Thinking Basketball put out a really good video of what the Celtics did to contain the Mavs offense, and it pretty much boils down to the Celtics being a match up nightmare for the Mavs. Unlike the Wolves, they can switch almost any defender onto Luka, and Tatum guarding the Mavs center means that the pick-and-roll doesn't work since Tatum would just switch onto Luka and Tatum can keep up with him unlike someone like Rudy.

Nick didn't have to pick the Mavs in 5, he could have gone with 6 or 7 but he just has to put himself out front no matter how silly he ends up looking. Face it, the best TEAM usually wins the finals, and the Celtics are the best team in this instance. They've just got too much firepower on both sides of the ball. Last night didn't look a whole lot different from when the Celtics blew out the Mavs in March, which Nick claimed was not representative because Daniel Gafford and Derrick Jones didn't play that much or whatever it was, even though they both did play in that game. Well, Gafford didn't play all that much last night either, and while Jones did get a lot more minutes he didn't have much of an impact, and the end result was another blowout. I think the Celtics are just better, and if the series only goes 5 games it's going to be them winning it, not the Mavs.

The fact most people were saying the mavs would win is laughable the Celtics just overwhelmed them with depth and talent. It looked like the varsity playing the jv team with that one good jv player who should be on varsity

I believe the mavs will win. When you have the best two players in the series you have good odds. Luka is by far the best player.

@@brycehammerton4542lmao. They literally have 2 good players. The 3 other starters on the mavs would be on the Celtics bench.. the talent on the Celtics top 8 guys is astronomically above anyone on mavs. Tatum might not score as much as Luka but does everything else so much better than Luka. Luka doesn’t play defense. Doesn’t rebound. Doesn’t facilitate better than Tatum.
