I'd like to state that exercising with the milanese loop band will cause some problems. When you're sweating, the band will loosen up. I do not recommend exercising with the milanese loop.
I have the 42mm Milanese loop band on my Apple Watch. The magnet area is very scratched as stated in the video. I have tried to wear it while exercising but I found myself tightening this band every few minutes. I ended up buying a sport band for exercising.
I have genuine Milanese Loop and just ordered a $35 fake link bracelet from eBay. I don't expect the quality to be nearly as good of course but it'll still look good from a distance. The price-tag on the genuine link bracelet is crazy even by Apple standards. It's not even 904L stainless steel as used on Rolex and other Swiss watch brands but rather the much cheaper 316L stainless steel.
I picked up a 3rd party link bracelet from Amazon. Looks identical, feels identical, it's just the build quality obviously lacks slightly compared to Apple link bracelet, but for $69.99, way way better deal
I went with the sport 42mm space gray with a third party band that is identical to this for $10. I would recommend this setup over any other apple watch. You get the look of the $1200 dollar watch for half the price and its lighter
I liked your video, although a fair comparison would have been accomplished once you receive the Milanese in the larger size. The wife's 38mm can't do the Milanese band justice. It's quite exquisite and comfortable, I don't want to take it off!! The Bracelet looks uncomfortable honestly. Love to hear what you think of yours once it arrives. I'm glad I went Milanese.
Personally, I prefer the link bracelet. When I purchased my 42mm series two, it came with the link bracelet. Fast forward to the 44mm series four cellular model, when I purchased it, the link bracelet was not available. Unfortunately, I had to purchase with the Milanese loop which I loathe and will never use. I ended up using my scratched series two link bracelet until my new one arrived. Coincidentally, I have since discovered that the scratches can be polished out using a scotch bright pad and then cleaned in my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. Now the scratched one is practically scratch free, providing me a backup band. I never bothered opening the Milanese loop band. In fact, I actually forgot I had it until watching this video. Now I think I'll post it for sale online.
Except the loop scratches your watch if your not careful. Both are great looking but I think I’d go with the link bracelet. I have Both and the loop scratches my watch only after a few times taking. Something to take note.
I really really wish I could afford both. I saw a guy and his two sons who all had watches walk out with both theses bands at an Apple Store yesterday.
Do you happen to see any discoloration in your white sport band? I like the way it looks new but I'm scared to get it bc I'm afraid of it getting dirty..
I have the milaneseloop but its pinching my hairy arm too much ive purchased a sport band hopefully thatll be more comfty throughout the day and i can use my milanese during nights out (:
Ordered my series 4 SS Watch with SS Milanese bracelet, then ordered a $33.00 “knock-off” SS link bracelet. After trying the “knock-off” I decided to go ahead and order the “real” Apple Link Bracelet because I didn’t like the quality or fit of the “knock-off. I will have to say that the “knock-off” looked a lot like the real one and to most people, they would not know the difference. But in addition to not trusting the “knock-off” as far as protecting my expensive watch I didn’t like the way it fit on the watch. It had more play where it connects to the watch than I was comfortable with. Also I would like to point out that buying directly from Apple the band is $349.00 but Best Buy is charging $449.00 for the silver and $549.00 for the black. Go figure!
I just ordered SS Series 4 too but just with the sport band. And ordered a link bracelet from www.untoldtime.com for $100. They haven't arrived yet but after extensive research, the one on untoldtime is the only one that looks exactly like the original from the pictures down to the button-adjustable links. All the other knockoff ones were adjustable with a tool. I'll update you when everything arrives
slamandjam2 thanks for the info and good luck with your purchase. I have to say that I absolutely love the watch and the Apple link bracelet! Hope your knock-off works better than the two I bought (iPM and EOSO) before giving in and buying the real thing!
@@larryruark9962 It came last week and its actually pretty damn good. Looks and adjusts exactly like the original. The only thing that isnt perfect is that opening and closing the butterfly clasp isnt as snappy as I'd like... a little more on the mushy side. But besides that its great
slamandjam2 thanks for the follow up and glad your happy with your band. I looked all over for what you bought but couldn’t find it even after watching a few reviews using what looked and sounds like what you bought. Too bad I didn’t hear from you sooner because I definitely would have tried the one you bought. All in all though, I’m very happy with my Apple Watch and feel it’s the best smart watch out there! Again thanks for the info on your band and hope you enjoy your watch as much as I do!
Larry Ruark yeah i somehow stumbled upon that site after a longgg time of looking. I trust that site now. Just ordered a Milanese loop from them as well. All the ones I saw on amazon had mixed reviews for the Apple Watch S4
Steve Time The 38mm fits my wrist better And the band cost $449 from Apple I got a brand new watch and band for $349... Plus, I couldn't afford a Series 2 SST So it's either another aluminum watch (which I hated, I own a 42mm Gen 1 Sport) or a hella nice Gen 1 SST I'm upgrading the case this year to a Series 3 SST and keeping the band I thought this whole thing out bro
I've got the stainless steel 42mm with the link bracelet it's the best looking one and you all know it so if you're gonna be cheap or you're trying to save money on a crappier band maybe the apple watch isn't for you.
The Milanese is NOT stainless steel. Stainless steel is not magnetic. Regardless what Apple might tell you, if a magnet sticks to it...it ain't true stainless steel.
Im ordering the Link Bracelet as soon as Apple Watch is available over here. The Milanese Loop too me looks like the female version of a Stainless Steel Band. Great video!
What? Their both stainless steel band. Milanese is woven steel mesh and the Link Braclet is made up of 140 individual steel bracelets. Milanese loop takes 12 hours to make while the bracelet takes 14.
There are different types of stainless steel. Apple is using a ferritic stainless steel for the Milanese loop, as has always been the case with that style of band. The belief that all stainless steel is non-magnetic is a common misperception owing to the fact that the popular Type 304 is austenitic.
I’m 2023 they’re still the same price & offered by . I went with the Amazon titanium link band for $25. Goes great w/ my AWU
I'd like to state that exercising with the milanese loop band will cause some problems. When you're sweating, the band will loosen up. I do not recommend exercising with the milanese loop.
Of course a metal band isn't good for working out
you dont need to disconnect the link to put them on ,just put both side in simultaneously.i switch from sport band to steel band daily for workouts

