I can see myself at 8 years old playing this game and hearing this music. I sobbed as an adult, and I can only imagine how much of an impact this would have made on me as a kid. Another spectacular arrangement, as always!
Honestly, even having some serious critique for the games and recent direction, this final section of the story genuinely redeems the game to me (and overall, I was having a lot of fun despite a serious lack of polish) Like, this is actually one of my favourite Pokemon storylines, it's such daring yet well fitted and executed direction for the themes of the series, and the professors actually went from completely neutral and unremarkable on my first impression to contenders for my favourites.
Same, especially when there's some complex scales and pitches adapted to it. There's a recent Splatoon song 8 bit cover I recently found that adapts the rapping section and an Arabian inspired note scale just so well that comes to mind too. Nintendo's been producing some great songs to work with lately

First off, this is really freaking awesome! Second, hearing this theme in 8-bit reminds me of Mega Man with how its structured. Like this could fit perfectly in a Mega Man game. Even Battle Network.
