I've done all the mods u recommended and I noticed a difference in feed reliability and overall user ability. So, much love, on this guide. I fielded my vector with the only mod being sanding down the cams uneven surface. Biggest issue was feeding with the charging handle which seems to be fixed by shortening the top shortstroke buffer. I did reach out to krytac they mentioned additional parts should be available by Feb March time. Id like to buy an extra bolt assy to mess with the cup seal. For an indoor arena this thing is great and my fav gun all around.

sooo much better than: "hey this gun is pretty accurate! It also feels and looks really cool like real kriss vector! Strong reccomend guys, buy it now."
I've got this and play at indoor events in England 🇬🇧. Bolt freeze stand, happens when ever use green gas even on single shot. Have to use red gas. Mags feed problems happening too often, but have been laxed on loading. Sometimes, if I dry and aim up, for example, shooting at players on the next floor, it misses fires. Have to point it down shot until it works. With my krytac gbb, I had a mag fall out on me halfway through a mag. Had to duck tape base plate back on So triple check now to check if secure. Trying to find pouches is a nightmare. Gonna implement the mods in the video. Cheers dude 👍
I am going to be honest, these are the best airsoft gun reviews on UA-cam. The practicality & aftermarket sections are my favourite, and a really important part most reviewers don't think to mention. I am SO happy you guys covered this gun. Definetly adding this to my playlist of airsoft-related videos I can fall asleep to. Don't judge. P.S. on the subject of the mag release - I've used a Krytac AEG vector myself a couple times (my good friend owns one, almost bought it at one point) and I recommend holding it by the bottom rail with your palm rested over the mag release. You can apply pressure with your palm when the gun is upright and the mag will slide right out - It's good for fast reloads where you don't give a shit about where your mags go, but given that GBBR mags are much pricier I probably wouldn't recommend consistently dropping it on the ground. Just saying.
You can definitely use your index to press the mag release button or your thumb while having your palm on the mag, but for the sake of sanity just use a righty mag release extension which makes life a hell lot easier
I really appreciate this video. I just got mine and after a few hundred rounds it wasn’t cycling half the shots. I did everything you recommended in this video and voila! Cheers man.
You briefly mentioned the Comrade Quiche speedloader adapter and let me just say that those things are great. I just got one for my VFC M4 GBBR and crucially for my KWA MP7 which is impossible to load with a speed loader without it. Highly reccomend their stuff
Phenomenal review! The preorder on Evike keeps getting pushed, I like to think Krytac is aware of these issues and are working on fixing them in upcoming batches.
The more major reason as to why the gun doesnt have good gas efficiency probably lies in the fact that it uses a not realistic bolt system - with the nozzle carrier having to do work and rub against a mock bolt behind it, a lot of friction is produced and worsen its already not so great gas efficiency as a result of its small nozzle That said in an actual game this thing is a beast with remarkable consistency and response, as long as you are not incredibly trigger happy the mediocre cooldown resistance is hardly an issue
Found your channel a few days ago and I'm very impressed by the amount of diligence y'all put into your reviews, especially the follow ups. Keep up the good and informative work!
I heard about all of the issues this gun was having an decided not to pick one up. Mainly because the "Super V" system this gun uses is more "half baked" than the KWA model, which uses the full Super V system. Hopefully they can fix the cup seal with something that isn't awful but if this gun gets as popular as it seems to be, that's only a matter of time. Personally, I'm going KWA with this gun. Sure, it's expensive and has it's issues but I prefer realism over whatever Krytac did with this gun.
I have this and i would say yes it’s mid for any situation other than CQC/CQB. It sucks in the cold as near freezing temperature of water, it will freeze up and stop working. It being a GBB you do not feel it at all, it feels more like a light tap downwards. So in the end its mainly good as a CQB/CQC indoor gun.
