Part of the reason why Conan the Barbarian stands in a league of its own as a fantasy movie is because of the score. To simultaneously sound foreign and ancient yet familiar like the soundtrack to a long faded dream makes the movie feel less like fantasy and more like a legend passed down through the ages and older than written record. From the bombastic anthem of Thulsa Doom and his riders descending on the Cimmerian village or Conan’s leitmotif as he rises from the ground to face Rexor to the simple melody of Conan and Subotai jogging across the steppe, Basil Poledouris perfectly captures the very essence of the days of high adventure.
One of the most epic soundtracks of film history. Captures the wonders of the Hyborian Age. Thank you so much. "Conan! What is best in life? Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women."
No other ost is as powerful as Conan the Barbarian, THAT IS GOOD!

I was 10 years old, back then in 1982, when I watched Conan. James Earl Jones scared bejesus out of me! But I was also thrilled with music.
James Earl Jones was legendary, a movie is only as good as its villan.
lol me too. I was 12. My aunt took me to see it in Leicester Square as just something to do. She was completely embarrassed by it and I remember her saying to me ‘this film is all about tits and snakes!’ I’ve never forgoten that.

One of my favorite movie, the story is so beautiful. But there has one problem, they showing too much nudity than others and they're wearing weird costume. Try to keep historical clothing like vikings and stop making soft porn, and bring more action. Then watch people will love it more.
