Not exactly ! It's a new writing in itself. This Violin Concerto draws on Classical-era models such as Mozart, but it is influenced by French innovations in violin writing developed in Mendelssohn’s own time, and fully exploits the evolving techniques of new virtuosos. *Lucien*
The very young Mozart started writing music (minuets) at the age of 6! Son of Leopold Mozart, composer and music teacher, Mozart was immersed in music from his childhood. His genius was detected very early: barely 3 years old, the young Wolfgang had an ear absolute and probably an eidetic memory that allowed him to memorize a large number of sounds in a very short time. Before learning to read, count or write, Mozart knew how to decipher a partition and play it perfectly. With a frivolous and capricious temperament... The genius of music still today arouses the interest of many researchers and the fascination of the general public. He hated the nobility and that he was not an enemy with Salieri? *Lucien*
Do it asap. In most cities concert halls were struggling before the pandemic if they even had one. People seem to think its too posh and expensive. Get a cheap seat, behind a column. You are there for the listening, not the seeing.
I just stumbled across your channel, and you've reminded me so of a lost love for the symphony. It was absolutely beautiful my dear. And if there's one thing I thank the internet for, cause the list is short, it's that it allows people to see such beautiful masterpieces.
The Concerto for Violin No. 1 in D minor was composed by Felix Mendelssohn during his teenage years. This Violin Concerto draws on Classical-era models such as Mozart, but above all it is influenced by French innovations in violin writing developed in Mendelssohn’s own time, and fully exploits the evolving techniques of new virtuosos. Mendelssohn was considered by many of his time to be a prodigy comparable to the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Besides being a brilliant piano virtuoso, his composition took a firm step forward in musical development. In the period when this concerto was composed, Mendelssohn already has twelve symphonies for strings in his repertoire but he wrote also a trio for strings, a violin and piano sonata and two piano sonatas then other pieces. In this composition « Allegro molto », the struggle between the soloist, whose firmness of line does not exclude tenderness or entreaty, and an orchestra in threatening and stormy unisons, constantly revives the interest of the discourse, whose tension does not knows no relaxation. For those who absolutely want to find Mozart in Mendelssohn, the « Andante » which follows this somewhat hectic first movement will bring intense satisfaction. Peaceful and luminous, this page with dreamy lyricism, on edge, remains faithful to the demands of clarity and balance of the classical tradition. It is the memory of Haydn which comes to invite itself in the last movement, whose thematic elaboration is based on a melody of undoubtedly popular essence. Brilliant page, removed, of a rhythmic alacrity which invites to the dance, this final « Allegro » nevertheless remains more ambiguous than a superficial approach might suggest, the shadows that presided over the first movement, and the waking dream which was fogging up the second, passes finally succinctly. For all this, interpretation is here in a perfect finesse without heaviness or pose, and which will never prevail far from here. *Lucien*
Bei diesem Stück bekomme ich Gänsehaut und gleichzeitig ist mein Herz so berührt, dass mir die Tränen in die Augen schießen. Vielen herzlichen Dank fürs Teilhaben, Sven
You are a Goddess, and this is a masterpiece. A suitable fit. I’m lucky to be be able to be able to enjoy both. Mendelssohn is a master and you are a delicate, rare talent giving him voice.

I'd absolutely love to do your next music video! I'd do it free of charge, cinema quality, just to work with you. You previous videos are great and I could deliver or exceed that quality, with a theme of your choosing, or we could do a single-shot live performance.
When is she going to start playing Metallica or KoRn?? I can not wait, to see _that_ transformation! 🤞As you can tell, she has _clearly_ perfected _all_ classical violin music.😂 🤗🇨🇦
The string snap video brought me here and I'm glad it did
"snap" literally!!!! this is fantastic... love to hear her live...
Me too
Same here. And lo, I’m glad your kite string is holding you aloft better than her violin string. It’s spring, time to fly! Be free!
Same here.....
Ditto
Mendelssohn was 13 years old when he wrote this piece, which is why it bears a striking resemblance to Mozart's style of composing.
And compels youthful exuberance

Wow, the harmony among the orchestra is sublime. And the violinist brings tears to your eyes.
Fantastisch, viel zu selten gespielt, und dann so großartig! Ganz große Kunst, Kristine, Du bist einzigartig!
This made my night. A sudden sense of calm washed over me. Exactly what I needed. Really great performance.
The way you transition into a full vibrato with a vibrato crescendo on certain notes is beautiful.
Oh my, how nice to have access to such a beautiful performance! :) Thank you so much for sharing!