@@brodude8641 there is a fix for the freezing you just gotta change the piston head to this “HEPHAESTUS KRYTAC KRISS VECTOR GBB SMG HIGH PERFORMANCE PISTON HEAD” and it will still shoot in somewhat cold temperatures still for a while longer
Coming to watch this video again 8 months of owning mine, has gave me some idea's of what I should change to get more use out of the gas I use. I also I am a lefty, love the challenge of just the mag out, but I got it down by now I think
Overall this review pretty much sums up my experience with the replica, except for a few minor things. -While the gas efficiency isn't great, (especially at freezing) it had no problem firing full mags in semi auto at 42F. (keep in mind that this is during CQB) -The mag baseplates use an extremely weak design, after playing for about 4 hours, occasionally dropping the mags onto the plywood floor from crouch height, one of the baseplate had the locking lug break off, causing the follower spring to fly out, losing the spring base. I was able to 3d print some replacement parts so its not a deal breaker for me.
Brilliant review! and plenty of useful tips and tricks. I hope Krytac pays attention to this and the communities findings. I did the same with my plate edges and have much smoother operation now but had no idea about the BBU issue, again thank you for the work put in to this video.
I had the same on my glock magazine that the bb's would jam in the feed lips. I fixed this by sanding down the insides of the feed lips a bit, so that the bb's would be seperated a bit smoother. Never had that same problem again.
While I’m not a GBB guy and just like shifting a bit,I I’ve these video and is the reason I bought a GBBP Glock to try them out. Soon most likely getting bigger platforms and this channel is extremely helpful for that
thanks to krytac for threatening to file a complaint against KWA and theyr vector just to sell this shit. And thank you for your feedback. People will do the job just outside the box to avoid extra wear
Amazing video as always. Please keep trying recent releases. It’s hard to find a comprehensive video with this quality that really helps consumers. Can you try the G&G MGCR next ?
Lmao that LaCroix joke sent me Thanks as always for the video! Looking forward to see what you guys put out next. As far as the Vector, I already do have a KWA one and it’s been reliable so far, but it’s really cool to see another gas Vector in the market again. I might go for an MP7 next
So what you are saying is that the KWA Kriss, that i bought like almost a decade ago and has been neglected in my gun wall ever since, has more use then just as a display piece??
Love the in depth going over the internals review actually showing how the gun works. You didn't just post a basic field strip assuming how things worked the second you got the gun to have a video out quick but actually worked on a well made explaination of the design and function of the gun. I can't own an airsoft gun for more than a week before I take it apart so this review will help a lot.
loved this video, it is so informative. I've recently got my Krytac KV GBB, did the mods suggested in the video and it worked so much better from when it first came out of the box.... but after a few mags worth, it's starting to go full auto and burst on semi.. maybe i need to take apart the fire selector group and re-lube everything (a quick visual inspection has confirmed nothing broke)
The problem with this gun is one that it shares with the AEG version: it's a Kriss vector. I want one... badly... but it seems so finicky and unnecessary. In reality, I'll probably do what I originally planned. Get an AEG version and just HPA it. A sick looking gun with none of the headaches. The only real loss is no blowback, BUT, there's so little felt recoil on the blowback that to me, it doesn't seem to matter.
Both Krytac GBBs have issues with cooldown. I have a Maxim 9 that basically cools down immediately on propane, so that even on an average fire rate of 1 shot every half a second will cause it to cool down to the point that it won't catch on last shot. It also often spits so much propane even if not overfilled that I sometimes get some in my mouth when shooting at arms length.
I was really eyeballing that gun since a gbb AKM I wanted is no longer available. Seeing the minor shortcomings of the Vector I'm looking at reliability and accuracy as more of a selling point
Great video as always. It is, as I assumed a bit lack luster. One thing I picked up on from early video teases was how the bolt travels and turns out I was right. This is a disappointing release and I thank you as I will look to other models and avoid this one. In my opinion the KWA is far superior to what Krytac has produced.
I'd love for you to do a video about nozzle valves AKA rocket valves/cylinder valves. There's lots of after market 'upgrades' available, but what exactly they aim to upgrade is not clear.
