Am I the only one who kind of wants to see bloopers
NOPE I DO TOO
I would love to see bloopers from this movie!! ^^
Nope.. that would be awesome.
I would love to see the bloopers!!!!
Yes omg that would be amazing
I think the part at 3:54 where gerry says "if you can abandon yourself to that romantic notion that you love somebody so much and if somebody loved you that much that you almost just want to forget about everything else" is the one of the biggest reasons people choose the phantom over raoul. The phantom just has so much passion.
I don't prefer the Phantom at all, he's a murderer and Raoul is cute
Truth.
I love Gerard, he's just sooo kind with Emmy. He said: " a star is born".
ayyy a star is born
the phantom of the opera has almost become an obsession. it hit me hard and wormed its way into my heart and soul. even seeing behind the scenes and constantly reminded it's all fiction, I still fantasize how the movie should have ended and my heart bleeds for the Phantom as I know what it's like to be judged and misunderstood. by far my most favorite movie despite that no matter how many times I see it, it always leaves me in tears. Gerard Butler forever!
bitch i got you you described me :(
Guys, you're describing my whole life!! Since i've watched it i'm so obsessed with it and i'm still waiting for someone who sings to me and let me fall in trance
I'm obsessed too. I also saw it on Broadway first....4th row, center stage. I actually ducked when the chandelier dropped because it landed only about 4 inches from my head. then when the movie came out, it starred one of my favorites, sexy Gerard, and I had seen some of the other cast members in other films, so I knew it was also to become a favorite.
@@sharon102645 Oh my god, i will see it on my birthday in a big theater and i'm so excited😍
Kittymom1026 you were so lucky :(
Emmy Rossum was only 16 when they filmed this? What?! That's amazing!
No, here she was 18 years old.
Samantha Friginal 16 while auditioning, 17 while filming and 18 in interviews
I HAVE A CHANCE!
Samantha Friginal christine is 16 though!
@Delightful Scandals lol it's disturbing but romantic idk hahaha
And this is why Gerry will always be my favorite Phantom. He literally transforms himself into the Phantom to play the Phantom. It's beautiful. 😭🎭
Too bad that half mask is a total cancer, I mean come on even a non musical fan like me knows it's a complete mask.
Juliette Aurora Yeah like he's not my top favorite but definitely one of my favorites because his acting is out of this world. There are plenty of phantoms who can sing but completely lack in passion. Gerard's not-so-bad-but-damn-sexy voice with his I'm-who's-boss acting/passion makes him a great phantom.
Matt Scott It’s a half mask in the broadway musical that this movie is based on. On promotional material, the full mask is depicted because that was made before they decided to go with the half mask to allow the Phantom to sing easier and show more emotion.
If you really enjoy phantoms that devote themselves to the role, I high recommend listening to Ramin Karimloo. He digs into this role far more intensely than I have ever seen or heard. Michael Crawford and Hugh Parano are definitely up there as well. I am far from a fan of Gerards singing, but I have always commended the emotion he puts into the role. But when you get actors who possess both, it just sends chills up your spine. I totally recommend giving any of the three a listen or all. It will be worth the time.
@@theonlybingledingle ramin is good but i think gerard did amazing as the phantom
I saw this when I was 7. I am 19 and still is my favourite movie. The songs give me so many emotions and chills.Incredible voices, coregraphy, actors and the list can go on. Very well made movie.
I was born the year it came out
I’m not 19 but I also saw this when I was 7 too!
Andrew Lloyd Webber's The PHANTOM of the OPERA (2004) is my favorite musical movie of all time, yes I love the songs, incredible voices and performances from the cast including Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum, and Patrick Wilson, I love the choreography, sets and costumes, cinematography, and music.
@@diekleine5238 I was born three weeks after it premiered lol
I was 9. It was genuinely haunting and at that age and I think that's part of why I fell in love with it. Was scary but couldn't look away.
Ive watched a couple versions of POTO, & others may not agree with me, but I feel like Gerard was an AMAZING Phantom & I feel the reason for that is because he didn’t have a musical theatre background, so he took the role seriously & went full blown into it. The result was a very passionate & intense delivery where you could feel how invested he was in taking an iconic figure & putting his stamp on it, while honoring the understanding that people had of the phantom.
