    Hello Boyan, Many thanks for your clear and well-paced walk through this controller. I have a later version on order but I am using your explanations to prepare for its operation. Many of us struggle with using these things and learning new ways to do things. Your kind efforts are a great help

    Many thanks for your videos Boyan. They have been a great help. Still struggling with some aspects but getting there slowly. 👍

    Still happy with this? Thinking about getting one!

      Yes, i am. have been using it 10h per day, last 2 weeks. No problem so far. make sure you use the original pen drive, otherwise there will be steps lost from time to time. Was able to tool change, probe works right also. All in all this is the "killer".

      Wow sounds great! What cam do you use, i'm using Fusion 360 and i wonder if it will work with a pre made post processor?

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  8 років тому +1

      Estlcam for fast trochoidal paths, there i use the "normal" post processor. Normally Vectric Aspire, there "Gcode in mm" or "Fanuc" post processor. NX9 CAM, there "Fanuc" post.
      take a look at my other videos. I am routing now at 16000-20000mm/min not rapids but feedrate, and 3000s2 acceleration ---without a glitch.

    is possible adjustment backlash on this device?

    Good morning, friend the 4 axis can be put as a slave of the Y axis ?.
    On the Y axis I have 2 motors.
    Or would it have to output an axis Y put 2 drivers one for each motor?

    Regards the 3/4 axis controller option:
    Mine is 4 axis and the only difference I can see is that you have 2 NC [not connected] terminals on the spindle/stepper port. On mine they are labelled DIRA and STEPA.
    Not sure how these relate to a typical spindle speed PWN output of 0 - 10V!!

    Hello Boyan i have one question can you make thread using Single tooth thread milling cutter or standard ??. I use fusion 360 to make models and cam addon. I now build my own cnc milling center but i dont know if that ddcsv can do that operation :/

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  6 років тому

      The thread with a thread milling cutter is just a normal operation which any machine can do. So, yes. The controller can not make thread with a Tap. For that you need servo motor spindle and more expensive controller

    Have you used it for 3d carving? Does he behave well with heavy gcodes?

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  7 років тому +3

      Actually yes. I have tested it with files 1.5million lines of G code where my machines moves at 16m/min and acceleration is 3000mm/s2 , no glitch at all

    the 4 axis version would be fine if im doing a CNC Lathe?
    what if i control my spindle by other means will the 3 Axis ver be sufficient?

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  7 років тому

      Dont know what you are saying exactly? You need a 4 axis controller for 4 axis operation. But lathe work using Z is not same as engraving or cutting on 4 axis where 4rth axis is rotating slowly. If you need all 4th axis capabilities like engraving, cutting, lathe and indexing, then you need a extremely rigid machine plus a way to stop the axis when indexing / a brake/ . The cheapest that i know of plus controller is ua-cam.com/video/TlQgMk6te_Y/v-deo.html

    • @wilsonchin8307
      @wilsonchin8307 7 років тому

      ah let me rephrase it. so if i want to make a CNC lathe i only can control the bed movements with this controller rite? then if i want to control the spindle speed is there any way i can do it?

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  7 років тому

      I dont think so. You need another controller. This is not for lathe. The more expensive ones, around 300-400. people on forums report they work quite nice.

    • @wilsonchin8307
      @wilsonchin8307 7 років тому

      Hi.
      I have a Sherline Lathe that i want to convert to CNC i dont plan to make threads so i think a speed controller for my spindle RPM is not really necessary. so this controller would still work rite?
      Thanks!

    I'm thinking of buying one of these. After testing with the machine, do you recommend this?

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  7 років тому

      Definitely a very good solution, especially for machines without the need of a tool changer

  • @patakiattila8970

    Hi Boyan, since you posted this video a couple months passed already and would like to ask how thing are going with this controller? Does it worth it easy to control? I'm in a progress to convert a benchtop milling machine to cnc and was thinking either this controller or UCCNC software.

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  8 років тому

      I have not used the UCCN but i have heard only good things so far. The controller is 100% reliable. Which is really surprising. If you dont have a tool changer i believe the DDCSV is a better option, money wise and generally speaking. Even with a tool changer you can use separate PLC for around 100euro so you control the tool changer with it. There are some videos of Russian company?? i believe using the controller and tool changing, but they would not share how they made it. I asked them. But as i said so far so good

    First of all thank you for the video :)
    1) Which post processor is used for this control unit?
    2) Is the post processor for Mach3 compatible for this control unit?

    • @BoyanSilyavski

      1. general G code, Fanuc, etc
      2. No

      I wanted to ask if a new question came to mind. I want to use this control unit on a different machine. I have to run this machine with gcode. Will the servo motors run smoothly at high speeds such as F100000 (speed 100 m / min)?

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  7 років тому

      No. max speed was 60m/min as far as i remember. Just do your math. Its 400khz per channel. Depends how many pulses you need per mm. If you have a 17 bit absolute servo encoder it will fall short of pulses as you may calculate.

    • @firukk
      @firukk 7 років тому

      This unit is not 50kHz for each axis. You call it 400 kHz.

    does it have a tool height page?

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  8 років тому

      Yes, it has page where tool offsets could be programmed. if you have a repeatable tool holder.

    Hi Boyan,
    Many thanks for 2 great videos. Much more information than is in the English manual from 2015.
    We have at least 2 new s/w release in May; 2016-05-11-73-NOR and yors is 2016-05-19-77-NOR
    I also think there is a June release: 2016-06-10-80NOR

    hi i want to learn is it possible to use it as -puls pwm for driver of stepper

  • @cooleffenguy
    @cooleffenguy 8 років тому

    one more thing, can you change from mm to inches?

    • @BoyanSilyavski
      @BoyanSilyavski  8 років тому

      No. Its in MM, not Inch.

    • @billblades9195
      @billblades9195 7 років тому

      The controller is mm, but if you configure your steppers as steps per inch instead of steps per mm, as well as all other parameters (inch instead of mm), then the controller will work in inches. 3-place inch display is fine for CNC router.
