The Big Push were together for 5 years. They split up in September last year before Ren went to Canada for his medical treatment. Ren says he would love to get the band together again, as long as the others want to
Yay!! If you don’t bounce to this, there's something wrong ❤ The Big Push is another rabbit hole you won't regret. Their live busking sessions are phenomenal. Try their 'I shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop' mash up, or their 'War Pigs' mash from the same session. And their original music is also fab. Thanks for this! Bongo Bong made my 8 yo a fan, and he now listens to The Big Push every day. He's a big Ren fan (as are all my kids. Even the hubby ❤)
Their covers are awesome. But the originals they've done are criminally underrated. Sweet Little Lady, Precious, Dignity, Why My Woman and more. Please go down this rabbit hole. You'll have NO REGERTS!!! 🤣
And their original Watch Out! My fav version of that is the live one where they were busking and introduced it to the crowd. It was great. I believe it was the same day they did War Pigs and also I Shot the Sheriff/Rd to Zion/Hip Hop.
Oh my. Next you’ll need to see their busking version of “I Shot The Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop.” Ren is absolutely epic - you don’t even know. Next Ren song should be one of his older, melodic songs. How about “Ocean” or “Hold On.” Or if you go even older, he will break your heart with the “It’s Alright” video or “Patience” or “Freckled Angels.” The last one he wrote for his very close friend who had ended his own life.
The Big Push are Ren, Romain (uke here) Gorran (electric guitar here), and Glenn (drummer, not in this one). They are all amazing! Too much talent in one band.
Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone but we've got a special magic atmosphere here in UK which makes outside music sound excellent. Especially here in the South of England. 😂 Lovely reaction 👍
They were together about 5 years I believe but their last gig was end of last year due partly because of Rens medical treatment and they’re all soloists and moved around the world. Romain Axisa is on uke he’s a fantastic guitarist and singer Gorran Kendall on bass, also an amazing travelling folk singer Glenn Chambers who isn’t in this one but he’s the drummer for TBP 🖤
The sound is just that good when they're busking in the streets. Nothing but cheap amps, mics, etc. No pitch correction, most of them done in a single take. Romain Axisa, the other soloist, is AMAZING. Not only a gorgeous voice, but an incredible guitarist with wonderful tone. Romain is from France but lives/performs in Brighton. Listen to Romain's cover of Blue Moon - stunning. His vocal tone on it sounds like a guitar - can't explain it. Remember when you first heard VP's version of Warriors and how the tone of Layne's violin sounded like a human voice? Like they'd just added another member? Similar, but of course different. Yep, keep headed wherever Ren leads you. Big Push, Chinchilla, Sam - whoever he's singing with, you know their talent is off the charts.
And don't forget the people he recommends! He suggested we listen to Dirt Miller, an American musician, and he blew my mind with his unique sound and outrageous guitar playing. Where Ren goes, Renegades follow!
Great reaction to this amazing song… these guys are really, really good - ALL of them! I follow them all now with fingers crossed that once Ren finishes his treatments they’ll regroup for some more great music on the rooftop.. or wherever!
Trick the Fox was Rens first band while living in Bath. The Big Push was his Brighton band. After 4 months down the rabbit hole their rendition of "I shot the sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop " from their final busking performance in Brighton 9 months ago closely followed by "Wade in the water/Nina Simone/Trouble so hard" from before lock-down 4 Yrs ago has become my favorit tracks to listen to. Just two outstanding raw and authentic performances !
so glad you done this one its one of Rens favourites, thank you for reacting and supporting my favourite artist, you should checkout more Ren with the big push you will be amazed at there talent ❤❤
Thank you for doing this one! ♥I love it, it's my favorite. Even the original is great, but these guys bring something truly wonderful with their rendition. Again thank you.....!!!!♥
Love love love love love! Such a dang vibe! Makes me so happy, the only bad thing about thing I haven't been able to find it yet so I can jam out in by car lol!
Yeah, this was during lockdown, and them three boys were flatmates, so... nothing better to do that day... Lucky us they invited their camera guy over for some chilling-on-the-rooftop-with-the-vine...
LOVE IT !! Been subscriber for a bit, because of REN reaction you did. Got a 2nd LOVE IT !! by Weird Al reactions. Posted LONG Reply on Word Play reaction LOL...Rock On D !!
The Big Push version of the Sting song 'An English Man in New York' is another from the same location. ua-cam.com/video/ZI9Q295iJl4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TheBigPush
For a French fix Ren "French Song" featuring Romain Axisa I loved hearing Ren sing in French. Speaking of Up on The Roof I'm sure you remember the "Lovin Spoonful" ? up on the roof. LOL I certainly do. I think I have their album in vinyl. :D
I gather from interviews and comments here and there, that these three shared a flat during Covid lockdown and this is the roof of their building…but maybe someone else will correct me.
At a guess using a Zoom R24 to record. Then the superb sound engineering and producer skills of Ren Gill using automation mixing where he sets the levels and EQ for each channel in automation through a DAW, second by second. With 8 Channel input when this was recorded the Zoom R24 is the obvious source device at this time. For a bit more a cash the Soundcraft UI24 R could do a better job but it is not as portable.
i see you discovered Rens band (no longer together) - please please please listen to this Masterpiece ->>> The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop
i just know this recently through this channel, hours ago.. ua-cam.com/video/NCB_V2VBiJ0/v-deo.html while wondering, just the reason why they picked [somewhat] 'small' channel, and not others [like yours].. 🙃
En fait, vous connaissez le français! 👏 As far as what's next with Ren, he's really enjoyable busking with The Big Push. I think you would love their live mashup of I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop from the band's channel. All of them are top tier musicians!

You know they will!!! They're too good together Not to!!!
@@woodywoodman2319 Agree, but with that said, Romain has some hauntingly beautiful solo songs.

And the original by Goren they do "Swan Song" is awesome. Sadly a bit too true to the present and the future.

Great selection! I’d love to see Patience or It’s Alright (Brighton version) reacted to.
wow they are good...Ren is just a genius...thanks

Dirt Miller is a pretty cool artist, I like the new track he dropped - can’t remember what’s it’s called ‘ A Good Man?’ - I think something like that.
Looking forward to you exploring The Big Push more!
How about their I Shot The Sheriff/Road To Zion/Hip Hop mashup? It's phenomenal.
Agreed 💯
My favorite is wade in the water,Nina simone, trouble so hard is amazing.
So glad you have started to listen to The Big Push - they’re great!!! 😁👍❤️PS try their version of Wade in the Water
One of my favourites ❤
Great reaction to this amazing song… these guys are really, really good - ALL of them! I follow them all now with fingers crossed that once Ren finishes his treatments they’ll regroup for some more great music on the rooftop.. or wherever!
What a great version! Their musicianship is really impressive!❤

Respect. Semplicemente fantastici❤❤❤❤❤❤
Crazy video!! They are great!! Nice reaction!!
Such a fun song!! Mates having fun and jamming out.
If Ren and the Big Push were to reunite for a one off acoustic jam, it 'd have to be a Tiny Desk Concert, best sound ever. Hold on, let me dream...
The Ren/Big Push road is long, but rewarding.
This is a good one to react to... Ren & Sam Tompkins - Improvising around Stevie Wonder
Thank you for doing this one! ♥I love it, it's my favorite. Even the original is great, but these guys bring something truly wonderful with their rendition. Again thank you.....!!!!♥
It's a VIBE.

I’ll admit, I didn’t think you knew French. Shame on me for making assumptions.