Whereas those with the opera vocal chops had to do more with the acting side; which is a combination of vocal & physical convincing. I feel like so many phantoms that I see fall flat in comparison to Gerard’s clearly passionate performance.
YOU ARE AMAZING
Gerard was FANTASIC!!!! I wasn't sure about him before seeing the movie, but fell in love the moment I saw him on screen!!!!
I heard that Andrew hand picked gerard for the role, because he liked the rock edge to his voice, and had always wanted it to have a rock edge. Gerard gave it that in spades!
Jana Snowdon right & Gerard didn’t even have a vocal training background! He just had a very mailable vocal skill that came natural & what they did give him by way of any training worked really well with the role.
It sure did!!
erik doesnt deserve so much loneliness
True, but that does not excuse how he acted. It just makes it more tragic at how it could have been prevented.
Nobody does
He really doesn’t, the ending still breaks my heart even after a decade of watching this movie. Gerard’s emotional range while acting is insanely good, and his crestfallen, teary eyes make my chest ache every time 😭💗
Ugh I love Gerald Butler as the Phantom no matter what anyone says
Rest In Peace Joel Schumacher - what a filmography and Phantom was your last big release, I wish it got more praise, he deserved it.
He'll be missed and yes it deserve more praise
I really feel bad for Joel. His name is often attached to flops, but it seems like any of them were hardly his fault. If you just watch this movie, without any bias towards the stage production, it’s very easy to see that he was quite a talented and passionate man with a very unique eye for filmmaking. And it looks like here that the whole cast and crew genuinely enjoyed working with him. I certainly would have.
I can’t believe it’s been 14 years. The movie was made when I was just little.
The movie came out when I was born!!!
I was 13. I still love watching it and get nostalgia lol.
Dark Angel I wasn’t even born 😂😂
It was made the year before I was born and I’ve been watching it ever since my mom made me watch it when I was a baby, lol. When I was 4, I was terrified to look in the mirror because I thought the phantom might appear. 😂😂
I absolutely love the Phantom of the Opera. I love Christine Daae, it just hits me like "how can people handle doing opera for over a hour"
I' ve become obsessed with this masterpiece , cant stop watching it. Gerard butler is the most lovable phantom of them all.
My mom has been playing this movie on dvd since I was a kid. Now I'm 17 and I'm madly in love with this movie and the story and even went to the musical.
Though I've seen the Broadway production numerous times, I much prefer the movie..it is exquisite! It might be my personal love for Gerard Butler, but, he made the role of the Phantom his own. Portrayed with enormous passion, and yet, bringing an entirely different nuance to the role, he was outstanding! Kudos to Emmy Rossum, Patrick Wilson and Minnie Driver..the entire cast was absolute perfection. I could watch this movie every day, and never tire of it. Thanks to the great Andrew Lloyd Weber and genius Joel Schumacher (RIP).
POTO forever!! 🤗❤️🌹
Such a gorgeous movie, grew up watching it & so will my kids. Love it to bits
The Phantom of the Opera is a story from light and shadow and darkness. Christine's love changed him. The Phantom became a better man, for quite a while
Ingrid Edmunde Let’s not forget that he almost raped her on stage, though
@@bitchass7198 where??
*Overture plays
Me: YESSSSSSSSS I LIVEEEEEEEE
My favorite movie and the best casting!! BEST PHANTOM AND CHRISTINE AND RAOUL.
루시아 Did anyone else think that Emmy Rossum’s expressions were so often blank and without personality or passion. I did.
I don't care what people say, this film will forever remain ICONIC.
Gerard Butler is the best phantom, he might not have the most stunning vocals but the emotions were perfectly delivered in such a beautiful way
I loved the movie more than the musical
Emmy was only 16 when she made the movie? Wow
Same!!
Me too
Claire Smith thank god I’m not the only one
Everytime I see The Phantom I'm mesmerised by him xD
I can't believe its been 12 years since it's release in 2004! And soon in 1 month and 42 days it'll have been here for over 12 years and 11 months. I wonder when its next anniversary is? This movie is quite charming and I own it on dvd and the only way I knew it exited was from middle schools which was like 11 years ago and I instantly fell in love with and was able to get it when it had been out on DVD. Its one of those movies where you can just watch it over and over again and always have a smile on your face like I do. :)
Anderson Studios 101 lucky you :)
You know you can still buy it from any retailer that has it. I am planning on watching it on the 22 of December because that was its release date.
