I liked how Ted and Margaret were simply platonic friends, with no hint of romance between them. I wish there could be more depictions of this dynamic.
I agree. This is a beautiful scene! My favorite part is at 01:38, where Ted places the palm of his hand on Margaret’s cheek, and she tilts her head into his hand and smiles. How lovely! Great film!
In a way, Ted wasn't lying...he really was being honest. When your life bottoms out with your marriage and a person who once claimed to love you, you don't ever think about them again in that certain way you once did. That's why divorce is commonly seen in a way that's comparable to death....because that part of your life, along with those feelings, are gone and they don't come back. It's a hard truth.

If this was made today, they would’ve made this into a 12 part mini series and add this love story in. This is a great film.
Jane Alexander was very good in this movie. I felt her role should have been bigger.
It´s been many, many years since I´ve seen this movie, but I vaguely remember that they smashed at least once as friends.
@@MiguelFerreyraGuitarYou’re mixing it up with Ted smashing a colleague at work after Joanna left.
now why dont movies have acting like this anymore?
