I've been a registered Independent my entire adult life, but more than ever I'm a hopeful American. The change and optimism the Democratic party is bringing is really energizing.

I have too but i changed to democrat this year. The right has nothing left for me anymore right now. I am hopeful that if we get Harris in we can get the right back from the radicals but until that actually happens i felt it would send a message switching to democrat

I grew up Evangelical but religion went against my faith and morals. I'm not a Democrat because they've been center/center right until recently, but I do vote blue because I care about my country and fellow Americans.

The Biden/Harris team has a ground game in place for years. Harris/Walz will have that at their disposal. Biden is a consummate politician always with an eye and ears for political strategy. I have not seen any other speaker look into the camera and point to directly address and include the home viewers. For someone who has not done a lot of these speeches he really got my attention and made me (a home viewer) an actual participant. Excellent job Tim Walz.

"Stolen valor" is complete hogwash. Facts: Walz retired in May, 2005. Orders to deploy to Iraq were received by his unit in July, 2005. Stateside, Walz was only still in the Guard on a waiver due to his extreme hearing loss. He knew he was ineligible to be deployed to a war zone because he couldn't pass the physical. Paperwork also shows he filed to run for Congress around the same time, but he couldn't have been deployed to Iraq with his men in any case.

I think announcing right after the RNC was strategy. Maybe his, maybe not. Doesn't matter. It was ultimately up to him, and coerced or not, he did the right thing. He'll be known forever as one of the greatest Presidents of all time, and nothing can take that away from him now. Had he stayed in and lost, his legacy would have been ruined.
I have to admit, compared to the alternative what the Dems are offering is looking better and better each and every day.

The DNC needs to develop and cement in a decades long strategy to continuously develop and exploit such talent to the point where the GOP disappears from the political landscape or it is replaced by serious, nation focussed operators as a proper centre right party that never allows the growth from within or offers a home to the likes of a Tea Party or MAGA. Instead of the Democrats having to continuously fight a party that is more motivated to bend the rules through voter suppression, Gerrymandering etc, America would be better served by having a proper opposition that sees improvement of American society as their main motivation.

It amazed me with glee how the Democratic Party coalesced so swiftly into one well organized organization with a turbocharged campaign machinery that overwhelms the opponents.
You are the power of one that is the many. If you influence just two people, and each of those two people influences two people, and so on, you will have influenced a multitude of people in no time. The task is simple but not easy. You have to get off the couch and go out there to talk to family and friends about the importance of creating a future of hope and happiness for all. In doing so you will dispel fear, anger, hopelessness and apathy.
I personally want to say THANK YOU to Jacob! Beside his great coverage of the convention PLEASE don't forget this man was at the border when trump was taking children away from their parents! This man was at the border almost everyday! He was there when our most precious babies were gun down in their school in Texas! I see a pulitzer prize in his future!!!
