    I’m a GP Nick and run a small running club which I set up myself. Hard to find the balance but it’s a passion. You are an inspiring man and I wish you all the success with Best Athletics. I particularly love your UA-cam in race 10km voice over videos. My wife and I watch them to relax in the evenings 😂

      🤣🤣 love this! I should run a bit faster so it gets the adrenaline going instead of making you relax. All the best with your run club 🙌🏻

    I ran my first marathon November 12, 2023 in Athens, Greece. I saw a couple of folks running in the Best Athletics gear and instantly recognized the singlet/socks when I saw! I have worked in the corporate world for 10+ years and want to run away for good and never look back. Just figuring out what is next for me but whatever it is, it will include a work/life balance, which includes time for running almost every day! Thanks for the video!

    Such a great video. Love your honesty on your entrepreneurial journey, Nick. It's incredibly hard and filled with doubts. Quality shines through in the end. Well done for hanging in there.

    Incredible story Nick. Amazing how successful ventures in life are born from a tipping point where it could've easily gone either way. So pleased for you that all your hard work and grind is paying off.

    Love your videos, how many years did it take you to go from 25 min to 15 min on the 5K?

    A banker and a coach have a lot in common. Both involve guiding individuals toward achieving specific goals. Bankers guide clients in financial matters, while sports coaches guide athletes in achieving success in their respective sports.👍

    I think the answer for "when to take running as a full time instead of corporate life?" is when you already have marathon PB of 2:24. It's amazing and almost impossible to achieve 2:24 while working in corporate. Truly inspiring..

    Nice recap Nick, that had to be nerve-wracking when your "year" was almost up. Did you ever end up posting your progression from when you started running all the way down to 2:24? I didn't realize you were running that fast already at the bank :)

    • @justalilbester
      @justalilbester  Рік тому +2

      So I started posting regularly once I broke 2:30 at Berlin in 2019. So yes I was sharing my journey at the 2:24 stage. At the point in time I was improving around 5 minutes on my marathon time year on year.

    So, why would I choose to join Best Athletics as opposed to a traditional not for profit running club like, say, Belgrave Harriers?

    • @justalilbester
      @justalilbester  Рік тому +2

      There’s lots of reasons why you might join Best Athletics. Things like;
      👉🏻 Linking up with teammates at international events (for example we had over 30 at Berlin this year)
      👉🏻 3 training camps a year
      👉🏻 Discount codes with connect brands to BA
      👉🏻 Discounts with connected people such as physios, nutritionists etc.
      👉🏻 The kit
      👉🏻 The vibe
      👉🏻 The app
      👉🏻 The team sessions
      👉🏻 The adidas vest and elite socks you get with the £20 joining feel.
      There are loads more but that’s a few and. Some runners want to join the traditional running clubs and that’s great. I’m part of one too.

    Do you think running in the UK, like a lot of sports, is mostly pursued seriously by affluent people with more free time?

    • @justalilbester
      @justalilbester  Рік тому +1

      Not necessarily but one thing you have to say is more free time for training is every runners dream.

    • @vikroy3777
      @vikroy3777 Рік тому +1

      I think every sport requires a level of affluence, running isn't as bad as cycling, but slightly more expensive than football
