I would pick the Tucson over the new sportage any day, prefer the features of the Sportage and its interior look but exterior, ride quality, build quality and material quality are significantly better in the Tucson. Feels like a more solid car, ordered the Tucson PHEV yesterday, fully loaded but in my country it comes with a 9 speaker sony system which sounds incredible. Very happy with my decision! Will be recieving it in 2 weeks.
Some people here complaining about the speakers sounding average are forgetting the fact that the speakers need to burn in for atleast 100 hours before they open up and sound good. I found this Bose system to be very good
Well, I think "no highs, no lows, must be Bose!" no longer applies to many cars. My father's 06 Cadillac SRX was all base, but his 14 XTS with the 14-speaker system is impressive.
Great review, thanks. I am really interested in a similar review of the Harman Kardon as fitted to the Renault Austral. Have you reviewed this or are thinking of doing so? Would really like to know your comparison opinion. Thanks again.

Factory systems, no matter how expensive, will never be as good as what you can do with aftermarket for half the price. Next time you buy a car, get the lowest stereo option, take the money it would have cost for the upgraded stereo and you can build something incredible. You can use the savings to do more sound deadening and make your car even quieter.

Have you tried using Dynamic Voice Recognition technology to use the function for volume, tuning, etc.? I think that's Hyundai's response to no volume and tuning knobs. Also, the lower trims with the smaller screen has the volume and tuning knobs function.
@@DailyMotor Passengers can connect to their phones via Bluetooth for media purposes. To be honest, no one really listen to the radio anymore. That's what I think the passengers may need that tuning knob functionality. I take many road trips to know how all of this operates. People just get freaked out about not having knobs because it's what they are accustomed to. Hyundai have an advantage to go full touch because they have the Tesla-like technology that will keep drivers more focused on the road and not be too dependent on reaching for knobs. But Hyundai still give you options. If knobs must, get a lower trim. Which most of consumers will buy a SE or SEL trim packages. Someone who is very tech savvy myself will go for the Limited trims .
Im not impressed at all with the system. Above all, there is no independent subwoofer bass control. My wife's 2017 mitsu outlander stock system (rockford fosgate) has soooo many sound controls features (including subwoofer control), but I digress. There is no individual seat time alignment or front seat time alignment feature to tweak. A simple 5 band EQ would make a nice difference too, but this Bose system only has the typical bass, midrange and treble. This video doesn't mention that the amp/processor is under the front driver seat with a protective cover. it this video doesn't mention the speaker's size, nor does it go into the functionality of the center channel and whether it is tied to phone calls, general music playback, or both. That should part of a system review in my opinion. From what I could find, 1 inch tweets on dash and center channel, 6.5 in the doors, and a 9 inch sub in the back (yes, 9 inch). No details are given here nor by Bose on the wattage (RMS or Peak). I mean I don't expect crossover details to be provided, but it would be nice to know (I guess average consumer doesn't even know what that is) as well. Also, having no sound presets like (club, rock, rap, jazz, classical, etc.) makes the system even less functional to tweak things. I guess that is my biggest gripe....there is no tweaking apart from individual speaker volume and 3 presets, but come on.....if a car is built with a subwoofer, one should be able to be given independent control over it (even if done so with speaker protection features built into the adjustment); otherwise, there is no point except some low end around 40-60 hertz with higher volume levels. I will be replacing the entire system with aftermarket. Bose, didn't do much with this system and it is no wonder why they typically don't try to release specs....they are mostly hype. I am tempted to do an RTA and to post results, but what is the point. the bose premium system isn't worth your time if you are an audiophile or want to tweak anything. If you want a slightly more balanced system and clean sounding system, then this will do. Not that this is any suprise.

Really. When you purchase a vehicle you should test drive it or at least sit in it and look at the controls. Therefore, at least in 99% of the purchases a person KNOWS there is NO volume or channel control KNOB to play with. So it is really immaterial to complain afterward. Like purchasing a red vehicle to complain a day later it should have been another color. If a reviewer points it out is one thing but to make your comment is ludicrous.
