    I bought an Allen/Roth shower wall system and I have no instructions in the box so this is very helpful. What did you use to caulk the seams with?

    • @RentThisFlipThat
      @RentThisFlipThat  11 місяців тому

      Bathroom shower caulk made for that purpose. I think it's a tub and tile caulk. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question

    I've never seen drywall behind a shower,but to be fair Ive seen these shower panels installed direct to studs...so I guess they're totally waterproof and if caulked correctly at the seam you shouldn't ever need to worry about them leaking. Does Allen Roth require a water proof backer board? Thanks for the vid!

      @hannahoang8582 6 днів тому

      If they read their manual - they only need green board or cement board. To diy proof can use hydro ban or kerdi membrane system as well

    Had this installed in July. Exact same insert. My shower curtain keeps falling down (tension rod). Is it safe to drill through to secure the shower rod? What type of bit will I need? TIA for your response.

    • @RentThisFlipThat
      @RentThisFlipThat  10 місяців тому

      As high up as the rod will be, I think it would be fine. Might seal it up with a little silicone to keep out the water. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question

    How did you know where to cut the faucet openings?

    • @RentThisFlipThat

      At 25:36 in the video you can see that I am measuring from my plum line I made with my level. Then I pulled from there to the center of pipes and from the bottom panel the middle of the pipes. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question

    Did you fit the shower wall directly to the base or was there a small gap for expansion?

    • @RentThisFlipThat
      @RentThisFlipThat  9 місяців тому

      There was a very tiny gap, but for the most part, we cut it to custom fit then sealed it up with 100%silicone. Hope that helps. Thanks for the question

      @willbarnes1833 was it too big or too small? May have to split the difference if too small and buy some corner seal for showers. Or for that wall out if you have enough lip on the tub. If it’s too big, just cut the 1/2 inch off. Let me know if I’m in the right neighborhood

      @@RentThisFlipThat the tub was too big, I used 1/2 inch drywall so I removed one side to fit it in, and my wife de used to just go with a shower I stead so now my problem is the vent is at a 45° angle going up and it's preventing me from from setting the the shower base, so I'm ending up having to cut it and 90 towards the wall to tap into the vent, this has been a nightmare remodel, I have to rebuild this whole house for my dad, and by trade I'm an ironworker, so you can just imagine how it's going for me, but I love y'all's content I'm pretty sure I'll get it as long as I continue to watch yalls videos lol

      Brother I am going through remodel hell myself. Got into my new remodel and found out it was built from 2x2s. I’m having to rebuild the whole house under a roof already in place. I’m no expert but I can come up with some ideas. Shoot me and email and I’ll send you my number. That way if you run into problems, we can bounce some ideas off each other through FaceTime or fb messenger video. Anyway good luck sir. Let me know how it turns out. Rentthisflipthat@gmail.com

    I've been estimating and installing systems for 35 years. DON'T put a SMALL angle on a grab bar. It defeats the purpose of the slant and looks like the installer was drunk and the owner was stupid. Your plumbing receptacle for hot and cold is called your "tree". One more, Put Gypsum for the wall NOT drywall. Gypsum is mold resistant and stronger, then you don't need blocking for grab bars either, better code, longer lasting.

      No blocking for grab bars? You really want someone pulling them self up with someone fastened to drywall only?
