I stil play this kit, it's an awesome kit, sturdy and easy to tune. To your intrest, I got the 22,10, 12, 14, 16 Set, and my toms don't have any drillings for the classic tom mounts, but are fitted with R.I.M.S., pearl offered this configuration a couple of years later, maybe starting in 1992/93. My bassdrum also doesn't have any drill holes and also no bassdrum double tom mount. I also got the same blue colour. It says "Pearl Session Elite Made in Taiwan" on the badge. I really love this kit :). Great video !
Hello. I have the same kit and even color as yours. I recently got it. My question is with which patch do you use the bass drum? I am between Remo Powerstroke or Pinstripe. Greetings from Argentina
Thanks for the review Dave! I have a set in white. A few nicks, bumps...certainly a gigging kit but not too disgraceful 😉 but what a kit! I also have 2 fusion size single lugged 'Session Series' kits in green and red. Again, fabulous to play. 👍
Had one of these kits in "sequoia red". Traded a white 1997 Session for an original/1991 Session Elite. The red went faster. Always wanted a "Pacific blue" floor tom to go with it.
I have a set of these bought new in 1992. Over the years I'm sure they have become louder. Someone suggested the mahogany plies might have become harder leading to a louder sound. I dunno but given that these were sold as a studio kit, mine kick on stage. I have 10, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 - all rack toms. I only use the even numbers and I'm looking for an 8 and the floor tom 16 and 18 for the full Keith Moon experience
Great kit mate and nice colour too!

Cheers! I don't dislike mine as it, but I reckon it would benefit from some RIMS or ISS mounts, just to open the sound up a bit more.

Just picked up a red set, 10/12/22. Looking for the 14 or 16 floor tom and snare
They shouldn't be too hard to find, these drums seem to come up all the time on Ebay and reverb
very good video. Do you know what wood they made them with?
Thanks. The woods used were birch inner/outer ply, mahogany inner ply
Are these Luan mahogany or African mahogany?
Luan, I have a shell pack I am selling $900 Canadian.
Nice t-shirt ;)
We can no longer be friends after the Bonham basing though! :P
