Jesus is the standard, not another Christian. It’s easy to get caught up, especially when others share their faith journeys online and showcase how they read the Bible and spend time with God. Sharing these practices isn’t inherently wrong, particularly if the intention is to help and educate others on incorporating them into their personal lives. However, it’s easy to see these examples and think, "This is how my Bible reading should be; this is how I should do this," which isn’t necessarily true. Let us keep our eyes focused on Christ. While we can learn and glean wisdom from our brothers and sisters in Christ, they are not the standard.

The biggest thing that has helped me develop my faith and hunger to genuinely read the Word more has been understanding the context of it all. Christ was sent from heaven above not only for our salvation, but to also share a piece what it felt like living on this earth. All the things we go through and experience. That and all the other stories in the bible make it way more captivating because they are real and there's always some story where you can find it relatable to the point that you could associate it to a piece of your life. It definitely makes it more exciting

i believe this clearly aligns with this vidoe's topic. we can get to know God through sermons, apologetics, theologiacal videos, etc.
but those are more of a supplement than the primary way of building our relationship with God.
they are important for sure, but we are following Christ.
anyone who aligns with Him, we learn from, but as soon as they deviate, we can't keep following.
can't get to know God vicariously through someone else.

Thank so much for this, cause battling the idea of control and wanting our lives to look a certain way based on what other's relationship with Jesus look like. We want to hear and be directed by them than Jesus himself. Proverbs 16:9 “A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.”