@@ExplosiveEnterprises is there a similar product for zinc-alloy parts? or does this work for zinc-alloy already? asking because I run tokyo marui gbbrs
it's definitely, quirky... but it cycled really nicely when I put a mag load through it at MOA. Hoping they'll send me one to go with the Maxim 9 at some point too🙏... not that I don't already have to prioritise gun rack space 😅 keep up the great work 🤌
Since you guys had mentioned the VFC MP7 at the end of the video do you guys plan on making a video on it? Maybe even a comparison with the KWA MP7? Just curious, awesome video regardless.
Seems like an enhanced piston that uses an O-ring is available over on blackvariable. I just ordered one, will see if it addresses the gas efficiency issues. The part is 3D printed but hoping it works and holds up!
@@lazyblackninjadfg8602 actually yeah it did make a pretty significant difference! It's still not particularly efficient (expect to gas up between each mag refill; it won't make it through more than one mag it seems) but did not have any issues running out of gas mid magazine during 2 long game days. Coupled with the buffer mod, I only had an occasional cycle failure. I think it failed to cycle maybe 3 times out of both 5-hour game days in 88F weather? And this was using all fire modes throughout the day. In short, definitely an impactful improvement, I would recommend it.
Thinking on it, I should clarify a little that I may have also failed to fully gas the mags initially and it may be possible to get through more mags with the mod if filled fully from the start. I did some hasty reloads of mags between rounds and this may be why I did not get through as many during the games where I had to reload them (along with a lot of full auto and burst fire). I still recommend the enhanced piston for sure.
I have a KWA Kriss Vector, almost new (used to test shoot cans twice). Is this one a better option for playing? Does it have better recoil and precision?
You do realise that kyrtac recommends you re-lube all the internals after every 10 mages shot through, to maintain optimal performance, as for the gas cooldown problem, i have had no such issues, can dump 2 mags on one green gas charge and have no issues on any fire modes. gbb is savage, i will need to run maintance soon as i have shot 8-9 mags through mine, the bolt is looking a bit dry.
I'm late to this but you do realize relubing every 10 mags is a ridiculous ask, right? that means relubing every 1-2 games during a day. Krytac couldn't design a good enough product and asks you to do that to counteract their bad design.
i really wanted to love this gun as the vector is one of my favorite guns ever and i really wish that it has more kick to it and that space the real one has for that counter weight to balance recoil they could've done a similar mechanism to give it more kick
I’m interested to see how this compares against my kwa version …breakdown is identical …I also shoot left handed so reload is very odd but with practice it’s doable …iv ran my kwa for many years and it too suffers from cold to some extent …I have found out using map gas or propane works great even in sub cold conditions (32 deg) I have had 0 issues with the trigger system …I do have 7 mags and all have worked perfectly fine for the last 6yrs that iv owned the gun / mags …mag pouches I would recommend hsgi extended pistol pouches since they will hold the longer mags fine …its been a while since I’ve played but i used to use my vector every weekend and have shot thousands of rounds through …I’d say it’s fairly reliable for a gas gun considering my kwa was one of the first production releases …I’m interested to see how the krytac and kwa compare …I can say materials are pretty much the same from what iv gathered …con is you can’t really get new parts for the kwa …I managed to get a few internal parts that I keep on hand …great vid and I hope my comment helps anyone who is curious about the two vectors …I still own and field my kwa …the vector is a head turner pretty much everywhere you go especially a gas one
Gas efficiency an issue and doesn’t do well in cold weather I live in the north of 🇬🇧 that’s shit for us. Have to be hpa adapter, will hang fire hopefully krytac will resolve the issues
Im hoping they will adress the issues from the community and improve it as time goes on, because its a neat little gun that seems to be very well made in terms of materials and build quality. But as it stands now the gas inneficiency is a deal breaker imo
And here i was saving up to buy this gun. Smh. Would the AEG be better then? If it doesnt need to worry about the gas mag not feeding and the gun getting cold?
I’d like to see a video on the MGCR 5.56 from G&G. Just recently got it and I’ve had one game out of it so I haven’t had much time to have an opinion on it, but I’d like someone who knows what they’re doing take a look at it and see if there’s any way to make it better. Or if there’s an HPA conversion possible.
