Planet Yam thanks ive just started this and have learned the intro
mini7 with practice all the piece is not really hard =)
The Pianist Yes but the coda took me like ... 2 month to get to the tempo :(
フランス人です yeah haha de dynamics and the tempo are out of that... that maybe take you years to do it perfectly... y learned all the piece in 7 months but the tempo dynamics and others took me like 3 or 4 years :( :)
The pain in this piece is just...
Man wonder what Chopin was going through that he wrote this..
The piece was written during the Polish Great Emigration (1831) which Chopin was a part of. The emotions are probably rooted in his knowledge that he wouldn't see Poland ever again.
Belligerent yeah and he went through a breakup just then
Belligerent thanks for the info!
Elisha Ripley lol best comment ive seen on this piece
Elisha Ripley one of his Nocturnes did. It's in the "The Pianist" movie.
Instead of going to school I'd rather be playing piano all day😍😭💖
Stacey Crews Same lol, rip my grades I just finger piano in class
Dank Dankson XD same! Once my teacher was like...
MARINA WHAT ARE YOU DOING???? ARE YOU EVEN PAYING ATTENTION??
i was just playing Revolutionary Etude :(
Dank Dankson SO IM NOT THE ONLY ONE
Me too...
Bro same and my friends make fun of me cause even when we FaceTime I’m still playing piano
2:00 - 2:30 In my opinion one of chopins best parts ever composed
I agree
I love that part so much
I agree
Best part is the coda or the grandiose for me
7:40 and onwards is better
7:41 - 8:23... so tragic

Dudeee why you coment. That :(
WRYYYYYYYYYYYY
Dear Kousei,
why this song represent the whole emotion of a person?
and it sounds like of your whole life
had nearly the same thought, good way of putting it
Ambroid12 I think it sounds like that too (& maybe that's why it's the final-performance song in Shigatsu wa kimi no uso) ~
For me it sounds like a person playing the piano for the first time and the piece represents the progress of improving, and its beautiful... (I also love Shigatsu wa kimi no uso)
Chopin actually really made it for it. You can feel every emotion of a person in this ballade. Emptyness, rageous, joy, sadness
@@nashkii227 agree
I have done it everyone, after 5 years of piano playing I finally conquered this beast. Oh wait! a wild Ballade no. 4 has appeared, challenge accepted.
shadowjuan2 im playing piano for now 5 months, trying to learn it lmao :D took you 5 years to learn it, i'll repost a message below this one when ive learnt it
Desu if you're trying to play this after 5 months you're a complete idiot and the other guy didn't practice this for 5 years .... He has been taking lessons for 5 years I bet if you played this now it would sound awful due to lack of experience and faulty dynamics but keep bragging bud
Addison Cagan stopped reading after "idiot" seeyu, you mad filthy arrogant person :D
Desu
You haven't posted yet. How did it go?
Desu still haven’t posted?hows it going
I don't know why but my favorite part of this song is 1:59-2:17, it's just sounds so beautiful
song
Because that section is one of the most majestic passages EVER written. You have an excellent taste.

Yes it is beautiful just like your mum. Its gorgeous
It's a PIECE, not a song @@youtubeepicuser4209
chopin was a rockstar before they had rockstars lol
What about Liszt then???
"eh, never heard of him" ;P

