Its better to notify Arbeitsamt within 3 days of receiving termination notice, else they can again put a certain blocking period for paying out the amount.

Hello Arun, I have a Blue Card which expires in 2026. I recently lost my job but I am ineligible for unemployment benefits since I worked for less than a year in Germany. I have heard that a Blue Card is valid for 3 months if you lose your job. Do I need to inform the immigration/visa authorities about my situation? So far I have informed my insurance provider (TK) and I have an appointment with the German Job Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) next week to register as unemployed and a job seeker. I want to ensure that I get at least 3 months on my visa and 6 months if possible by applying for a job seeker visa. If anyone knows who I need to inform from the immigration/visa office and the associated procedure, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi Arun, I completed my master's, received a Job contract and got Blue card confirmation. My job contract starts from 1st of April but unfortunately, I received termination letter from employer on 24th March that they are terminating me on the first day of employment with two weeks notice till 15th April.
