The claim that all R179's on the (A) line are sent to Lefferts Blvd is not true, it's a pretty common sight for R179's to be in Far Rockaway since they can handle all the seasalt overthere. Cars like the R143, R160, and R211 cannot however, due to their electrical components being negatively affected by the seasalt from what I heard. I also heard that only five (A) trains head to Rockaway Park-B116 St on rush hours so it's pretty hard to catch a R179 heading overthere due to the R46's outnumbering the R179's on the (A) line. I think what will happen on the (A) line when all R211's are ordered and all R46's are retired is that all R211's will be sent over to Lefferts Blvd while all R179's are sent to Far Rockaway and Rockaway Park-B116 St.