and where you left rachmaninoff
i said, "A rockstar before they had rockstars." i never said he was the only one lol
4:35 This part brings me back a lot of nostalgia
7:50 is probably my favorite section of this piece
I almost just want to learn that part
The coda
So I told my teacher today i wanted to learn this piece, and she said "Good luck. Now you have something to do this summer vacation at least" XD Looking at the sheets, just feeling my entire body aching, what have I done, Oh my God XD
Triggered Cat Same, I hate it, sheets doesn't cooperate with me 😤
Tyra Eide am I strange for not getting like that at all?? Like I play and practice every piece and love it, even every mistake is me learning because I know if I keep doing it I will be able to sound beautiful. Like I never get annoyed at learning hard piano songs...maybe I’m just super resilient or super passionate for piano who knows...nothing else I do I’m this excited or happy to practice (ok well maybe singing) this piece is so beautiful.
Good luck
how did you do
Finally, a Chopin piece I can finally learn
Nevermind...
Try a nocturne or waltz
Or if you’re up for it, an Ètude. (Namely 10 6, 10 3, 25 1 or 25 4 :)
6:29 you know the most sensational part I usually feel like flying in the sky when I listen to that particular part or my eyes filled with joyful tears :')
That part was me favorite
3:50 pure magic
TheUfo355 That part feels liek Fur Elise
a little bit :d
It s the best part for sure
Best moment 0:00 9:07
I love this piece but in my opinion when it's played by a computer it loses the feeling etc
Yes, that's why it's not played by computers. This is only used for people who can't or won't read music.
+Kelly Eisenmann I'm too lazy to read sheets.
or people that can't find the sheet music
Anyways I would recommend everybody to play this by sheets because there are important subtleties you can't read from a synthesia tutorial ^^
Kelly Eisenmann lol yep me
7:50 is just so beautiful.
Remember "The Pianist"
Awesome scene!
The wifi here in heaven is so slow. God damn.
Kaori :o
Kaori Miyazono I don't know if I should laugh or cry lmfao
😭😭😭
Hope you're having a great time up there! We miss you! ;')
Kaori Miyazono
heeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
hows it going kao-chan. ya still playin the violin. you baka. 😁
2:28 That reminds me of Winter wind...
The structure is so similar
I like this song so much i didnt realize this song is 9 minutes long
+Logan Glauner know that problem.
xD
It's not a song.
+Samuel Mason You're right. It's called a piece!
+Agustín Pividori lol or a work, composition etc. Tbh, I wish there was a universally used, less-awkward term for non-vocal music.
Steef Ikr, in Spanish there is "Partitura" something like "pur-tee-too-ruh", it ranges from a single instrument composition to a hole orchestra thing. Wish it wasn't just 'sheets' also btw, because sheets can refer to calculus sheets, I dunno, it just doesn't seem right to me...
The pianist. Anyone?
SD 2018 of course , a great movie
Oh yesss!!
@@15ironreaver Yes I love that movie, this piece was also played in an anime show called Your lie in April :o
@@AnimePianistMynodex tru 🎹, & I wish the actor had played more of it in the Pianist film, but he did just start 2 learn piano for the role ~
your lie in april+the pianist
7:45 is the most emotional and badass moment.Learn that and you win in learning the whole thing.
facts, the coda is absolutely incredible 😤made me tear up fr🤣😭
Franz Liszt could probably fucking sight read this piece perfectly on first try.
Nicely said Mr. Mereaux
ok ok i can play this it's not too hard
2:16
nevermind.
alison picket same XD
same :P
I agree with Mario Lopez. This piece requires technique, good understanding of dynamics etc.
alison picket I can actually play this 95 percent perfectly. Believe it or not it's not as hard as it looks. The notes are fairly easy but the challenging part is the rhythm. Took me about a year just to get the first 3 minutes down packed..another 5 to go.
Not only the speed and rhythm, you need to execute it perfectly too :)
4:37 - 5:14 is sooo majestic.
I know people get annoyed by the Shigatsu fans in the comments, but I find the pretentuous people who call this piece EASY a hundred times more annoying.
I seriously can't tell if you're joking or not... .__.
+Ryan Miguel Abarintos ooh ok...but just so we aren't at a misunderstanding, I'm a Shigatsu fan too, I just worded my comment wrong. so yeh.
+Gina Daelrym Honestly, sorry, it kinda is, it's certainly much easier than most people think, when all you need to play it is, at minimum, 4 years of common practice, a good ear, and some basic techniques for playing fast. I find the annoying kids that end up on every video saying "how is this even possible lol scary :d" much more annoying. Good thing they mostly only listen to Beethoven anyway. Chopin and Liszt are much better.
Jimmy Rodriguez I really didn't word this right at all did I. Ok so I myself learned about 70% of this piece within a few weeks and I've never had a single piano lesson so I KNOW it isn't impossible. I was literally just dissing all the people commenting "ew weeaboos are ruining Classical Music" by comparing them to something I found annoying. Goodbye and I'm done with this comment thread.
well i dont play piano & im not much known of classical music soooo i dont really know if its really that hard to play.
How coincidental* that this was uploaded on April
your lie in april of course
because of your lie in april
Coincidence I think not! Illuminati comfermed
I felt like I could here Kaori playing at some point ...
me too i felt like she was playing at one point!😆 Im so sad. she dies...😳😭
i love the transition at 2:50 just amazing
i can't even imagine what chopin was feeling when composing this...such a mix of emotions
7:42 KAORII NOOOO! YAMETEEE KUDASAII :'(

