Yeah while these comics weren't the best they at least tried to have an expansive story and lots of character development which was pretty good in my opinion. Sometimes I wish that the Sonic Comic characters were actually in the game.

Actually I’m feeling optimistic about the direction sonic is going. Sonic frontiers looks like it could be awesome. The new movies as well as the new sonic prime show sounds very promising. Also I’m personally really enjoying the IDW comics.

Yeah, I remember reading this and getting the feels when you can tell how Tails' frustration isn't just at Sonic in general, but also the stuff between them with Fiona on top of Tails just wanting to protect his parents. We know the Archie comics are a different canon to the games, so it's interesting to hear how this went.
Having the villains laugh while Sonic and Tails fight was a nice touch.
So you guys were actually rooting for the villains and thought they were less evil than Sonic for bashing him for his (failed) love life as if he were just some bad boyfriend that gave all his ex-girlfriends (even Fiona) what they never deserved?

Fiona deserved that from Sonic for cheating on him and Tails also deserved that for acting like it’s worse than the end of the world that Sonic even dated someone other than Amy or Sally (whom he would get back together with until around the end of the Archie series, Sally would switch to Nicole because he thankfully treats a plural amount of sexual orientations with respect!)
Fun fact: Mammoth Mogul bets on sonic because he’s accepted that he shouldn’t oppose sonic because something cosmic tips the scales in his favor. He actually says this in a comic

Yeah to him, Sonic is the "Chaos Factor" something that can never be accounted for. His only solution was to just wait until Sonic died of old age. This is coming from the guy that crushed millions of universe/galaxies with his hand..

Actually mogul could defeat sonic twice but was tails who in the end outpowered him and defeat it, in the previous issue mogul tells amadeus that his son is a extraordinary individual who prevents him for destroy the multiverse and not sonic, moguls comentary made reference to an actual rule that writers had to follow for the character in the comics that implies “sonic cannot lose” its a 4 breaking reference.

Yeah, Sonic and Tails are too close in the games' canon for something like this to happen, and we've seen how even as young as Tails is, Sonic still does care a lot about him. Even in Sonic Boom's canon, we see Sonic own up to mistakes he makes with Tails like firing him from being his sidekick when he crashed pretty badly in the Tornado in a battle with Eggman in one of the first aired episodes.
@@BryonYoungblood these days in the games though. I'd disagree on them being close. Segas been using them as background characters alot recently to the point I could see them taking out all of sonics friends in frontiers

Better more emotional between Sonic and Tails moment than I ever imagined that could done!
That make me event more frustrated Sega failed miserably to do this kind of touching reunion moment between them in Sonic Force! I hope the next game wanna being into that spirit if he trying to use seriously the potential idea for the franchise than just take some cool idea and just mentioned for looking a bit cool and above all cliché but not TRULY used for make something ICONIC with a marking identity like Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 or sonic Unleashed or sonic Hero or something that improve the character and the lore!
I would love to see something like this in the games where there's a genuine conflict between Sonic and Tails, just to illustrate that even the strongest bonds can be strained

Man, oh man! I knew about the Sonic Archie Comics, but never before in a MILLION YEARS! Have I ever seen Tails and Sonic fight like this... I never wanted to think what about the though of it and why this happened... I have to agreed what Pokehero191 said though a lot he said is a lot of what I would rather say too... Im beyond relieved that they were able to make up in the end. Thanks for the COMIC DUB!