Anderson Studios 101 may be I might :) hope you have a good time watching it. It's a pleasure to own a copy of your own.
@@TennesseeAnderson I have it on DVD and I love it so much, in 2024 it's gonna be 20 years since this movie was made and I hope it will have a 20th Anniversary DVD release.

When I was little my parents watched this late at night just below my bedroom and I was annoyed it was keeping me awake, but ended up watching it with them. Now I find the music so comforting that I use it to fall asleep. Love this musical forever and always
Every time I watch this movie I am moved and feel something very intenseOne of my all time favorite movies. While I have never seen all the other versionsOf this story, which I would like to someday, i still think this will be my favorite :0)

Emmy is my favorite Christine. Her voice is amazing! And the film is what Gaston Leroux envisioned in the novel.
I FORGOT ITS A FICTION. AFTER I WATCH THIS MOVIE AGAIN I COME HERE TO ENSURE ITS NOT REAL,BUT AN ACTING. IM SO OBSESSED!!
This movie is amazing! I was pretty much raised on Phantom of the Opera, when this movie premiered in 2004, my mom and I saw it on Christmas Eve and when we came out of the theater it was snowing (which is rare in Houston). Love this movie, I love this musical so much!
This movie is so sad. But, in all the movies, the actors have fun
And it is such a beautiful and well done movie. It's my all time fav
Gorgeously done film! ------I loved it, & to me Emmy is Christine--------Gerard is the best Phantom-------& Patrick Wilson is perfect as Raoul. ------------------Beautifully filmed, atmospheric, & irresistible. ---------------------------WolfSky9, 72 y/o
It is my favorite musical movie of all time Emmy Rossum, Gerard Butler, and Patrick Wilson did a great job in their performances, the film is beautiful especially wonderfully beautiful sets and costumes, amazing music and songs, and great cinematography and editing.
The Phantom of the Opera has the best transitions, you can’t convince me otherwise
Ok guys I need help I've seen all of the phantom videos on UA-cam like seriously I'm NOT JOKING and I have and seen all of the movies of all of the types of phantom movies I have the phantom mask and I have pictures and posters all over my room and I have a phantom shirt plus I've memorized all of the songs and can sing them by heart and without even having the movie or the musical on I can say all of the lines of the movie and act it out in my room so that's what I do when I don't watch the movie cause it's the same thing except it's just me and there's no other good voices cause mines like terrible I just LOVE PHANTOM ITS MY LIFEEEEEE Oh and you also can't forget the FABULOUS MUSICAL
Dude i feel you. Me too
Ikr LOL
I LOVE AND RESPECT YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS
I feel you.
Mint Studios i can relate to you! I am so in love with the opera! I think it's the most romantic of all love stories!
I discovered it back in 2004 also. When it was 1st aired in channel 23 and I was 7 at the time. I can only understand parts of the movie but I managed to finish it and like it (because of Christine's voice and beauty) now I'm 23. And it's still my favorite along with Pan's Labyrinth.
I love both Andrew Lloyd Webber's The PHANTOM of the OPERA (2004) and pan's labyrinth.
I had no idea for a long time she was 16! I saw this when I was really little. She’s amazing in shameless too guys if you’re looking for a good show. She’s outstanding with her emotions and acting and of course her beauty is out of this world! I knew her through this movie and I’m glad she’s still Acting. My favorite actress for sure.
I love the movie so much that when I watch it I always put the closed captioning so I can sing a long
THIS MOVIE IS TIMELESS
I watched Phantom of the Opera on Broadway for the first time 12/22/2019... I was floored. Absolutely hit with so much emotion. Incredible!!! Theater live and movie. Just so much emotion! So much quality talent!
