- Director Ken Loach and screenwriter Paul Laverty visit the BFI Southbank to discuss their latest Cannes-premiering film, purported to be the filmmaker’s final narrative feature.
Set in a pub in a former mining town in northern England, Ken Loach’s film is a heartfelt and impassioned portrait of community. With a narrative that tackles immigration, as well as familiar Loach themes of social and economic inequality, the film charts the reactions of locals to the arrival of Syrian refugee families in the local area.
Also in attendance at the Q&A were the film's stars Ebla Mari, Dave Turner and Claire Rodgerson. The Q&A was hosted by Mia Bays.
