Craven was such a talented story teller.. With this and Music of the Heart he has proved he could do so much more than horror. If only he had a chance to develope himself more outside the genre. RIP Wes Craven. his legacy in horror is immeasurable.
I love the last line, it's so in keeping with the theme of the vignette: "I'll make you laugh..." :) This vignette feels like Wes Craven thoroughly explored his wit and humor and guilty pleasure of rom-coms. Bravo sir :D
What a wonderful little vignette?! I loved the pairing of these two quirky characters and immediately fell in love. I wanted to hear their whole story and was disappointed to find this was all there was. I thought the whole movie would be about them, and I still wish it could've been though I can't imagine two such opposites staying together long. Wes Craven could've made an amazing full movie from this small idea.
@@marcelacristinarametta6395 YES!!! I loved that one. Back in Aug of 2015, my then gf and I went to France to visit her family, and it was great seeing those familiar places in real life, from this movie.
Other filmmakers I wished did an anthology movie on this: Alejandro Inniarritu, Guillermo Del Toro, Bong Joon Ho, David Fincher, James Gunn, Christopher Nolan, Paul Thomas Anderson, Richard Linklater and I can't even list how many more
So you didnt realize that BOTH the young man's quotes are Wildes? One was said to Frank Harris when he tried to talk him out of testifying and the othet is from Lady Windermere's Fan. So we damn sure better be ok. Our hero just had to find his inner Oscar. See, when he died God gave him SAS ( special angel status) to look out for lovers And little birds.
I have been to this semitary 3 times, and yes to lrave my lipstick 💋 on it from my lips pressing on a tissue first, and on his tombstone. I choose to stay in the hostel walking distance from here. I visited Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf and Oscar Wilde. Next time I visit, i will pay my respect to my favorite French actor, the late Gaspard Ulielle 😢, gone too soon
I'm a big Wes Craven fan, but I got a little dissapointed with this. I knew it wouldn't be something like "Nightmare on Elm Street" but I was hoping for something...cool
I am huge fan of Craven as well, and I am glad he was a part of this project. This short flick is pretty solid, and very warm hearted. And it is defenitely cool ;). Wes Craven struggled a lot to create outside of the horror genre. He managed to do Music Of The Heart, as part of the deal with the studio (Scream sequels for an option to choose nongenre movie). But he mentioned it was extremly hard to sell the drama under his name. Later on he managed to do this piece. And after studio fucked him and Kevin Williamson with huge interference in Cursed, Craven's phone stopped ringing. Harsh reality of this bussiness. At the end Wes was happy with his career (no wonder, he had a huge impact on the genre at least three times, while other directors didn't even manage to impact it even once). But he always said he would like to do more. You can check his interview with Mike Garris ua-cam.com/video/HDsefMME6J0/v-deo.html he talks about it at the end. RIP Wes Craven, a true don.
she's insane. she expects him to know when she's lying? also "make me laugh" is such a silly request. few people are genuinely funny. besides, she doesn't seem to be a ton of laughs herself. he should've let her go, he could do a lot better
It's a strange clip; the orientation is way off, the Wilde monument is not close to any stairs and the stairway she's headed down just before she comes upon Wilde is headed off in the opposite direction. High heels in Pere Lachaise? And this is one miserable couple, especially him...put me in Pere Lachaise with a beautiful woman like her and I'd be thanking my lucky stars not acting not a spoiled schoolboy.
Originally the figure over his grave had a realistic-looking pair of genitals. But the monument was repeatedly vandalized so the management kept them off. They're in a drawer in Pere Lachaise, somewhere...
Loved almost all of the vignettes. This was super, too.
My favorite is with Natalie Portman ❤️ 💓 💖

He did try to break out early on with Deadly Friend but the studio forced him to turn it into a horror movie

So many wonderful short stories in this outstanding movie 🎬. Have you seen other stories in it?
Beautiful! Charming! What an adorable little vignette

probably one of my favorites. love it.
Ah Rufus , i don't even care if he makes me laugh or not
Burası Paris'e giden herkesin görmesi geren bir yer. İnsan binlerce düşünce ile doluyor. Tam da benim düşündüğümü çağrıştıran bir fragman.
Who watched it because of Oscar Wilde?
@ Lubiq Budyń I learned more about Oscar Wilde BECAUSE of this movie!
I give them 6 months
Hmm... I'd say you're being optimistic.

Oscar Wilde every chance he got: are the straits ok?

I've been here, and I kissed Oscar Wilde's grave !
I wish Wes would’ve been able to move outside of Horror like he wanted.
Have me Rufus. Silly moo.

spooky it had a graveyard ghost
+Alex The Kaiser SO SPOOPY
this was directed by the same guy who directed the nightmare on elms street, and scream. what did you expect?
Watched it because of the name WES CRAVEN in the caption 🤣🤣🤣
The poor man died a few sequences later, bitten by a gorgeous Russian vampire and Frodo Baggins saw the scene.
#RIP
There is now, sadly...

His grave is kind of ugly

I think he'd hate it
