My one wheel has not worked in 2 months. I let it sit in the garage through winter... Thinking it was the battery, searched how to install a new one. There was a place right down the street from me that happened to sell after market batteries. After watching this, I went there to go buy a battery. There was a gentleman that helped me that looked familiar. Not thinking anything of it. I went home to install the battery. Wow this is a really impressive kit with pretty simple installation. Nice job. What if you offered a boardbank housing that we could drop our stock pint battery into? Then we would be able to stop and charge and our perfectly good pint battery wouldn't be wasted. 12 miles on the quart battery, stop for a break and get another 7 miles.
Hi guys! Love the battery, got it around 4 months ago and have gotten up to 20km of range with aggressive driving. One thing I could recommend you to add to the video or maybe change about the battery pack is the free space on the side of the battery pack where the wires run. My board wouldn't turn on lately so I investigated and figured out that due to this slight slack, the battery pack actually pulled enough on the xt60 cable coming from the controller to disconnect it completely. This is partially my fault because I frequently put the board down on its non-handle side, and in that position the battery weight hangs on those cables, me dunking the board against the pavement just made it worse. Everything works perfectly fine now that I've found the issue, and I filled out that empty space with a cut to size eraser but maybe the pack could come with some foam padding with adhesive on that particular side? Worst fear is the cable disconnecting mid-ride
This is a great video, but many steps are made to look very easy. at 2:45 'they might be a little tight' is a massive understatement. I don't have a high-power drill or the bit needed, so I ordered a wrench kit with the bit. Bit was fine, wrench underpowered, so I used a portable powered screwdriver - no dice. Used a higher powered rechargeable drill. Nothing. Finally went to a workshop that had a real drill. Meanwhile my disassembled Pint sat for weeks.

2 questions 1. Can you have the ow app open the whole duration of your ride or will it interfere with it? 2. Will the battery light bar on the pint tell you a good reading on how much battery you have left?
Battery light bar and onewheel app batter % are no longer accurate with this modification. You have to estimate the % left by looking at the voltage remaining on the battery in the OW app. Onewheel app works fine for the most part, but in my experience, ride recording unfortunately doesn't work correctly for unclear reasons.
When we got to the battery it required a specific drill bit to open it. We couldn’t find that but anywhere so we ended up voiding the ow warranty for nothing.

Whatever you do, don't buy the Quart S battery, it does not fit and Chi will tell you to take a hike, if you ask them for help.

$450 for the battery? Your kidding me right? Lol
your life will change when you can get credit cards. dont use them for dumb stuff. if you need some 450 battery boom np you have months to pay it off. i like the apple card but others have deals on apr.
@@clheppermann I rather buy the XR then buy a battery for a pint lol
@@maneeoocho350 I have a pint. It’s great but yes I wouldn’t buy a 450 just for the extra but when my stock battery looses its potential I would get the 450 as a replacement.
Batteries are expensive ... very expensive. You may be used to buying Chinese stuff that does not last or give the performance of a real product, but here we are talking about a very powerful and quality battery that should not explode or catch fire! In the world of hobbies there are indeed $ 30 3s lipo batteries that perform well, but generally they inflate quickly, catch fire! I even have an acquaintance, his garage caught fire because of this kind of shitty battery.
Very expensive battery. Exactly what makes this so expensive??. .By the way, just add another couple of hundred dollars more to the Pint price and you get yourself an XR.
Cause you did not take the time to order the cells and make your own battery.
@J d Bro why you mad it’s a great product. If you can put together something then offer if super cheap why don’t you do it
@@RemingtonTerritory I am one with onewheel, onewheel is one with me. I am calm. I am too busy riding, no time to put something together. I will buy the battery when my one pint battery is degraded. I think it is a better deal than getting a new one from Onewheel.
@@Jd-zd6bh absolutely better to get a new battery, their pint battery upgrade gives xr range. :)
I was totally misled by this. You make it seem very simple when it is not. The security drillbit can not be bought at any traditional stores. I have gone to 3 different ones today that all did not have them. You should stress this more rather than mislead everyone. Now my board is in pieces and I have to wait a week for them to ship to me. Kind of ridiculous.
What bit did you end up ordering. Im in the same situation. Crazy that noone mentions that you need this specialized bit.

these bits worked great for me after 2 faulty bits i tried.
You actually disassembled the board without having the necessary equipment at first? Did you not watch the entire video before the installation? Don't jump the gun and next time do some more third party research before your tear apart your $1k+ toy.
What a loser.
