You are literally the only other person I’ve found who obsesses over something, then wakes up with absolutely no interest in it. I literally spend like 2 weeks where my brain only thinks about that one thing- my first thought waking up and my last going to sleep...and then it’s just gone. I really want to be able to stick at something and not completely lose interest in it every time.

“I wanted to lose the emotional weight” - this is so true. 2 years ago I lost a lot of weight and while I looked better in clothes, I was so much happier and healthier. I realised that’s what really matters. Thanks for sharing your experience for us to relate to, through all the ups and downs, I feel a lot more ready to change my life! 😊

I have watched (no exaggeration) possibly hundreds of weight loss videos. I have never been able to relate to one so much in the years I’ve watched them. This has pushed me SO much. I’ve always felt “ok” in clothes but whenever I’ve looked at myself undressed in the mirror I have felt so much sadness and you’ve completely hit the nail on the head where you said that you are looking at all the emotion built up in your body...honestly this video is amazing. Thank you so much and well done, you’ve done absolutely amazing!❤️

1dday if you want to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit. First take a look at your daily foods, takeouts, fizzy drinks and alcohol. Slowly begin to cut these out of your diet, one of the biggest mistakes people make is they drink their calories! Milkshakes gotta go. Once you’ve cut out all this junk food then go look at your daily calories burnt I.e your everyday activities. Believe it or not this is actually the easier one to maintain, so you need to make sure you’re burning more calories than your body requires to maintain weight, the fastest way to actually burn calories is by HIIT and weight lifting however you can start by making small changes such as walking every morning and night starting at maybe 3k in the morning and 3k at night. Start doing more household chores such as cleaning the house and dishes. Once you feel ready it’s gym time! Weightlifting is a bit different for men and women due to testosterone and the whole mess so you’re going to see these guys throwing up these huge weights and it can be quite intimidating but DONT LET IT GET YOU DOWN!!!! Focus on you in there you can find workout plans online easily but for the most part you can follow a simple a push pull legs routine working out 3 times a week and keep up with your walking as it goes on. This is just a short outline on how to really get started on losing weight but most importantly you’ve gotta flip that switch in you that’s says “I want to lose weight, I am going to lose weight”. I believe in you you’ve got this!

how to tell you, you made me realize how sad i am, not happy, lost in my head, i feel bad. I knew it, but I always tried to hide it. I live but I am empty from the inside I live for others I wanted to lose weight for others. I cried several times while watching your video. With your journey and thanks to your words I understood that I had to change my vision of my body from my mind and start to be happy not to go into jeans but to feel good morally. I want to have a goal in my life, I want to be healthy, I want to get out of this depression that sticks to my skin. Thanks for this testimony. i will change and be a happy person. I will come back to you in maybe a few months or a year with my progress. and I will thank you with all my soul, my heart. I am determined and I can do it.

Your story really hit me. It's almost the exact same as mine. I'm stuck in the gaining weight, feeling miserable, lonely, comfort eating routine. Constantly going in and out of different ways to lose weight, on a weekly basing and its only making me gain more weight and feel even more miserable. I've never seen a fitness journey video quite like this one. One that focuses purely on the mental side of things instead of the physical side of things. Seeing the complete 360 in someones state of mind and not just the physical change. This is not only motivating but its inspiring!
This is exactly what i've been searching years for. This is what I needed. I can do this, I can get healthy. Mentally.

So I'm currently going through a really tough time, I'm 18, my mums really unwell and I'm looking after her by myself and I've not been sleeping more than 3 hours everyday while doing (and currently failing) ALevels. My mental health is awful and I'm borderline anorexic. I know we're starting in different physical conditions but I feel like you were in a similar mental place to where I am now.
I really want to get better, I've been fainting a lot, not eating enough and what I do eat is just chocolate.
I'm going to get better. I'm going to start eating a bit more and making myself meals before trying to build muscle. I need to get better so that I can help my mum to get better and get through chemo. I'm at my lowest now but you've sort of given me a wake up call that I've got one chance at life and I should take it.