She carries herself so eloquently for a 16 yr old - Brava! Spoke better than most 17 yr old in Disney for sure! Not one "um"
This is my fav movie ever. I watch it every week or every month, I think I need It to be happy 💗
One of the best movies for me... I was in college back this was first released in cinemas.. its 2019 and wow the feelings r so same..
gerard is the best phantom
Too bad that half mask is cancer
@@SmoothCriminal12 i think its fine. Yes you can have your opinion but calling it cancer is over the top.

I absolutely love phantom of the opera every time I watch it I become so much a part of it. It never gets old it's just amazing how it makes you feel.
My first ever experience of phantom was at a very early age when it aired on TV in black and white. Was lost in its amazement of the content. When this version came out, my children were taken in by the songs and the film took them to the limit of appreciation of the movie. Totally smitten from the first note ❤❤❤
3:38 I yated my yatte ! Minnie Driver should at least getting nominate for this film.. They done teriffic job for gathering all the right ensembles for this masterpiece ... Gerard, Emmy, Patrick, Minnie, Miranda etc gave outstanding performances! I am so glad I get the 3-dics special box vcd set when it comes out. Because where I live, it is impossible to attend the play. Those are my beloving treasure forever
Augh Bable I know I love her complaining about her dress and how much she hates her hat 🤣
my job is to hire people far more talented then me.
hailey tester It is actually a very smart way to approach life in general.
Yeah, and people who do things like that make the best bosses, hands down.
seriously this is also what i noticed of all the things he had said; truly a remarkable man
Is anyone planning on watching the Phantom of the opera on December 22? Because that was in it was released.
s M do you have your own copy? Or even on digital?
Anderson Studios 101 that’s my uncle’s birthday 😀
I think Andrew Lloyd Webber did an amazing job on the music. I think he’s a great person who does the music. I’ve never seen the movie before. I think they did great 👍 and wonderful.

Your Phantom is showing
lolol
I'd like to see them all again in " Love Never Dies" as a Movie !!!
YES
My gosh i am in love with this musical
The fact that I’m the same age that Emmy is while she filmed this movie is actually insane! It really gives me a perspective of how young she really was and how crazy filming the love triangle must’ve been 😍😫
Great casting and great visuals
I was five years old when I saw the trailer for this movie. As soon as I saw it I wanted to see the movie but my mom wouldn't let me lmao.
The fact that I’m the age Emmy was when filming the movie-😭❤️
GOOD NOW please DO LOVE NEVER DIES WITH ORIGINAL CAST 😭😭😭
This is what I want too
can’t believe that patrick wilson is raoul and the dad from insidious AND ed warren! crazy!!!
He started astral projection since then 😂
The Phantom Of The Opera 2004
One of my favorite movies and the best casting!! BEST PHANTOM AND CHRISTINE AND RAOUL
I love both the movie and musical 💖
I never saw more than a couple scenes from the movie since it’s orig release , but knew a couple songs. The other day I saw an action move w/Gerry in it & told my mom & he can sing too. It made me think of this,so went bought dvd on eBay & finally saw entire movie. I think some of the overture is played too much but loved it & Ger. Since 2019 was 15 years they should re-release movie w/Gerrys deleted scene/song “no one would listen” added in.
Oh my....I love this movie!
Truly a masterpiece!
I WISH I WAS EMMY AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love a copy of this CD.
I love this movie. Patrick Wilson 😍😍😍
A popular opinion: Christine should be with the Phantom.
Every time he touches her, she looks like she is loving it Lmal. Does she not think of Raoul?
I didn't know what Gerard Butler look like, also didn't know he was Scottish, he speaks a few words in the movie and he sounded American to me. "Come, the two fools who run my theater will be expecting you." Edit: Listening to it again it does sound British but pretty subtle.
改めて素晴らしい映画だなぁと思った

Damn i hate carlotta very much but the artist who play here as carlotta is very humble
0:53 ohhhhhh Patrick Wilson Raoul is so handsome and cute
After hearing other singers, I can't stand a guys voice being higher pitched than Gerard's in "The Phantom of the Opera" tbh although they are all amazing opera singers
Damn I wasn't born when this was made 😂
Is it just me or does the phantom actually possess you when he listen to his music I think he does lol because he possessed Christine and me lol

Minnie Driver and Miranda Richardson were the best parts of the film.
