I discovered Castelnuovo-Tedesco yesterday, love his music. This is really a very original ensemble, guitare + string quartett, sounds so well.
All of you play really wonderfull.

    Hi, thanks for the feedback.
I know what you mean and you may be right. But the guitar is not really a soloist although there are quite a few guitar solos. The recording gives us the balance as it was in the performance. As I am sure you know the guitar is a very soft instrument and balance is not an easy thing to achieve with the much louder string instruments.
    Anyways, just my thoughts...best regards

Indeed I do, but still I'd like a bit more guitar. As matter of fact, reason that I looked up this fine work on UA-cam it that next month it will be performed by my home town orchstra, and since I did not know it before I though that some before-hand knowledge might come in handy..

Very nice performance, but sound mixing should have been a bit more distinct. The soloist quite often well nigh disappears behind the sound of the the string quartet.

That is why man invented the electric guitar, the soloist wanted to be heard…
especially in wintertime when people start coughing and sneezing :-)

@@marcelvermeulen9550 Well, OK, but note the single microphone. With this group, I would switch the positions of the cello and viola and place the guitarist in front and center.

Qué lástima, la guitarra apenas se escucha. Mala grabación.

Si no te gusta aprendelo tu mismo, haz un quinteto y grabalo bien y con calidad y veras que caro es.