Right, Sonic voice got me confused. Sounds very good, even Tails didn’t sound annoying like the current official Tails VA.
I understand why this fight happened growing up but I always saw it as stupid. Not saying that this fight shouldn't have happened or that it came out of nowhere. This crap's been building up since Sonic's birthday bash that Scourge crashed. It's just I always saw Tails as the idiot here. Picking a fight with someone that could easily destroy you over Fiona of all people? There are better women to simp over Tails and she ain't that girl bro. She ain't that girl. But still seeing the fight be resolved will always be one of Archie Comic Sonic's greatest moments IMO

The fight was stupid and honestly Tails had no chance in getting Fiona. He was in love with a robot version of her that Eggman created and the real one is 16. The real Fiona had no interest in Tails who was 11 in the comics and it just wouldn't work. The idea of Sonic of dating Fiona so Tails would get over her was also dumb and bad writing
I love that after hearing Tails out, Sonic offered for Tails to be able to go out on him. Sonic is such a chad.
Overall, a pretty wholesome moment, .5/5 icecubes (basically a 9/10)
Don't get me wrong I love the majority of the games as they are, but a little emotion like this would be nice, and I don't mean fake outs either.
This scene is so half-baked by people, but for people who actually read it, we all agree it's amazing and emotional. I wish we could still have a seen where Sonic cries.
This made me cry. Sonic was so used to going with the flow he thought he could fix everything. But once he realized how tails felt that's what truly hit him. Sonic does learn from his mistakes. Tails does matter to him. I bet he'd die for him. I mean Sonic was holding back on tails for a bit.

Bruh even the 2 sonic movies are getting the characters right and video game movies are often a curse but sonic just nails it like nothing but it’s always the games they mess up the characters Ian Flynn is writing frontiers story so I have hope the story will be good but as for gameplay I’m really not sure cause we haven’t seen any gameplay for frontiers in a year since it was announced

*Why Sonic the Hedgehog is better than Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader*
As the guy who inspired his friends to become stronger people in so many ways (not just their strength, but also their attitudes), even after Sonic would turn to the dark side, he finally finds out about the error of his ways (breaking up with angry ex-girlfriends wasn’t one of them in itself, but it might be the cause of how he turned into an egotistical mess just to finally realize the worst of karma that it lead to even when it meant his best friend making him look weak (both in terms of his skills (now, a lot if us may have found out that Archie Sonic himself is actually even more powerful than any other Sonic who is known to be strong, but it still doesn’t change that he wouldn’t use all his power to murder Tails unless he wanted EVERYONE to turn on him just like he did in issue 47 when he (accidentally) killed Sally leading her to slap him with all her fury in issue 134 even though that also made her out of character even as far back as issue 7 when she didn’t apologize for poking Sonic with a stick) as a person to the point where he and his parents would even let the villains make him look bad) kicking his ass constantly to the point where that was the main way where Sonic would finally realize that he has been selfish after all and that he will succeed on doing so much better every next time, even in later issues where he would rightfully take all his anger out on Silver, Knuckles and the Babylon Rogues in early 2010s (2010-2012) issues).
As for Anakin, on the other hand, he was perfectly capable of not letting Emperor Palpatine seduce him to the dark side, but even after two movies where he was (or at least pretended to be) close with the Jedi (specifically episode 2), but what makes him worse than Sonic (even at his true worst in the 2010s games, especially Forces when he was never painted as the bad guy for feeling like a cold-hearted Gary Stu that never takes anything seriously even when he was beaten and then imprisoned) would have to be all the children he murdered and (possibly) all the women he might have cheated on his pregnant ex-wife with before she would find out that he turned evil, especially when he invisibly strangled her to death which lead to the epic battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker (later known as Darth Vader, and this is how the super underrated Prequel Trilogy turned into the overrated-but-still-charming Original Trilogy).
And that, sega, is what we like to call, "a meangingful fight between two best freinds." Tails in lost world did not do this.

That wasn’t even a tiny bit of Archie Sonic’s strength. Not to mention he was totally holding back against his friend.
Thats like saying an evil Batman can beat Superman with no Kryptonite, Superman wouldn't want to attack Batman, so if he attacks it wont be anything serious, but Batman is attacking all he can, and while he might knock Superman around, at the end of the day its really nothing

Sonic is always the strongest, but I like how in the comic Tails isn’t that behind like Modern Tails from the games. I dont follow the comics, but I like what I see. This Tails is truly Sonic sidekick and best friend.

