unstandardized uniforms and weapons. I really love the details of both sides in those regards.

I really appreciate how much this looks like the Fallout 1 and 2 style of 3D rendering. I saw it from a post and had to check out the source because it looked like something they actually made for Fallout 1. Doesn't help that you also managed to make both sides look so kickass.