Only Swiss company that uses 904 l is Rolex and it’s all marketing. It’s equal quality to omegas and etc
I picked up a 3rd party link bracelet from Amazon. Looks identical, feels identical, it's just the build quality obviously lacks slightly compared to Apple link bracelet, but for $69.99, way way better deal
Here I am 6 years after this video trying to build my series 7 going back and fourth between the two and honestly I think I just need both atp
I went with the sport 42mm space gray with a third party band that is identical to this for $10. I would recommend this setup over any other apple watch. You get the look of the $1200 dollar watch for half the price and its lighter

Your auto focus is killing me...
🤣🤣🤣
I own both watch bands for all my Apple Watches they are a must for me. My link bracelet is by far my favorite
Personally, I prefer the link bracelet. When I purchased my 42mm series two, it came with the link bracelet. Milanese Loop Watch 2 ordered! The video really helped clear up my dilemma :)
I really really wish I could afford both. I saw a guy and his two sons who all had watches walk out with both theses bands at an Apple Store yesterday.
Love stainless steel black had Milanese loop nice but I enjoy link more ..
Do you happen to see any discoloration in your white sport band? I like the way it looks new but I'm scared to get it bc I'm afraid of it getting dirty..
It will gather dust etc, but if it discolours, just wipe it down with a damp cloth
+goldsurfer077 alright thanks for help
just got a spaceblack link bracelet and it looks sweet.
I have the milaneseloop but its pinching my hairy arm too much ive purchased a sport band hopefully thatll be more comfty throughout the day and i can use my milanese during nights out (:
or just shave your arm?
c k Strong answer 3 years later lol
Can you compare the link bracelet original with the 3rd party link bracelet and with the button as well, thank you
I'm flexing the Milanese loop as we speak all by myself in my family room...
Thanks for helping me make my choice. Very helpful video.
Does the Milanese loop snag on sweaters? I heard 3rd party ones do that but not sure if the real thing does it too
Link bracelet Just a little pricey?
They’re both lovely, thanks for this video 💙
I got the Milanese loop for the 32mm Apple watch ss, is Grady and feels great

Sorry this may seem a strange question. Does your Milanese loop have any markings or writing at all on the end lugs? I look forward to your reply. :)
Link bracelet, but I use to have the Milanese loop.
Apple went full ret*rd with the price of their link bracelet.
Cesar Hanson perfect comment.
Doesn't matter because I bought a brand new one on eBay 38mm with Link Bracelet (Gen 1) for $350
Steve Time Because I got a brand new watch with a extremely nice band for a low price?
It came with a watch too
And it was all brand new
Josh C Gen 1...you didn't get a deal plus it's 38mm
Steve Time The 38mm fits my wrist better
And the band cost $449 from Apple
I got a brand new watch and band for $349...
Plus, I couldn't afford a Series 2 SST
So it's either another aluminum watch (which I hated, I own a 42mm Gen 1 Sport) or a hella nice Gen 1 SST

Great videos man! You deserve more subs.
I really love this video! Subbed!

***** Yes? I still think the loop looks like a female version of bracelet in the steel series.
Milanese is UNISEX or TRANSEX or whateverSEX
450 Dollars for a bracelet?!
I picked one up off ebay 2nd hand. No way am I paying £379 for ir, got it for £180 so thats kinda cheap i guess..
iJamiee- Same. I got a third-party link bracelet band from a company called Moko for $25. I got it on sale; it was originally $55.
You just slide me on and off at the same time. It’s not hard. You do not have to separate the band. My god
Great review, thank you very much.
these days in 2018 the Milanese Loop is $10.95
Stainless steel should be non-magnetic, so how does the magnet work?
There are different types of stainless steel. Apple is using a ferritic stainless steel for the Milanese loop, as has always been the case with that style of band.
The belief that all stainless steel is non-magnetic is a common misperception owing to the fact that the popular Type 304 is austenitic.
The magnet is not extremely powerful. C'mon man
great review, thank you
When he said it was his wife's he did not have a ring on any finger
