The main difference here is that Centurion combo ends on a much more impactful end board with the Calamities lock and has a better follow-up.
This deck will get even more consistent when we get Bonfire because Trudea is a Pyro for some reason, although it will make you a bit more vulnerable to Droll. You'll still probably play it, because 16 1 card starters + draw cards means you could go a whole tournament without bricking.
@@fornaximus7334Desires opens you to more non-engine, which is perhaps more important. Bonfire is kinda overkill for "consistency" when you're already so easy to start off.
I’ve been running it as a side engine in Bystial Horus and it’s kinda nuts getting to always have access to Lulu. Getting to Turbo out Sky Dragon Overlord Heliopolis with the Horus card lets you protect yourself from Cyclone and Imperm.
I've done testing using a decent hand trap suite on top of a bystial and superheavy package, shs to make baronne pre combo and the bystials enable more lvl 10 plays in the extra and regained + dis pater, I am running beast but am considering switching it to etude to let me have an additional quick synchro effect
Yeah I tested the Bystials plus vision resonator to go into accel synchro stardust to get either dis pater or baronne. Playing 4 horus cards also for a monster or spell negate on top of that if you see those cards. Also can play red zone to have 2 banishes with supernova (not the best because it loses to single imperm) ☠️
Honestly while the deck is mostly known in the ocg for playing just a bunch of hand traps I believe that Yacine is correct about changing it to a floodgate deck as it dodges skill drain a bunch, it can play TCOBO, the deck can play cards like ice dragon prison and all sorts of cards. And for those who say that the hand traps are better I have one word for u…floowandereez. (For context when Floo originally came out everyone played a bunch of hand traps instead of the more optimal floodgate version)
With how much Konami is pushing Spell/Trap Zone monster shenanigans, running a Centurion engine just to search their Counter Trap is probably going to be used a bunch in decks that can take advantage of that sort of thing(especially if they need to cover actual backrow from wipes).
tested a variant of this yesterday at an OTS (maining fenrir instead of siding), general thoughts were: book of moons were kinda mid - i kept wanting them to be eclipses instead; spellbound didnt come up enough and i kept wishing i had d barrier instead so i could crossout it (as that card hurt more than once) plus d barrier would've been more useful to play in general; i teched an ogre to crossout it and actually using it came in clutch more than once so i'd probably run more; nibiru was barely relevant all day, wished i'd sided them instead of maining. Fenrir hard carried the deck for additional pressure a lot, siding lancea's put a massive amount of pressure on some opponents and stopped them bystial banishing primera. Final Sigma in the extra in case you come across flowandereeze is godly they just cant out it.
I'm full of admiration for Joshua as a player and as a person. I like this kind of content and I hope he will cover more and more decks to come included but not only: Fire King, Snake Eye, Silenforce...
Ive been messing around with a centur-ion Machina engine. Since Primera and Trudea dont need to be normaled, ive added 3 Gear frame, 1 Unclaspare, 2 Redeployment, 1 fortress and 1 Citadel and Ruinforce, and 1 Overdrive. This is cabable of making an additional rank 4 XYZ as part of an end board, Ive been using dreadnought dreadnoid into Dora/Liebe/ Zeus or Time Thief. Really fun!
If you summon Emeth on the opponents turn instead of just using Trudea and Primera you can get Nibirued after your Calamity resolves. Just FYI to people who might want to play around that. But it's not like your opp can do much more then lol. Might hurt your follow up a bit not having the synchro up tho.
Lots of room for non engine is nice, but the deck is so linear it hurts. It being sorta fragile probably won’t keep it from seeing play either. It’s by no means a top tier deck, but Mathmech had the exact same issue and still survived off the back of Circular. Will probably end up a solid tier 2 deck. Bystials do seem like a bit of an issue though. Lights/darks hit the grave while synchro summoning which really hurts the follow up. Almost reminds me of Spright where linear lines and easy recoverability can get completely countered by a single Bystial.
Centur-Ion could really use a second team of “pilots” to work with or oppose this first wave. The deck has a whole of fuel for its engine, but doesn’t do much in-archetype by itself.
I personally want to say crossout with problematic hand traps names. I'm a big control player I was thinking eldlich package since you can pop a monster in the spell and trap zone but that seems slow. The magical muster.... Seem solid as a weak poor budget option. I think it's not a good strategy yet, because it just doesn't do much, but I think it's like the AMDE cards where they may be a lot stronger once support comes out. I'll definitely buy the core in a week or so, even if it is more expensive than I think it deserves. I do wish they would make some of these deckbuild packs more of an even spread, though.
Archetype seems like it can become easily busted with a few more support. But for now I don’t see it become tier 1 deck. Maybe can be tier 1 if splashed with other archetype or something
@chewdoom8415 Crimson Dragon targets the other synchro monster as cost, which allows for Imperm to be used in response before Crimson Dragon leaves the field and drops RDAKC. Only issue is it’s a quick effect and you’d have to do something like attempt to leave main 1 and battle to have an open board and force Crimson Dragon since Imperm requires you to have an open board. Otherwise you’re stuck using something like Veiler, Droplet, or Chalice as chainable cards that you can use almost whenever.
