100% rolling works of high art. How I love art deco. Chrysler and DeSoto's were the perfect intelligent masterpieces! My heart is melting for that time in America.
I LOVE Chrysler and DeSoto "Airflows"! These were THE FUTURE that MANY people WERE NOT "accepting" in "the day"! Most 40's- on automobiles USED this GREAT CONCEPT!
There were more 4 door cars made compared to the 2 door models. Here's some more history www.airflowclub.com/history-of-airflows#:~:text=Airflows%20were%20more%20expensive%20than%20Airstreams%2C%20and%20both,era.%20All%20told%2C%20about%2055%2C000%20Airflows%20were%20produced.
Sometimes a car has so many needs/missing original components, that it's just not feasible to restore back to original condition. That's the motivation for what ends up being a "resto mod". Yes, the 34's are spectacular with the waterfall grille.
As we say down South - I want One!

That's exactly right!

Way ahead of their time in mechanical engineering and design.
An excellent video showing all models. These were interesting cars. Job well done.
Thanks! And yes, they are amazing cars.
us kids called these cars " Buck Rogers" , cars.
Art Deco Heaven! Sad they weren’t appreciated more by the buying public at the time.
I wonder what the vents and open windshield did to it's aerodynamics.
I'm sure it was nice on a hot day in New York.
Certainly not helpful to the car's aerodynamics, but I've used those vents and they are effective at cooling the cabin. Thanks!
Perhaps it "hurt" aerodynamics, but HELPED drivers/passengers LOTS!
Great video! Thanks for posting. Amazing cars, far ahead of their time. (Too far unfortunately)
Thanks! And yes, the public wasn't quite ready for such an advanced design.
HOW RARE ARE THE 4 DOOR CARS?

@@alvinsautos7527 Hey thanks! There is a 34' Desoto 4 door airflow for sale near me, in need of total restoration. I was thinking about grabbing it.
I hate seeing the resto mods. The originals are best especially 34 almost looks like every modern suv
