Tip #1 ~ Have a couple small rubber floor mats handy, put these down first then those little plastic things won't move on ya, they dig right into the rubber. Had the same problem at anchor down rv resort in Tennessee, beautiful place.

      @geemoe3064 6 років тому +8

if the rubber mat not handy - try using 3 blocks on each wheel for the 2 high blocking. 2 high all at once can be too much at once.

You and your family are, in my opinion, the cream of the crop of RV video's. I smile more watching your site than any other. I also watch Nomadic Fanatic and LOLOHO. I am in Tampa area at Spanish Main resort for 2 years letting my heart recupe from fibulation. I continue my travels through you folks. Thank you ever so much.

Love your videos. The youngest son sitting in the middle making faces and doing little funny things is the cutest. Reminds me when my triplets was young and goofing off. It was the greatest feelings. Thanks for sharing your journeys with us. God bless you all.

I’m so glad you enjoyed Texas. We live in New Mexico, transplanted from Texas. We stayed at the same RV Park you stayed also. We hope to meet you guys someday, we love watching your vlogs and have learned so much from you. We will be full timers within the next year and part time starting in May. Have a great time in Texas and have safe travels. God Bless you all.

You guys are just fun and funny! “I think I’ll do a walk around” 😂 Fantastic editing. You make this whole UA-cam thing look very easy (and I know it isn’t). The bit with Caleb in the backseat was just too funny. Hollywood (or maybe Broadway) is waiting for him. Your channel is way better than anything on TV. Thanks for all the inspiration as I gear up to launch into RV full-timing 🤗💕🌞🌲🚌

I am so glad you guys love Texas. I fell in love with Texas on my first business trip down here in 1981. Then I moved my family down here in Dec. 1982. Texas has been home ever since then and I love it more now than ever. You need to come back to Texas and spend a whole season and even then you wouldn't scratch the surface. My all time favorite place is The Big Bend National Park, you guys would love it. Later, Paul

Hey we stayed at the Oasis last September. Nice, clean little RV park. Also, when we need to go 2 high with those yellow levelers, we put 2 down beside each other, then put one on top in the middle, locking the bottom 2 together. That way you are sort of building a ramp up to the 2 high part. Works for us, never had a problem with them scooting. We've been full timing since June '17 and love it. Love watching your videos!

I've had so much trouble with those hi-tech plastic leveling blocks like you did that I carry some pressure-treated "patio decking" when I'm on hard pavement. On grass/gravel the plastic works fine, but I've pushed those things down the pavement just like you did, and it's not fun. . . . Enjoyed the video, as always!

May I suggest Anderson Camper Levelers 3604. We used them with our 2009 Keystone Cougar. When we upgraded to our 2017 Cougar 30rli, it came with an auto leveling system. LOVE it! ❤️ The layout of our new camper is similar to yours but we don’t have the bunks. Enjoy Texas!!

Love your family. They are so fun.
Our driving through Texas story. It's Christmas time, we're going from California to Florida on I10. We are listening carefully to the weather, I even have my Weather Radio on, we're supposed to stop at El Paso for the night and they announce a MAJOR Ice Storm going through Central Texas. We stop for a bathroom break and the wind is so strong, we have problems opening the door. We cancel the El Paso reservations and make new ones for Houston. We're driving in a 1994 Ford Escort wagon, these cars are light, even fully loaded. We white knuckle it to Houston, through high winds and driving rain.
And we're glad we did, I10 was closed due to ice in the El Paso area. We kept on going to Jupiter, Florida, because that weather was behind us.

Just be sure to get it at the truck pump, it's only a couple dollars a gallon, as opposed to $13+ for the 2 gallon jug they sell inside. And remember, if you buy a hug to keep as extra in the truck, they do expire. DEF will start growing mold after so old.

Welcome to Texas. A ton of Host Harvest there. Let me say, Llama Farm. One child off to college, two more to go. Most people are excited, but I did not want my kids to leave. I adore them and our time together, until, I see how they are flourishing and I get to visit my stuff, since when we sold the house, they got first dibs on everything.
Wait, Trish cooked in a Walmart parking lot, does the new rig have a generator?
Blue Beacon Truck Wash or Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wash & Wax so you can wash with the slides out. Most RV parks will let you wash on site or hook to hose cleaner such as 30 minute outdoor cleaner, which is an amazing product for the awnings!
I love the shrink wrap idea!

We've stayed four times at Oasis over last two years on our trips west. Great RV Stop. Big Texan Resturant, Amarillo is tourist stop but food is good. We use Blue Beacon Truck Wash to keep our coach clean all across country. Runs about $50 to $60 for 34 foot Motorhome. They do good job no matter what state we've been in. Located close to Truck Stops. I have seen Trailers and. 5th wheels being washed at their sites. Truckers have always been respectful to us when we are in line. My wife and I love your vids.

Just a little f.Y.I.. I have found that a lot of truck washes for big rigs will wash an R.V. also. They can be found near many truck stops and sometimes inside a truck stop. Blue Beacon is one name that comes to mind. I am a retired over the road truck driver myself so I have a bit of experience with them. I am also preparing for my own R.V. adventure's. I am starting out on the 6th of April to travel and see this great country of ours that I have driven past for so many years now. I hope to see y'all on the road someday. Welcome to Texas. We came down in our 5er in 2013 and somewhere around the 2nd day, I said I am never leaving! :). Lately I've been in the Dallas area but it's March Madness so I'm in Austin (SXSW just started btw) while he's immersed in b-ball in Dallas. 😉. Just a hint from us, get the Flying J Good Sam's card so you can fill and pay at the pumps and don't have to go in and give the credit card and guess how much fuel to pay for and then get reimbursed like you do at Loves. I was so happy to find out about that when we were in WI. OH, and definitely stop at Buc-ee's. You HAVE to experience one while down here! There's one over by TMS that is brand new. There's a nice size one in Temple and Bastrop east of Austin. They're all over. Might head over to the book depository. Give yourself at least half a day there! And Southfork Ranch in Parker. And you have great timing because the bluebonnets are just starting to bloom. The state flower and they don't last long but boy are they show along the highway as your driving! Enjoy time here. :)

Enjoy watching your adventures. You should try the Anderson levelers. Much easier than the yellow blocks...

Ramp those leveling blocks instead of trying to back onto 2 at one time and they'll stay put....start at one and step them up one at a time. Great video again...

Wished I'd known you were here. I live south about 15 miles. Hope you enjoyed Amarillo. The Palo Duro is worth seeing next time you're in this area. I really enjoy your Channel.

I love all your videos, but for some reason this one I enjoyed even more. Maybe because we were just in Texas with our rig for the first time, enjoying some of the same sights and hooking up and driving through the rain. We agree - love Texas! Glad you had time with extended family and wishing Tori and great week at college!

Oh wow how miserable! You need to throw those blocks in the garbage and get the Anderson levelers! They are like little ramp/wedges that are for leveling. We absolutely love ours and wouldn’t trade them for anything!!

Loved the RV park with the TT buried head-in like Cadillac ranch. (No doubt that was a tilt of the hat to the ranch. LOL) Another great video.

Dave Swaisgood maybe it is a fuel additive.

Diesel exhaust fluid. It is required to help the diesel burn cleaner.

DEF has a separate tank and is exhaust fluid. Doesn't mix with fuel. It keeps diesels from blowing black stinky exhaust as they used to do. Nearly every diesel uses it now. I like filling at truck stops because it is kept cool in the underground tanks and since the semis use it, their supplies are fresher. It can foul your system if it gets hot or old sitting around in those plastic jugs and that's really bad news. Also, much much less expensive at the pump.