Do you think it'll be possible to increase the bolt travel without it getting stuck by modifying or via possible future "full travel" upgrade kits? The low recoil is kind of a turn off for such an interesting gbbr
Tried and disassembled the KWA when it came out in 2011?12? The bolt was much like the real one and dropped down in the vertical position. The gun was also very problematic, bad efficiency, massive cooldown.
I feel like they made this gun to ride the KWA train and cash in on those not willing to buy a second hand gun for 600$++. But man, the performance, lack of realism and all the internal issues this almost seems like a rushed EA game filled with bugs. I bought a KWA about a year ago, and after a full service the performance is way better than this, plus you can actually feel the super V system working witch gives a added unique feel to the recoil. Other than this being the V2 version i see no reason in the world to buy this over a well maintained kwa.
I feel like airsoft guns especially gbb should be tested in sub optimal environments, manufacturers think we are playing airsoft in a cozy shoothouse or something. While most of us probably play outside with fluctuations in temperature or milsim events during winter, nights and in water.
No sadly, the kriss vector uses 45 acp mags from the glock 21. The glock 17, 19x and whatever uses 9mm mags. I have both, and the glock mags do not fit.
I kinda want to see the aneurysm you guys would have going over the aps gbox systems. I know "stylistic" ar's arent your usual, but man. . . . it's a horror show
I've added this thing to my wishlist but now I'm deflated because I don't want to buy a gun that I can't use for like 7 months of the year. Please do a followup video if there are aftermarket upgrades or if the gun itself is improved by the OEM.
@@周生生-f1f There are no indoor games around here. Spring and fall has disappeared lately. I don't want to risk buying the gun unless itcan be winterized.

-We want to stress that if the rubber buffers are cut down too far, the bolt will get stuck to the rear and the gun will fail to cycle. If you don't feel comfortable accepting this risk, we suggest holding off on that modification for now.

This can be remedied with Dremel work to remove material, but is not as drop-in as we hoped.

Confirmed in KWA Kriss Vector Discord group.
I'd love for you to do a video about nozzle valves AKA rocket valves/cylinder valves. There's lots of after market 'upgrades' available, but what exactly they aim to upgrade is not clear.
would love to see you review any VFC V3 GBBR.
This is a fantastic review, thanks!
I was gonna purchase one of these to compliment my mws, but now maybe I’ll wait for a revision
Hi at around 1:45 you mention something that you can use to touch up the finish called “coatblue” or something. How do you properly spell it?
The term is 'cold blue'- in this case since the parts are aluminum, Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black is a specific product that will do the job.
@@ExplosiveEnterprises is there a similar product for zinc-alloy parts?
or does this work for zinc-alloy already?
asking because I run tokyo marui gbbrs
it's definitely, quirky... but it cycled really nicely when I put a mag load through it at MOA.
Hoping they'll send me one to go with the Maxim 9 at some point too🙏... not that I don't already have to prioritise gun rack space 😅
keep up the great work 🤌
are the g17/18 mag compatible?
Since you guys had mentioned the VFC MP7 at the end of the video do you guys plan on making a video on it? Maybe even a comparison with the KWA MP7? Just curious, awesome video regardless.
Hoping to God the mags are interchangeable with the OG Kwa. Got one myself.
I laughed so hard I choked on my food when you edited in the receiver markings as actual morse code
Seems like an enhanced piston that uses an O-ring is available over on blackvariable. I just ordered one, will see if it addresses the gas efficiency issues. The part is 3D printed but hoping it works and holds up!
How was the new enhanced piston boss? Did it fix the issues?
I would love to see a similar review of the VFC MP7
I have a KWA Kriss Vector, almost new (used to test shoot cans twice). Is this one a better option for playing? Does it have better recoil and precision?
Thank you! Awesome review!
Shame the gen 2 no longer has the internal flashlight option, that was a look
Thanks. It's midnight, I have to be up at 5 for my kid, and I really want to see Hot Fuzz now
A bit concerning on its full auto failure rate. Is it still worth getting the GBB or just get an AEG Vector?
