Today I wanted to do a side by side comparison of the Prime 1 Studio Jim Lee Hush Batcave Edition vs the Jason Fabok Detective Comics 1000 1/3 scale statues. Both of these iconic pieces of art are considered to be some of the best Batman statues ever created, so I wanted to show them off next to each other so you can choice the ultimate winner!!

Thanks for doing some heavy lifting to show them together. Hush is a story that got me back into comics after years of hiatus, but that Fabok piece is hard to beat. I think the Fabok statue is going to be the definitive Batman for me. I have the Hush bust and it's a nice little display piece to have without paying big bucks!

HUSH all the way. It is the classic representation of the character and the proportions are spot on. Fabok is more dynamic because the floating cape adds so much presence, but it looks weird and left leg is not positioned naturally. Hush for me is better by a narrow margin

I prefer the Fabok piece! I had a choice between the two when they were both on PO and went with Fabok. I’m a huge Jim Lee fan and love everything he draws but I think statue wise this one goes to Fabok!

Bought my first 1/3(and perhaps only) and I went with the Fabok. Now with the side by side, I am certain I made the right choice. I almost pulled the trigger on the black Hush, but the pose and gravatas of batman from Fabok won me over. He really looks like he's about to jump off that building and going to F up some baddies. Completely captured the essence of the dark fear inducing tone of batman.

They both look amazing. I struggled for a long time on which one to get.... Got a deal on the Hush statue and that really was the deciding factor. Would love to pick up the Fabok as well, but I have no idea where I would be able to fit him! lol
The Fabok Batman would have been a winner for me if that left leg wasn't so wonky and the base was swapped out for him climbing out of the cockpit of either the Batwing or Batmobile. Could you imagine this pose with the Batmobile cockpit? I can. Hush Batman is very detailed but lacks flair. Neither of them have the shark repellent on their utility belt which is an instant fail.
The Hush is a beautiful sculpt but Batman walking in such a way in his cave looks kinda strange, whereas the environment for the Fabok totally makes sense and also is incredibly iconic. Batman on a rooftop is the quintessential Batman. And of course you have that incredible "wind effect" with the cape, makes it really special.

I have the Hush version, but I think both of these look amazing and wouldn’t mind having both. I do notice a gap on the Detective Comics version around the belt area on the right side. Is that not pushed in all the way or just a issue? Thanks for posting this, was curious how they both look together.

Great video Chris!! I started collecting my first few 1/3 scales thanks to your awesome channel. I currently have the Prime 1 Batman beyond gold (got it 50% off) and Prime 1 Batman Hush Batcave (Black Version) BUT now I've been contemplating on getting this Fabok piece because it is so amazing with its presence. (despite some very minor details I can overlook) I think you've convinced me it just seems a little pricey considering the total for the Deluxe is about 2K. Nonetheless its great time to be a batman statue collector!!!

Is there a gap under the belt in the fabok statue?
I have the hush myself didn't know it had a leaning issue. Having said all that they both stand on their own 2 styles, 2 Batmen. Can't beat it.

Wow, both of these pieces are quite awesome. I like the pop of color Hush adds to your room and I like the presence of the Fabok Batman. I remember watching your previous videos and you almost giving up the PO on Fabok. Glad you did not cancel!! I’m on the fence about getting Hush, so would you have still gotten him knowing the chance of leaning is there??

I love both of them I've always been a big fan of Jim Lee. Jason Fabok come onto the market with his his version of Batman. Prime one have used his drawings to make some excellent statues. I absolutely love Wonder woman vs hydra. If I could only choose one it would be Fabok without a doubt. But to be fair they are two different statues if Jim Lee have one which was more dynamic then who knows.
Hush Batman statue looks awesome
I recently decided on the black Hush over the Batman Zero Year. Now I have to decide between black Hush and Fabok. I like the Bat symbol on Hush better than both the Fabok symbols. The Fabok is more dynamic but the Hush has a better base. The Fabok cape is great but takes up a lot of space. Too difficult. Brain shutting down.

The Hush Batman is a 10/10, Fabok is an 11/10 to me because of it’s lighter PVC type cape so that’s another point there. Plus no underwear, that’s like a bonus 500 points from me 😁 (yes, I’m probably the 1 person who reads comics that hates the underwear look, I never understood it and will never come around to liking that look, even if it makes me a hypocrite because I love my Hush and TDKR Batman looks the best).
I'm not a fan of the underwear either, but I understand why they did it in the comics!
Both incredible statues...I prefer the Fabok overall, the portraits, cape design, chest and abs, and the Hush definitely has better base, and utility belt imo. Both are beautiful pieces of art, and grails for any Batman fan!!

They're both fantastic and for me the Hush Batman is just a touch better but I have to admit I'm biased because I own it and have not made the choice to pick up the Fabock statue which is another incredible piece... Fortunately it's still available should I decide I do need it as part of my collection

Good video! Personally I don't see any point of comparison they are 2 different art styles, both with a couple of misses and lots of hits. However, the leaning issues with some of the hush pieces would make the other piece a safer purchase. I have Hush because that's the art style and color of Batman I grew up with ('90s), but I am tempted to buy DC 1000 since they do not seem to overlap each other, and I love the pose and presence it has.
People just wanted to see them side by side to decide which to buy!!

