Great video man. Thank you for all the good info. I've just bought one and it will be arriving this Friday. I am really looking forward to shooting with it.
Another superb review, Thank you! 👍 I wanted the M3 as I love using 50mm lenses, however, I managed to get hold of an M1 (no rangefinder) for a good price and will be getting an M2 rangefinder installed early next year (the M1 is basically an M2 minus a rangefinder and with the rangefinder window blocked off.) The viewfinder covers 35mm and 50mm lenses, but like you correctly pointed out, 50mm coverage is best on the M3.. Keep up the good work my friend! 😊👌
What a beautiful camera. I love that the biggest frame lines are 50mm just what I like, I don’t like a 35mm. I want one real bad. One day you beautiful mechanical perfection m3, one day.
What's happening?? When I take a picture my nob advances and everything seems fine but then I was told to set the shutter speed and forget about it but the sutter speed keeps moving....did I put the film in wrong?
Hey Tony! I was thinking about picking up a 35 mm camera. I wanted a rangefinder but the Leica M6 is a little too pricey. Do you have any cheaper recommendations? The ones I saw don't have manual controls or a light meter. The second option would be a SLR. I have a Voigtländer 58 1.4 in F mount so I could pick up a Nikon or try to find a cheap Leica R with a 50 lens. I have manual Fuji X mount glass but I done know if it works with older cameras. Could you please help me out?
Thanks for a great review. Would you mind telling how you clean your chrome and leatherette. I have a M3 in near mint condition but I can never get the chrome to shine like yours. Thanks again for a great review.
Thank you for your concern. I'm OK! I just found myself babbling on too much and forgetting things, so I decided to give it a break. I may return one day! Take care. :)
I'm on the market for a M2 but to honest I don't even shoot 35mm anymore lol I mostly shoot 120 film with my pentax 67. I'm buying one cause I appreciate the craftsmanship & engineering 👍🏽
The Leica 35/3.5 M-lenses with (and even without!) goggles have become horribly expensive. For the quality this lens delivers, there are better and cheaper alternatives out there which you can use with an external viewfinder in the hotshoe. The Leica 35/3.5 lenses with goggles are now falling into the category of collector items, therefore the crazy prizes.
@@Samsung9alaxy that's a steal - impossible to get this now especially in this quality online. Demand in vintage Leica lenses has risen, so did the prices.
I have photographed extensively music performance as one of my skill suits. I have photographed the Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchel, James Taylor, and Phil Ochs (Americal Folk Singer) 60's + 70's. Looking forward to a "free international call"!
Hey ! ...And now, please, show us how you take the film out of the camera once the film is full and all 36 photos have been taken with the Leica. I always have problems getting the film out of the camera. Show me what to do concretely after the last photo. No video, I believe, really shows this.
Most second hand Leica M3 cameras are very overrated. A CLA does not always make it a long life lasting item. Too much so called repair shops, run by tinkers, do a minimum CLA of the Leica M3 body, to keep the costs low for the hobby Leica trader. The Leica focal plane shutter which SOUNDS well, is not properly checked.
that is one of the most cleanest M3 i've seen in a while...
This is by far the most beautiful M3 I have ever seen in my life!
Still the Best camera reviewer on the web my friend; love your obvious love for the cameras you review
Thanks!
your m3 look so minty, amazing condition
Great review & walk through! Thank you so much ! 😃
Beautiful Camera, bought mine yesterday and can´t wait to get in into my hands.
Your reviews are the best. Thank you!
Thank you for this well made and thoroughly executed piece of information.

the leica m3 is really a beast of a camera!
i have an m2 and love it to bits
thanks for sharing this with us! really enjoyed this
A very enjoyable and informative video. Thank you :)
Beautiful camera. I need to get one. I miss my MP dearly.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Just bought an M3 from none other than Gus Lazzari and eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Beautiful camera. On the list to join my M6. Just need to save some money....
As always another great review.
Amazing camera, own one with a 50mm DR and it's my favorite thing to carry around

Thanks for a terrific review, out of interest I wondered where you got the red slow release button from, thanks
Off Ebay! Can't remember which seller.

Are you going to do anymore?
It’s been a few years since your last one
Please let me know
Kindest regards
I may do. I'm not sure. .
if i may ask.. where did you buy the voightlander light meter? i would really want to buy one... thanks!
Banj medina they are available on amazon and carried by most camera retailers. B&H or Adorama
@@cullmancreations i appreciate the reply.. thx!
What are the white plastic covers on the back?
They are protective caps for the flash terminals. Forgot to mention in the review!
What model is that with the red shutter button?
It's just a generic concave soft shutter release button.
Sweet cheers, btw your M3 is in the best condition I've seen

The Minolta CLE is a small compact rangefinder camera that uses Leica M lenses! My review is here: ua-cam.com/video/6-PmFwlLZSE/v-deo.html

Is that posible to use the google for the 35mm frame lines with 3 party lenses like a Voightlander 35mm Nokton?
Unfortunately not! I was hoping for the same, but the goggles attach to the lens, not the camera.
@@Samsung9alaxy :( that is so sad, that makes the M3 a no no for me. I want a Leica to use mainly with a 35mm lens
I would like to purchase the 35mm f2 or f3.4 summicron with gogggle. Could you help me out with locating one in Britain?
I brought all my Leica gear off eBay!
hey, does the NIKON F needs battery to take pictures?
No. You will need one for the light meter, depending on which prism you have fitted.
Thank You for sharing!
I am curious about your "photo creations" with your M-3! Send me a link if you have a online gallery
He stopped doing reviews :( i hope he's ok

You have a lovely collection of Cameras. Do you accumulate them or do you sell to buy more ?
Thanks. I don't keep quite a few of them, but I will this one. ;)

A Leica photographer does not need a in-built TTL lightmeter.
The Weston Master and the Sekonic L308 are small lightmeters.

A reputable dealer on eBay.

how much for the case please ?

Hi Tony,
Are you still selling cameras on eBay? If so what's your seller I'd please?
Thanks
I occasionally sell cameras or accessories on eBay. My seller ID is josecapablanca
Thanks Tony
i just bought mine today, but your M3 is like just got out off the production line.. my y goodness it's so pristine!

Name/model of esposimeter please?
I'm not sure what you mean by the esposimeter? Can you tell me the time in the video that it is mentioned?
Voigtlander VCii
Did Marty Mcfly bring you this camera from 1955 or what, that thing looks brand new
:)
It's easier to load than the screw thread Barnack Leicas!
Why? Looks like the same method
@@JimmyDashJimmy Not quite. You need to cut the film leader.
Would you be willing to sell it?
No. It's my favourite rangefinder!
Perhaps buy a nice Luigi case on Ebay ?