What did you use for the shim to keep the nozzle in place inside the bolt?
looks like hollow polystyrene rod, often comes in smaller, sometimes even metric, diameters. Can be had at hardware stores and hobby shops usually
Im hoping they will adress the issues from the community and improve it as time goes on, because its a neat little gun that seems to be very well made in terms of materials and build quality. But as it stands now the gas inneficiency is a deal breaker imo
As somebody who has been using this in a game it isn't that bad tbh
As long as you aren't doing stuff like full auto the whole way down
And here i was saving up to buy this gun. Smh.
Would the AEG be better then? If it doesnt need to worry about the gas mag not feeding and the gun getting cold?
Any chance of a kwa f90 review?
Hephaestus have started releasing mods for the vector it appears. One of which is a new piston head for better efficiency?
Thanks for that review ! I am more into my retro stuff from Marui and Fixed Carringhandles but hey ...its something for a collection. I subscribed =)
Interesting the bolt doesn't fall down like the KWA one
Do you think it'll be possible to increase the bolt travel without it getting stuck by modifying or via possible future "full travel" upgrade kits? The low recoil is kind of a turn off for such an interesting gbbr
Eh I mean Vector is supposed to have mitigated recoil
Tried and disassembled the KWA when it came out in 2011?12? The bolt was much like the real one and dropped down in the vertical position. The gun was also very problematic, bad efficiency, massive cooldown.
Do you have to take it all apart to get to the inner barrel bucking?
Hell ya, good video as always
Well based on this video, and the rarity of me wanting to use my Vector anyway, I think I'll just keep my KWA Vector GBB, and leave it at that.
same dude. at least they replicated the super v system...
Your tutorial is awesome!
Thanks for the review
Im was thinking to buy one
but not now😂
I feel like airsoft guns especially gbb should be tested in sub optimal environments, manufacturers think we are playing airsoft in a cozy shoothouse or something. While most of us probably play outside with fluctuations in temperature or milsim events during winter, nights and in water.
Where are we seeing the vfc mp7 +5 extra mags for 500?
Where can I find the shown front grip for the Vector?
I own a WE Glock 17 pistol. Will the magazine work on this Vector?
The reason I asked is I've seen Glock magazines wotkon the real fire arm version.
No sadly, the kriss vector uses 45 acp mags from the glock 21.
The glock 17, 19x and whatever uses 9mm mags.
I have both, and the glock mags do not fit.
How does this compare to the KWA Vector?
I kinda want to see the aneurysm you guys would have going over the aps gbox systems. I know "stylistic" ar's arent your usual, but man. . . . it's a horror show
Easy way to fix all the manufacturing issues. Get a KWA, mine has works near flawlessly for years with almost no signs of wear.
yeah but it's like 3 times the price
My friends older brother has the original Gbb.
How it Works with a Heavy Gas like Propane or LP gas ?
I've added this thing to my wishlist but now I'm deflated because I don't want to buy a gun that I can't use for like 7 months of the year.
Please do a followup video if there are aftermarket upgrades or if the gun itself is improved by the OEM.
If you do indoors or live in places where it's mostly 15-20 degrees it's acceptable and can clear mags
@@周生生-f1f There are no indoor games around here. Spring and fall has disappeared lately. I don't want to risk buying the gun unless itcan be winterized.
@@sogerc1 big oof, rip
Did anyone ever come up with a nozzle seal and O ring?
“You need backup irons in case your optics dies” sure grandma lets get you to bed 😂😂😂😂
This is a shame, I thought it would sound nicer, be better, for the price! Just saved me £600 as I have a LF gel blaster version if this, its pretty nice and sounds thumps for an electric cycle
will it work with TM Glock mag?
Can you review on VFC gen 3 ARs?
Where can we find the 3D print « speed loader » ? Thanks
It's from ComradeQuiche Airsoft, at comradequicheairsoft.com/. We have no financial ties to ComradeQuiche- we highly recommend his speedloaders because they just plain work.
Thanks !
Well done
