2000 Holiday Rambler/Monaco RV Tail Light Upgrade

- The taillights on my 2000 Holiday Rambler Endeavor were old, ugly, and didn't work very well. Like with many RVs, these taillights were originally sourced from an OEM automotive application (GM square body pickup in this case). These days, there are tons of options available for upgrade.
Here are links to all the parts I used on this project:
2 sets of GM square body lights: amzn.to/3yTy8Wm
4x 1157 bulb sockets (for tail/brake lights): amzn.to/3LrUVeE
4x 194 bulb sockets (for side marker lights in housing): amzn.to/3G51y5w
4x 1158 bulb sockets (for reverse lights and turn signal lights): amzn.to/38GTaNl

Wow we upgraded our 2003 Holiday Rambler Endeavor . Thanks to your video. What a difference . Especially at night. Thank you. 👍👍👍👍
Glad it's helped you out!
Found it. Was a little tricky finding the description. Thanks for the great idea.
Really nice job. It’s nice to see another person who goes above and beyond to do something better than original, and makes the effort. I’m going to explore this with my Travel Supreme coach.
Thanks for video, it was perfect! Just upgraded mine with the same components. Used Alla led lights for marker, turn and reverse. Upgraded the 1157 incandescent bulbs to 2357 for brighter brake lights.
What have been cool to see them at night!
I tried a few night shots, and none of them came out well unfortunately. I wanted to include that in the video. They look really good in person though!
I really like the look that this gives the RV. I have a 2005 endeavor with the same Chevy tail lights and would like to upgrade them as well. Do you have a video that shows the lights on I really like to see it.
Great video, great ideas. I wonder if anyone knows what rear lights were used on my 2009 Monaco. Monaco did exactly what was done here, which is to use two identical pair of lights to make up the 4. On each corner, the one above is flipped from the one below.
I'm not sure, but if you look somewhere on the housing there should be a DOT number. That you should be able to cross-reference to a vehicle.
Thanks for the video. Can you send me some info on how you did all the soldering? I’d like to replicate what you did.
Love this. Please post the link for the lenses you used and the sockets. Nice Work!
Do you still have the red glasses? Wish to buy them
I would have dearly loved to see the lighting effect at night for how these looked to other drivers. Video interesting probably a #$300 total upgrade, ok. Amber lens impossible to find 2023
I never drove behind it at night, but standing behind the lights were definitely more visible than the old ones. A nice improvement all around.
Could you give me some information regarding wiring for the tail lights installed ty
Basically you’ll have to trace the wiring in your coach and match them. If you’re using incandescent bulbs and they’re all 1156 (or otherwise 2-wire) like I had it doesn’t matter if you reverse the positive and negative wires. For most LED bulbs it will matter. If it’s a 3-wire bulb (1157 or otherwise) the wire orientation also matters. Don’t cut the wires too short, having some extra lets you more easily move the bulbs if you accidentally get them in the wrong spot.
Thanks again for another great video!
Did you use LED bulbs or incandescent's?
I stuck with incandescents. There were no LED housings I liked in that style, and I’ve not seen any LED 1156/1157 bulbs I liked. I did put in a couple of LED 194s and I didn’t like how those ended up looking in the housings.
Is a 1999 endeavor’s taillight the same as a 2000