Fabok hands down. I would prefer the Batman Arkham Knight V7.43 because I'm a game collector. But I know that this Fabok is a mile better. It's the paint and the yellow bat symbol that really doesn't for me. Congrats on having both of these amazing pieces.
Both look amazing. Would like to see a black Hush comparison with Fabok one day. I think the old-style bat logo on the Fabok is too jarringly 80's. The alt logo suits him better. Would have liked to see a black-only Hush-style logo the Fabok :)

Thanks for sharing both pieces. I own the Hush piece, just wondering if there's a way to stop the lean? I like the Fabok batman as well. Great to see batman on the rooftops surveying the scene below. However for me I just can't get passed the cape. While many are fans of the billowing cape, it just has too many fold lines in my opinion. The belt also seems incapable of hold many crime fighting gadgets although faithful to the cover art. The left knee I feel should point a little more inwards. I do like the colour, face sculpt and pose which otherwise look fantastic. It certainly is more dynamic than the Hush piece.

I don't think there is a clear cut winner, I like the Hush sculpt and color more but the pose and concept of the Fabok. I may add the Fabok but my next piece is probably the Sideshow Dark Knight Returns lightning statue. The price is right so near the holidays

And the winner for me is Fabok’s version. Dynamic, captures better the essence of Batman, more intimidating, cape is a secondary character… love it. Considering buying standard version.
First let me say this. They both are amazing and beautiful! If I had to choose one I would have to take Hush! Death of a family and Hush are favorite stories! Jim Lee is my favorite artist. That’s it. If I had enough to have both I would most definitely take both. The Fabok has a grittier look and it’s more dynamic. The grey and black is a great color scheme. You did the right thing by getting both! Wow!!!

I've always preferred the fabac peace... But since it's release I've heard so much negative talk about it I just don't understand why.. I really do think over time this piece will be more appreciated just my opinion

I’m on the Hush side. Jim Lee was pinnacle Batman for me, but I can’t deny how amazing the Fabok piece is. Both are grails.

The Fabok one is hands down is the quintessential Batman. If you want to get your money's worth get the Fabok one. I'm definitely getting it if they do it on a 1/4 scale as well just like the Hush Superman.

I’m not a huge fan of 1/3 pieces but the Fabok version is the definite winner in this comp. Plus I don’t wanna fiddle with the hair raising assembly of those bats on the Hush version.

Considering these are from two iconic artists, they are hard to compare. However, the Fabok wins over Hush simply because there aren't any leaning issues. Which one captures the spirit of Batman more? The Fabok. Batman would never walk with his cape in hand like that- at least not in any of the TV shows, movies, cartoons or whatever I've seen- no shade to Jim Lee. But he would definitely stand above the city looking down on Gotham below. Even the costume is more Batman- and this from someone who adores the blue costume color. The black costume has stood the test of time, whereas the blue is more nostalgic- throwback to the early years of Batman. I thought about getting the Jim Lee- I had a chance to get it on a discount at Sideshow, but hearing some people describe their leaning issues, and one guy posted drastic photos- I wasn't willing to take that chance. Not at that price point.

This is one of your best videos ever. Thanks for going through all the trouble. I choose the hush because it's much closer to a traditional batman for me. I prefer the classic look. Both are amazing, however, and rank #1 and #2 all-time. What is most interesting to me is that during the live unboxing you said that the Fabok piece blew the Hush piece "out of the water." Sounds like you now think it's very close, with Fabok getting the slight edge?

Chris please notice that the torso on the Fabok Batman isn't seated correctly! There's a large gap there where you can see through the statue body right below the belt.
I prefer the Fabok piece. I also think the other Batman Hush statue is better than the batcave version.
I have the Hush, and I honestly thought it couldn't be matched. There's nothing I don't like about the Hush (no leaning issues yet). It's an incredible statue. But I do like the Fabok Batman more.....sorry wallet :)

I like both statues very much but I got to say I’m really not a fan of all the crosshatching I know some people like it and I respect that but it just doesn’t work for me I like the more realistic take like the original Batman hush statue I prefer that over the Batcave statue for that reason and I do like the dynamic pose of it as well
Both are great statues, probably the best Batman representations so either one is a good choice. For me hush has the best proportions, fabok Batman left broken ankle gives the statue an unnatural weak pose/leg. I am a physician, believe me, that ankle is broken! Great video Chris, thanks for taking the time and effort to make this amazing content!

I think both statues are great. The lean on the Hush is bs. I have that statue, but do not have lean yet. That said, at this price point, there should be metal rods or other design choices to keep these pieces from leaning. Regarding the Fabok - I'm not sure why everybody thinks the base is a forced prospective. The front of the base would be larger than the back if that was the case. The small window is normal for houses and buildings in the NYC tri-state area to let heat out of the attics. My only nitpick with the Fabok is I don't want crosshatching on my statues. It's a 2d art technique and does nothing for a statue. It's worse on the Hush piece where you have realistic textures mixed with lines just gouged into it. I get why they did it with Hush, but it's like every Batman statue they release now has it.