The way you talk about emotional weight is actually amazing and really hit home. Absolutely love that you mentioned how weight gain is a direct manifestation of how you were feeling (sad, depressed) depicted on your body. I 100% felt that. So much of weight loss comes down to self love. ❤️

Such an inspiration Emma!! For 15 years I have been suffering with depression and ptsd of sexual abuse as a child. And you are right my overweight body reflects that emotional pain. Everyday my body hurts because I have a tense pelvic floor and tensed back all the time. I am 27 but feel like a 60 year old. I am seeing a psychotherapist, hapto-therapist and physiotherapist to try and tackle this once and for all.

This sounds like my story so much! I was always overweight as a young girl and was horribly bullied. After high school I began to starve my self and became anorexic.
I met my ex and we had two children and have gone up and down in my weight.
I left their father after 17 years of domestic violence and took my kids and moved in with my mother.
I have just begun a wellness, fitness journey. I have hit 200lbs and I am so so sick of it!! I want to make changes that stick and that are healthy not starving myself! I am going to be 38 on the 21st of January. So my body has changed a lot and it not as easy for me to just drop weight. Thank you for your story and for helping those of us who feel like we are alone!! ❤❤Bless you!

❤️oh emma. I’ve watched you for years and I don’t know you but it feels like I’m watching a friend and I couldn’t be more proud. I welled up seeing you cross the line at the 10k. I’ve never been into fitness my self but I’ve never been overweight. I gained weight over the last few years only a tiny bit like my arms were a bit soft and my double chin was a bit more noticeable than I would like but then I’ve recently gone vegan(except chocolate) and now I’ve lost weight again. At first I felt good but now I realise I actually want to be strong. I can’t afford the gym and school tires me and makes me feel like I don’t have time. But I’m really gonna try I need it for my head. My grandad died five months ago and it’s only getting harder. I need something to feel proud of. Good luck with everything emma 😊 you’re amazing. This is honestly so inspiring! I have always struggled with my weight. Been going to the gym on and off for 5 years and can't stick to it. I've had PTs and still struggle. I piled on 2 stone in 2018 in my previous job and I was at my heaviest. Between January - April 2019 I lost a stone and since then I haven't been able to shift any more weight. I'm now in a more physical job which keeps me somewhat fit but as you said, I'm using more energy so I eat more. I get home, eat again and just go to bed. I to have always binge ate and eat when I'm bored and comfort eat 😪 I have now, quit the gym AGAIN because I've lost all motivation and I can't seem to get it back 😔 I don't know how you do it and wish I had your motivation. You look unbelievable!

I found your channel when trying to find ‘bigger girl’ clothing hauls to see what would fit my new body (I put a lot of weight in during pregnancy and kept it on) and you gave me so much confidence. But you’ve also been the only person that has admitted that you can preach body positivity while being bigger, while appreciating that you also need to be mentally healthy which you realised you weren’t being. Losing this weight doesn’t mean you hated your body, it was about realising you weren’t mentally healthy and mentally strong. Your journey is honestly so inspiring. I’ve not changed my lifestyle because I thought it would mean I was going back on me saying I don’t mind being a bigger girl now, but I’m so unhealthy that I am going to be following your tips for the physical and mental help rather than focusing on weight loss numbers ❤️

So this video had me crying the whole time. Everything you said struck a cord with me big time. When you said you wanted to get rid of the emotional weight because you see it every day. I went from a size 8/10 to a 18 over the course of 7 years and I have maintained that gross weight for 3 years. I’m depressed and massively over weight and I need to make a change big time. I’m going to implement a lot of the things you said. I’m going to use this lock down to get my head in the right place. Thank you for being such an inspiration xx

I was listening my whole life. But the difference was that I was raised in a family where the mental problems are for the weak and there is nothing wrong with me. Every time I was trying to reach for a help I was getting this "you are super sensitive and it is not the way you see it". I was having so many problems without someone to hear me. Before less than 1year I have moved out in a different coutry without parents, all alone. And then I just saw myself as a beautiful girl in the mirror. The past months I was working to heal my wounds, my mental health but I didnt know how to start. To be honest, I am still in the beginning. But I hired a personal nutrituinist(sry idk how to write this word) and today is my first day when I will do a lifting workout. I hope all of you are healing yourself and you lovely Emma, be blessed and thank you for sharing your story with us :)

I’ve recently just started my fitness journey myself and this video has just SOLIDIFIED it into my life and will continue to inspire me for years to come. I hope to get to where you are someday, not just physically but mostly mentally. Thank you and God Bless you!!

