Mercer Court: Rain City Laundry - Dare to Do

UW Housing & Food Services (HFS) sustainability manager J.R. Fulton works with students to make life at the UW as sustainable as possible - and that includes making use of the rain Seattle is so famous for. A 125,000-gallon cistern filters enough rainwater to provide the 3,000-5,000 gallons of water a day used to do laundry at Mercer Court. And that’s just one of HFS’s many earth-friendly efforts.
