  • Miriam Tzairi immigrated with her family from Yemen to Israel in 1949. (Singer Kochava Harari כוכבה הררי is her sister.)
After her military service, she was discovered as a singer. In 1966 she was part of the group "Demol" and in 1968 she performed in the "Kalif Club" in Jaffa.
After that, she went to Europe, where she settled down in the Netherlands. With her talent, beauty and special origin, she became a popular topic in the Dutch media. For EMI she recorded an LP and a few singles. She performed in several Jewish folk clubs in Amsterdam, like the "Jerusalem of Gold" and later also in her own, called "Zairi-Club".
Actually she expected to go to Israel again, but when she fell in love with Dutch Fred Kijl, there was no going back. They married in 1971 and got a son, Alon and a daughter, Sharon. Miriam stopped singing because of ear problems.