Whoa... I never expected this to be in the comics at all, but I was so shocked upon discovering it for the first time! The voice acting for the characters was really incredible and well done, so kudos to both of you! :) 👏👍

It’s very rare for him. I feel like it’s because he canonically doesn’t like seeing others cry (or at least, he didn’t in the past) or cuz he just wants to stay strong for others’ sakes. So when he actually does start shedding tears, it hits all the harder. But one of those blasted mandates, the one about not showing “excessive emotion”, has made that virtually impossible.
Just once, I’d like to see him cry again, in a game, a comic, whatever. He needs to be able to express himself to the fullest. I’d probably cry my heart out, but I wouldn’t care. He NEEDS this

I remember getting this exact comic as a kid. I collected a lot of Sonic Comics and was so invested in the lore. I remember this comic specifically making me emotional.

Everyone is talking about Tails beating up Sonic, but if you did read the comic, then you know that Sonic didn't take that fight seriously. Sonic was trying to dodge and pre-long the fight just to talk, but he could end it very quickly at any moment, though he knew that it wasn't a solution, so he didn't knock out Tails in seconds.
MAN I REMEMBER READING THIS COMIC WAY BACK-i used to enjoy reading those sorta comics all the time.. thanks for the memories dude

Ehh, I don't like all the romantic drama in a Sonic story. Sonic is supposed to be a fun and exciting story about the amazing adventures of a blue, fast hedgehog and his animal friends his like in the games.
All the seriousness and the drama is just.... so unlike Sonic. Sonic is a free spirit, I can't see him hooking up with anyone because he was always uninterested in that kind of thing and just living his life in his own pace.

Which games are you talking about? This comic was published in 2007. Back then, Sonic Adventure 2 was generally considered the pinnacle of Sonic storytelling, and it has a plot involving terrorism, government conspiracies, unethical experimentation and the brutal killing of a young girl. Sonic '06 (the most recent Sonic game at the time) has a plot involving demonic possession and attempted murder. You're telling me two friends having a misunderstanding is too serious and dramatic for _that_ franchise?

They waited too long to have them fight over Sonic dating Fiona. In the period after she left him up until issue 176, Tails just acted friendly with Sonic like usual. So having the resentment come back out of nowhere like this doesn’t make sense.
That's the psychology to you. Rarely one wish to show his weakness or emotional wounds to one's close friends, so happy-go-lucky masquerade is often a go-to way of coping.
It was not out of nowhere it was after sonic laughed at Tails father and wanted him to be on prison. When Tails had all those things inside of him he ended up exploding.
If Eggman saw that Tails hate sonic so much and wants to fight him, do you think Eggman would’ve had Tails to join him on his dark side to destroy sonic for betraying Tails?

This is so well made it, Archie Sonic is starting to gain more recognition as time goes by, but people are just caring how about he is powerful or can defeat some overpowered character, he is more than a op character, he is the best Sonic encarnation that we ever had, and nothing makes me angrier than people who just take things out of context and talk about the bad art moments just to make him look a bad character or make people hate the Archie Comics even though it has countless outstanding characters, wonderful stories and that sometimes can teach us a lot of things.
I always hated this story. Sonic and Tails have such a touching friendship. It was painful to see them fight.

damn man , i haven't read the comics or any issue but ... : i know abit of Tails and Sonic were best freinds (haven't read but have watch the cartoon abit . like "Sonic Boom" or "Sonic Mania" ,also play some of the game like Sonic 1 , Sonic 2 , Sonic Advance [and nope , the game didn't have sonic and Tails go together ;-;!!] )
it just sad how and why they fight ( and hurting) each other and it make me drop my tears , mostly Tails cuz his was my favorite character (just sad why they fight each other ) , the reason make Tails get mad are true ... very true ... and finaly .... they end up good , that make me calm down
