Reminds me of the old days of playing day of defeat: source with regimented clans. We called them realism matches. The maps were so small so you'd have to get pre-set up as defense in houses and in special positions and the other team would attack from their spawn. Some of my favourite gaming memories

@@halyard9966 DoDS is actually somewhat alive still. Unlike HL2:DM that's been dead for close to 10 years now (I mean like dead dead, not even a half-full server without bots).

Came here for the nostalgia. The 7th cav is still doing these and we are able to muster full 50 vs 50 now. A lot has changed in the game since then and in our community as well. Still going strong! I hope the developers can capture this old school HLL vibe and perhaps even enhance on it.
Great video, I like the way both sides planned, briefed, then executed. The use of an AAR with the both teams sharing lessons learned. I would like to see more of this in HHL. IMO, this kind game play is what a lot of the HHL community is looking for. Keep it up.

Commander sounds like a brand new 2nd LT that has no idea what he’s doing and would probably get everyone killed if it wasn’t for his experienced noncoms.

Just imagine this game has some kind of destruction, for instance when arty hits the house its roof just gets blown up and thats it.... it would be far more immersive, I mean its still immersive game, but some maps like st maire eglise have not so much destroyed buildings as they should in my humble opinion

I thought after battlefield introduced destructible environments that more games would follow especially games that are trying to be as realistic as possible. I think all fps games should have some kind of destruction

Great Vid! Fun to see the briefing and the prep phase. Gives a good impression of how these Operations are put together. A few observations, 1: LOL Heberlig. 2: My four man squad on the German side was tasked with holding north of SME cathedral near the intersection. Of course the entire US army had to come right down on top of us :) 3: Video does a great job showing what a tough fight it was for that last objective! - SPC.Mix.C

We host public operations on our Tac 1 and Tac 2 servers but if you would like to join the internal operations, you can enlist at 7cav.us/enlist
7th cav servers and group are a joke. You can pretty much disregard the rules if you're a member or a friend of a high enough ranking member.
This game makes you swear a lot
But it looks like the Germans did a good job
remeber: a match takes 90min and u only play 40min because the other 50 minutes u waitin to respawn

damn everything looked and sounded better back then wtf they ruined the game
it doesnt show you the part where it takes him 5-10 minutes to respawn and get back after miles of running, maybe getting killed twice on his way and restarting again, everytime he was killed. it looks far less BORING editted
Lol we had outposts I didn’t have to run miles, these ops are far from boring
LOOOOL if your team can't understand the basic concept of putting down spawn points on the map, then you deserve to run everywhere.
Dying doesn't have any consequences in CoD so ruining around like a chicken with your head cut off, twitch shooting everything is as tactical as it gets. I still enjoy that kind of gameplay from time to time but mostly I've moved onto team based flanking and spanking gaming as I find it more mentally stimulating. If you don't make silly decisions you can avoid a lot of the 'boring' time in games like HLL.
STOP MOVING SO MUCH WHEN THE GUY SPEAKS 😭
