When the opportunity presented itself to work side by side with Pedal Commander to integrate a Bluetooth enabled, Plug N Play Throttle Response Controller for the Can-Am Ryker, we were unbelievably excited as the Pedal Commander we launched for the Polaris Slingshot in 2019 has become one of the most sought after, highest reviewed product we sell.
The results are literally "mind altering", this throttle response controller takes the fun of riding your Ryker to an exponentially funner level by giving you push button control over how fast you want the throttle to respond to power. It brings the Ryker alive and makes it an absolute beast out of corners with instantaneous throttle response when you want it most.
So what does it do exactly?
Since the Ryker is a "drive by wire" system, the signal from the throttle to the ECU is electronic, the Pedal Commander simply intercepts that signal with a 100% plug n play harness and let's you adjust how sensitive you want your throttle to be with the push of a button. Normally while riding your Ryker at speed, you'd have to twist your throttle "all the way back" to get the full power of the engine... you can now compress that throttle map into the smallest amount of wrist action or anything in between, letting you fine tune your throttle to deliver power when you want it and where you want it!
In our opinion, this is by far the best pound for pound fun mod you can do to your Ryker if you're looking to grin from ear to ear. Now we've tested this mod on both our shop 600 and 900 and while the functionality is the same on both engines.. the 900 turns into an absolute beast.. so much so that you might wanna keep an extra set of "drawers" in the glove box... if you know what i mean.
You'll notice once your bike is back together and the unit has been plugged in, there isn't really anywhere to mount the Pedal Commander... so we partnered up with Ram Mount to offer you guys an optional handlebar mounting bracket. The mounting bracket fits the Pedal Commander perfectly and allows the unit to sit close to the throttle where it should be.
When you first turn on your ignition the Pedal Commander is going to load up in "city" mode. You can then scroll through the modes by pressing the "star" on the pedal commander logo. You'll have 4 modes to choose from Eco, City, Sport and Sport+. The LED will illuminate letting you know which mode you are in. You'll notice that "ECO" mode does not illuminate when scrolling through modes. That's because ECO mode was designed for those of you looking for a throttle delay and is only intended to maximize MPG and should only be used in highway applications. To get to "eco" mode you'll have to hold down the "star" icon until "eco" mode illuminates. Since the majority of the people buying this unit are looking to enhance their throttle response.. ECO mode will most likely not be used by most.
Once you find your desired mode you have a (+) and (-) button shown here. Each mode allows you to adjust throttle sensitivity in that mode with up to 9 different sensitivity settings. You can decrease throttle response in that mode with the (-) button. You will see the led's below illuminate red as you decrease the sensitivity. If you'd like to increase the throttle response in that mode you'll click the (+) button and you'll see the led's below illuminate green as you increase sensitivity. If the 9 settings in that driving mode do not fit your driving style... you can simply change modes until you find one that puts a smile on your face.
The system also features a built in "memory setting", so when you turn the ignition back on for your next ride, the unit will load back to your last mode & sensitivity level used. You can turn "off" the pedal commander at any time, restoring its factory throttle response by simply turning the pedal commander "off".
Now for those of you that are tech geeks like us.. the Pedal Commander comes with a free app that allows you to pair your smartphone to your Pedal Commander for complete control of your Ryker's throttle response right from your smartphone. It's pretty awesome and allows you to control all of the same features that the physical module does.
It would be nice if this had a feature to make an electronic cruise control

Just a heads up, your videos states its the middle plug but on mine it was the first plug on the inside. Thought I'd received the wrong model for a sec until I looked a little closer. That being said this thing's RIDICULOUS on Sport+!

Can you possibly hide this unit in the glove box or inside Ryker and only use the App mode with the phone mounted on handlebars?
Hello Jose... Yes you can. You can stash the Pedal Commander in the glovebox and control it with the free iphone or android phone app via bluetooth. The phone app let's you control all the same functions. It's pretty cool.

Hello Les, there are 36 modes on the device.. we did testing on both our shop 600cc and 900cc. There's definitely a mode or two that will put a smile on your face regardless of the engine size. It's crazy good fun.
Will you add a installation video for the F-3 Spyder Sport? I'm also wondering how this would work with a spyder with a remapped ECU....in which I do have.
Hello Joseph, the Spyder Pedal Commander video should be online Monday 7/27 by the end of the work day. We're making some final edits to it. It should be no issue with your Spyder ECU tune as this product simply compresses the signal to the throttle to your liking, but of course I cannot answer with certainty as I don' t have your tune to test with. When will you have something that can adjust the Ryker 600 traction control? The TC is just a little too aggressive, and end up losing power under normal cornering.

Does this override the nanny system on the 600? In other words... will it let me spin the back wheel up without the ryker cutting the throttle?
I know this doesn't add horsepower but if installed on my 600..will i be able to enjoy some of that good rubber burning of a 900?
Hello Stephen, it's compressing the throttle tune into a smaller amount of throttle twist. So you'll be limited to the power on tap that the bike has to offer of course. The 900 has alot of power so when it's compressed it's an absolute beast... crazy torque levels. The 600 has less power to offer so the level of exhilaration won't be at the same level as the 900 Rykers! With that said, we do have both a 600 and 900 at the shop and it's a game charger on either bike.
Can you adjust this on the fly while riding or do you need to be at a stop? If it's adjustable on the fly it would be better installed on the left side for obvious reasons, if so would the cabling reach the left side without issues?
The MFG recommends that settings are only changed when at idle. I'd personally also recommend that as the sensitivity of the throttle can get very touchy in the higher settings like Sport+, and riding with one hand on those higher sensitivity levels would be sketchy. Meaning two hands will be necessary in higher modes as she comes alive! 😀 The system plugs in on the left side.. so no issue mounting there if you'd prefer.
Will this allow the ryker to go faster than a stock ryker?
It turns the Ryker into a beast. It compresses the throttle map to your liking.. so you can get the full power of the Ryker in just a small amount of throttle. It takes the ryker to another level. Only downside.. is you're gonna burn through tires. Lol.

This allows you to tuck your pedal commander safely under body panels and control it with your phone if you so desire. Does this unlock the 0 to 50 mph throttle restriction that is on the EURO ryker models?

Yes.. it works perfectly on both the 600cc & 900cc and on both Ryker & Ryker Rally.

Will it bypass the modes of Ryker Rally i.e. eco, normal, rally, & sport?
It will work in conjunction with those modes and digitally compress the throttle sensitivity to your liking in whatever mode you're in.

Hello, we have not personally tested this product on the EU models.. but we've shipped these to Ryker owners across the globe without issue.

HEY JUST PURCHASED THE PEDDLE COMMANDER THE RAM INTAKE AND THE TREAL PERFORMANCE EXHAUST HOWEVER I SEEN SOME OF THE REVIEWS ON THE PEDDLE COMMANDER WAS SAYING THAT IT THROWS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON OR THE ECU CODE CAN YOU SHED A LIL LIGHT ON WHY THEY MAY HAPPEN I DONT WANA MESS MY RYKER RALLY UP

No there is no increase in HP. It compresses the throttle map to your liking. So you can get the full power of the bike in just the tiniest amount of throttle twist or anything in between. It makes the Ryker feel like a beast when you get on it & will absolutely put a smile on your face.