Emma, you are amazing and you are so inspiring! I started healthier eating on 23rd January, so far lost 8.5lb, and want to start incorporating some exercise. Something I am fearful off as I know I cant run etc currently, so I am going to start small. I am going to make it my goal to build up to be able to do a park run in the summer. Love the idea of setting non weight related goals, I want to feel that pride when I can say I have managed to run 3k! You have inspired me, keep up the good work!

Watching this video made me tear up a little, not because it was sad but because everything you were saying about your personal relationship with your body, mind, health, and fitness was all just very relatable to my life and the current journey I'm on so it really hit deep. Currently I'm on a fitness journey myself, my goal is to lose weight and build muscle, but my main goal that keeps me going is to overcome the emotional baggage that has always held me back as I grew up. I wanna be able to heal, love, and piece myself back together through this journey.
So far, I've lost 53 lbs and I still have some more to go, but besides the number, the way I carry myself now is so much healthier than before. I feel beyond proud and happy for myself on the inside because this kind of achievement could never be represented through a number. Slowly, but surely I'll get there. Hearing your story I was able to reconfirm this thought/resolve of mine, the belief I know I have in myself, so thank you.

This is one of the most positive, healthy weight loss videos I’ve ever seen! Your attitude is amazing and your approach is really inspiring. It’ll last because you’ve focussed on the important things regarding your health and seen the weight loss as a side effect and you can tell you’re totally in that healthy mindset now. Well done Emma ⭐️❤️

I don't think I've ever related to someone more in so many ways. With you saying how flippant you were with your motivation/interests, your disordered eating in your past, holding onto emotional weight... I've been starting to view my body and health in general very different lately and focus more on feeling good rather than looking a certain way or weighing a certain amount, and this video just helped me grasp so many things. Thank you so much for making this.

It shouldn't matter - you're lovely when you're less fit and fatter. HOWEVER, no denying that it's quite amazing to see how we view the lean, fit person differently. We have a whole different idea of who they are, yet inside you're exactly the same person. I think it's awesome to have a project - something to throw yourself into, work hard and be rewarded with something you carry around with you everywhere you go! The reality is that whatever we say we DO respond to fit, lean people more positively and we DO FEEL better when we're fit and lean. Also, research shows over and over that we're much healthier when we're in great shape. Keep hold of it for the rest of your life xx

This resonates with me so much. Just left a busy retail job where I was miserable with work and my houseshare...eating horribly, but busy days at work almost equaled that out. Moved back home in March, got a desk job and whilst I'm not eating as bad, I am barely moving. And whilst I am so much happier with my new job and living situation, I am just not exercising! Thank you for giving me the kick up the bum I need. All the best x

Watching this makes me super happy! I've been watching a fair amount of transformation videos over the past 5 weeks to keep motivating myself on my fitness journey. I've been doing plenty of research on becoming more fit and healthy, and this video inspires me so much because it is someone actually putting into action small changes over a long period of time. Girl I feel like you’re literally yelling my story!!! I also on a random day (July 21, 2019) decided enough is enough. I decided I wanted to be a gym girl lol and most importantly that I want to be healthy. Looks was a big part of it. But 8 months and 50 lbs later my emotional and mental transformation has been the craziest. I love working out and see food differently. I won’t lie tho this quarantine is fuçking with me. Especially not being able to hit the gym. But I’m adjusting and I know I’ll make it to the others side. Great job woman!
