Another great review and a thumbs up by me....Where do you get all of this stuff? Yes I know CK Models. I bought some of my early IXO 1/43 from them. I love the showcase box. It's a shame Mini Champs doesn't do the same in 1/43...you and the entire world know how much I hat the cheap checkerboard bases in 1/43. I found it amazing with all the aero stuff that engineers come up with every year, even in 2005. I suspect that all has to do with wind tunnels. If not for your analysis, I would be impressed with the Hot Wheel model...did I say that? On a serious note, the Mini Champs is outstanding. I can't wait to see what you come up with next out of your surplus.
Thank you as always. I buy from mostly European dealers. I may do a short video about that if I can make it interesting. Actually the Mattel is not bad at all and was one of their better efforts. The Renaults and Jordans for the most part were pretty solid. They totally rushed the Ferraris and so mostly they are dogs though the Elite versions once I added a figure are good. That said if Minichamps made all the Renaults, Ferrari’s, Jordans and Williams from the Mattel era I would happily buy them. I just can’t wait 18 more years! I will be focused on down sizing my collection so my kids don’t have to at that point😆😆😆. Yes we know your love for the minichams boxes😜…. I hate the Minichamps Resin box and the older Spark Resin boxes… they are unnecessarily big. For every car there is a box so it matters to me for storage
Check out ‘07-‘08 cars the aero got silly so they in 2009 they basically undid it. Engineers found loop holes and by the end of 2009 barge boards where back and by 2019/20 it was totally out of control what was going on in that barge board area
You and I are much alike. i collect until i can't. Probably won't make it 18 years. Next month will start with the Daytona 24 hours and many more to follow. Be more busy with that then with cars. I'll have to count on you to keep me busy.
@ hahaha yes I think we are… I feel bad for me kids having to pack and figure out what to do with Dad’s ridiculous collection. 😆… thats right 24hrs of Daytona is just around the corner. I am already counting down to F1 launches a week after the season ended . Hopefully I will get some of the 2024 F1 cars on a year end sale and that will provide some entertainment
You and me both. Would love to see some of the Williams cars that either Mattel made or were never made. All the Renaults and Jordans from the same period. Plus we are all hoping the Ferrari’s get done which will probably be on GP Replica to make.
Thanks for your honest review. I was considering buying it for 179.95 at ck, but too many "disappointed" remarks makes me wait for someone like Spark to release their version
Its a good model but to your point it is expensive. My Mattel versions served me well and are better than the Mattel Ferrari’s. I will upgrade my 2006 as well but I can see online it will be the same as the 2005 variant. Thanks for watching and I am glad to hear my review was helpful. That is my hope is collectors can watch and get enough information to decide if they want buy or forgo on a model.
Amazing, cant wait for the r26 to be released soon! More aero = better. Ive waited like a decade for a good quality version. Just for the love of god for the price why cant minichamps add thumbs and seatbelts to their driver figures, pretty much the only downside.
Yes the R26 will be even better with the front wing aero and other bits. Hopefully that will come in early next year. Ya at this price put in the fabric seatbelt with photo etched buckles.
@@elplan5296 it will have the updated front wing winglets that extend from the end plates to the nose cone. There is a “boomerang” looking directional air vein on the outer leading edge of the side pods that were new for 2006… to your point it is an evolution of the R25 not a complete redesign. So its not major but looks better in my opinion… would love for Minicamps to make the R24 but cannot see that happening
@@mycarcave6214 yes. R26 looks different because of the different engine. And I mean that aero package is not about the evolution of the car. It's just about the adapting for new rules
That one should be out now if I am not mistaken or soon for sure. If you are keeping them on the base then that totally makes sense. Hopefully the 2006 version will be out in the new year.
Ok so just checked and it is Blue on the bottom of the main wings. The insides of the two end plates are carbon fiber decaled. Hope that helps you. Happy collecting. I just ordered the 2006 so will have a review maybe late February depending on when it arrives. I will try to remember to show the bottom in the video.
@@mycarcave6214 thank you very much for answering) It's because I'm afraid for this surface being scratched by foam rubber. So if it's painted in glossy blue, there is a potential risk. I know that it's underneath surface, but I don't like of knowing scratches' existing
Yes that is pretty disappointing for sure. If you are using resin you should make a full slit. The decal work is leas than desirable and I have to imagine they are all suffering from this.
True. I am not sure the change in attitudes now from Minichamps. Back in the day it was always the "tobacco-less" livery but now they come with Tobacco livery on the classics. On the modern F1 with say Vuse or Velco those are ommited. So wonder if it is part licensing payments or some sort of regulation that allow them to avoid the issue on 15+ year old models? At the current prices also not qualifying as a child's toy! hahahaha

I hope Minichamps do more of these classic releases. i'd love a proper Williams FW27 to replace the Mattel version

R26 hasn't got more aero. It's just a R25 for V8 engine and new tyres

@ interesting. I did not realize that. Thank you for the input. Once I get the R26 I will try to work that into the video
I want to wait for the regular release of the Brazil GP to fit in with the rest of the 80s resin bases from Minichamps just so it fits in

Can you tell me, please, is the underneath of front wing painted in dark blue or is it black plastic?
My guess is it is blue… but I will check and confirm when I get home

I don't understand. What's wrong? Are you refering to the lines not being properly made? In what sense? @mycarcave6214
It's not a child toy, it can have a tobacco logo.