Complete gold. Just starting to learn it and even the very beginning is just so engaging and fun to play
4:36 & 7:45
this actually helps with the rhythm when practicing.... chopin is truly extraordinary
I got so exited when i realized that this was the song played for the last performance on Your Lie in April.
too slow -Chopin
normal speed is x1.25
SacredBlade yep
nope
Human Effigy
This is not slow. Plus it's Chopin, there isn't a "right" speed. Noob.
I know the notes, but I play this like a snail .-.
+saysay That's pretty impressive. I've never seen a snail play the piano.

Hi
What do you think of my version: ua-cam.com/video/iFbun8DHGOw/v-deo.html
Did it reach her... Seriously though, I do really love this piece, it's sad and powerful, and very pretty in some parts. It also amazes me how it goes from being easy to very difficult quickly.
So calm, i love it

At 4:48 i started imagining/hearing kaori's violin part
Yeah... Same
Yare yare
For some reason that violin part is freaking clear in my mind and makes me want to cry forever.
I love it, music like this never dies! 😍😍
You’re cute
Espetacular, música bela!
I wonder how many Chopin pieces Shigatsu has. Seems like the comments section of every Chopin video I watch has Shigatsu fans in it :)
I'm not sure if the total figure would be including two digits, but definitely a lot!
I could only recall 4 - Etudes Wrong Keys, Torrent, Winter Wind and this
Cow Norris There is an album of the pieces in the show and I counted 7 Chopin.
Op. 66 Fantaisie-Impromptu
Ballade No.1 in G Major Op. 23
Etudes :C sharp Op 10-4
E Major Op. 10 No. 3
A minor 25-11 winter wind
E minor 25-5
C minor 10-12
***** Op. 66 Fantaisie-Impromptu
what episode?
crimex153 I actually recognize the sounds. Not sure if Aiza plays it, but I think at one of the competitions. Sry if that's not that much of a helping hand :c

Absolutely amazing
I'm playing this! Love it as well! Chopin was a perfect classical composer!
romantic era composer*
Marc Kelly thank you lol i was about to say that lol
+Everyone above
I was just about to say that.
"Classical music" as used today can be split into 4 categories. Correct me if I am wrong.
Baroque
Classical
Romantic
Impressionistic (Debussy did not like his music being called like that)
Luca Martelli yep looks right to me.
i noticed that there are a few notes that differ from my sheet music. not sure why that is but its probably best to double-check with sheets if anyone plans on learning the piece using this tutorial. at 3:36, for example, my sheets have Eb-Cb-Ab on the left hand instead of Eb-Eb-Ab.
Hell yeah this is 🔥
Helped a lot tx
I think there's an incorrect note at 2:28. in the piece, measure 52, g octave -> D, not g octave -> Bflat
I don't know what that means but I agree with you 👍🏻
Also at 5:33
That one key should be G#, not A major.
5:21 - 5:28 ....Epic
Thank you very much for uploading this!
I didn't knew that Marioverehrer did songs like these, txs ^-^
4:38- oh yea thats nice :) 4:54- thats right :)
when i heard 0:34 i just couldn't hold back my tears, damn kaori i miss her so much T-T
While this channel is to help people with playing the right notes, a certain emotional connection can only be created with an actual piano in front of you, especially for this beautiful piece. The dynamics must come from the heart as well as the triplets near the end.
Danke Mario dank dir habe ich diese Melodie in einer Woche bekommen

i honestly ddont give any fuck about liszt , rachmaninoff, mozart, beethoven, whoever the fuck , name whatever u want, chopin is in a class for himself, notsaying his compositions are more difficult, its just i can connect to his music in a different way.
I feel the same about franz liszt, But chopin has to be my second favourite

@Rylix Mods SFC Sure, here I am. I might look a little familiar. Tell me what you think of the coda.
ua-cam.com/video/iFbun8DHGOw/v-deo.html
This song is certainly not hard, infact I believe it's the easiest of the ballades in terms of technicality. You just need to follow the patterns and hit the notes when the left hand tells you, follow the bass and the treble will shine
in other words yeah guys this piece is pretty easy, but playing it while adding different dynamics and emotion is a completely different playing field and then this piece becomes hard.
this is one of the hardest pieces out there! stop talking shit
