Its wierd watching someone on UA-cam talk about the town you live in and then see them in it. I personally dont own a Deere but I do know a few people who do and they love our local dealership. Yes almost every dealer and shop in town are struggling to find good technicians. glad you kept me updated on your tractor Andrew, the right to repair and the mom and pop tractor stores are neded very badly.hope you get it back soon cuz you're busy, again thank you.
Great news on the tractor. I think I paid $250+ in oil/parts to change the hydro fluid and 2 filters on my HST Kubota this summer and then still had the hassle of disposing the old fluid. So if a dealer will do it for about the same price...why not? I got rid of my non-emissions tractor this summer (after changing the fluid!) and got a newer emissions tractor and man, are they different! So much more "stuff" under the hood to break now.
Andrew, glad to hear they are getting you fixed. I work at the “other” Deere dealer in south Florida as a field tech and we also are having a hard time finding techs. Seems all the trades are short on workers. Again if you ever need help with the tractor let me know. Have a good week.

Great news on the tractor. I was already going to tell you that I could loan you an old Ford 4000 if needed in order to keep work up as that tractor is located only 3 hours north of Tallahassee. To be 57 years old the thing runs like a champ. It certainly isn't like that JD you have by any means, but it sure is nice to have a back up when needed. I'm really glad to hear of the great service you are getting and that you'll likely have your JD back in just a few days. Awesome that it is under warranty and that the fluid service turned out to be such a good deal too. Thanks for the video.
Our local Deere place got bought by Ag Pro also. I rarely deal with anyone other than the parts dept but it's the same good group of people they had under the previous owners.
Great video. Glad to know that your tractor is getting fixed. I spent years in farming and know the problems related to having a tractor down. Best wishes. Take care and God Bless.
Don't count your chickens yet, I had a similar occasion. I own a 2009 Volvo 780 Semi I converted to HDT rig and use as a tow vehicle for my RV as a travel nurse and the very first time I needed to get the oil changed after buying it, I called up the local Volvo dealer and asked about oil changes and they quoted me $105 over the phone. I was shocked because when I looked up the cost of the oil and such to do it myself, it was around $140 in parts alone... so I unhitched from the RV and drove 40ish miles to the local Volvo dealer, dropped it off, and waited for it and when I went to pay the bill they had $278 on the bill. I was confused, I told them they told me $105 over the phone and immediately they said ya... it's $105 per book hour from the book. So what they told me was the labor rate over the phone for the job, not the final cost of everything.
Hi Andrew, sounds like you have found an excellent tractor dealer. 👍 I think all of your viewers are elated you will be getting your JD 🚜 back soon and the sensor is under warranty. Get plenty of rest if you can and take care.
Awesome that you found a good dealer. Might be handy to send the tractor in once a year in downtime to get them to service it. Why do it yourself when the dealer does it at the right price and it gives then a chance to spot something that you might miss . Better to take a tractor out of service at a time to suit you than when you need it.
Because typically that's not the case. Usually dealers are very expensive around here with parts and hourly labor rates. Something was different this time 🤷
EGR systems, DEF, etc... it's bothered the heck out of me to the point of not buying a new tractor. Still running the 2003 Zetor Proxima I bought used about 15 years ago. It's an area that Mahindra, Massey Ferguson, and some others have worked to developed filter technology for some of the 75 HP and under tractors that doesn't require DEF and some of the problematic EGR systems monitoring that people see. It's a shame, but that just may keep me out of a new JD or Kubota.
That's awesome man, glad you had a good costumer service experience with them, that's getting hard to come by these days. Most places just wanna sell you something an get you out the door. But you are in a pretty good neck of the woods, Tallahassee is only about 40 minutes from my home town, Calhoun County lol.

How does the trailer do when towing it empty? Know some people have issues with them when they have no weight so found a simple cheat in the form of a water bladder as you can store them easy when empty and can easily add a few hundred pounds when needed. Look for the nearest Little Ceasers to them so you can pickup some pizzas to bring in to them. Very easy to keep them happy with you when you bring them snacks or lunch.
@@TKCL 8.34 pounds per gallon of water so 417 pounds of weight from a 50 gallon bladder or the full 834 pounds from a 100 gallon one.
