Tomorrow, I want to make one. With a fishing line, hooks and matches inside, it could be really helpful if you stranded somewhere or you got lost in the woods! Good advice👍🏻
What a lot of effort for something that looks like it is going to leak like a sieve. I make salt and pepper containers for camping with these by drilling the valve assembly out of the neck and fitting rubber stoppers to them once filled. You can also key them with glass paper and spray them jazzy hi gloss colours to match your sigg bottles.
good job on making something and hopefully it works good for whatever you need it to do. Obviously there could be improvements but that comes with time, money, tools, etc. Keep up the great work man!
Just saw this. Great idea!!! For the naysayers, it's not about how much time it takes. It's about finding a use for something that would otherwise make it into the trash. It's about expanding your thought process. And it's about finding a way to make something you want or need when "buying" it ISN'T an option anymore. Yes, you can currently buy something similar right now, but that's not what is important here. What's important is the fresh idea presented. Again, Great Idea! And for those who would say "But he used electricity" I'll just comment 'solar', and 'water wheel', and 'exercise bike', and 'animal treadmill', and etc.
Yes it's uses don't add up to the amount of work it took to make it. But you did a helluva job executing an idea you had, nicely done👌 I've made plenty of pointless little things but the satisfaction out ways anything
Well done man. Ignore the bad comments. It's easier to go to the shop and buy... It takes effort, time and some brains to come up with new ideas. Recycling is the soul of the video. If for some it useless, then make the video an example and make something that is useful for you.. if the OP creator of the video needs something like this, then at least he is making an effort to make one for himself. Made not bought. Recycle and remake 👍 bon travail..
5:37 if you sanded of the cut the fit would be better. Also you could draw a line (in lengh) with a permanent marker before you cut so you know the exact position before you glue it together. (would be a nearly perfect fit)
Nice idea, but might I suggest using a pipe cutter to cut through the cylinder, rather than doing it freehand with a hacksaw. Then it will be cut perfectly square and the two parts will fit together again properly.
there's a cooler all metal version. not 100% waterproof and airtight, but much more sturdy. (you can always seal it with tape) -take two capsules and cut them like this: body-> (ZZZZZ/ /)= (ZZZ/ /ZZ/
Many people are commenting that its useless but you can stash a lot of things in it that you want to remain hidden. For example you can stuff a $100 bill in it and toss the used co2 cartridge with a bunch of unused cartridges in a tool box. Dont think the wife would find it there next time shes looking for cash to buy a new purse. I wonder if you could install a flash drive in it, damn thing would be indestructible.
Hello, all the English people. Please notice, that the rest of this channel is in French. But, don't worry guys, I made a second channel, where I'll upload the same projects, but with a shorter and more dynamic editing style. So, for those who are interested: ua-cam.com/channels/lqb1JRh9AMYuZ0VGpgRfLA.html
If the canister is only going to be opened once-say for matches to start a fire in an emergency-then it could simply be sealed shut with black electrical tape or aluminum HVAC tape. That'd keep it watertight and be a lot less work.
I think the best use here would be using one to keep your samich in cause I too likes me a samich sometimes, and then the other two could be coupled together like twin dive tanks so you'd have twice the amount of air - thanks for the idea, now I know I can survive anything as long as I can find me a supply of C02 cartridges.
Should have put the hacksaw in the vice and kept the cartridge in the drill. Spinning the cartridge into the blade would give a "true" cut. perfectly straight.
I have about 500 empty co2 good idea I will put rubber o ring when I make 2 to keep me pellets in hang off ma belt happy days. Thanks for sharing. Any ideas what I can use 400 CDs & dvds for apart from land fill or coasters.
It's a neat idea, but it's rather impractical considering the amount of effort required coupled with the extremely limited storage space and probable lack of waterproof and airtight properties
@@marksullivan6319 The version I did in the video unfortunately isn't because of the hole in the top for the keychain. But that could be fixed with some glue or epoxy for metal - just fill the top with epoxy before drilling the hole.
@@LesTutosdUneMinute oh didn't think about that, true. This would probably be a cool piece too have for people in the paintball or outdoor/hiking community.
Fantastic ! I will do just the same, but with one big oxygene bottle where I can store 200 pounds of patatoes, noodels, rice and a few beer bottles of course, and then hang it up on my neck.
Well, yeah, with a proper metal band saw, the result would have looked a lot cleaner indeed. And with a 3D printer, the result would have been even semi-professional.
I tried it, but it only scratches the paint on the surface (that's logical, because these containers are meant to store gaz under a big pressure, and a pipe cutter only needs to cut a thin pipe).
I'm sure you have to be REAAAAAALYYYYYY dumb to cut it when it's under pressure. But ok, I'll add that in the description to prevent getting in trouble.

for 4,5mm steel BBs (what i use in my co2 pistol) i just drill the original hole to 4,5mm and than make M5 thread and place a screw with a 2mm hole for the split ring ;)

I’ve always never wanted one of these things.

the thing is that with these you can also pack quite a punch with the blunt end. A self defense gadget and a container in one is a good idea.

Nicely done.
But to much work. You can buy stainless steel pill holder for your key ring.
I like that you think outside the box.

Use a pipe cutter to make the cut and it'd be perfect every time
I honestly think every part of that video was sick
Thanks! You really warmed my heart! ♥️💕🤗😘
If you need it to be waterproof then put an 'O' ring between the two halves where they screw together - probably look better too!

Storing matches and something to strike them with would be a good idea. Also, some flint might fit if you can find a small enough one.

Nice, but one might want to leave a small space for an o-ring for better seal.
A whole lot of work for a whole lot of nothing.

Cedric De Paepe LOL!!! Not a hater. Just a realist.

Exactly what I was thinking... you can barley fit anything in it.
Bud Nunyerbusiness I just use my empty Rx bottles. 😂
Put a small rubber O ring on the top piece and make it waterproof
I have several of these. I’ll have to make some on a rainy day.
Cheers!
I like the fact that it has universal purpose and it’s very simple to make with few parts. It’s a win win.

Couldn't these be repressurized and used again as co2 cartridges ?
That's exactly what I need in a survival situation BB's 🤔
for sure in survival situation you will need somthing like this to have your money hahahahaha
15 per shell
In my opinion, matches, some slim razorblades, a fishing line and hooks would be the best fitting surviving content!
Super simpa le montage et bon choix des musiques

can you put drugs in this?
yup
You can use the 5 Euro to snort cocaine.

Très bonne idée, et pour le tutoriel pour graver ça serait bien oui ;)
Pas besoin de tuto pour gravwer lol il suffit d'être intelligent un peu et débrouillard c,est facile.

They have been sitting there in a drawer for more than 5 years. Might do something else with them someday.

How much pressure can i fill in it, until it will explode?
My English is bad, im from germany.
I made one of these, I keep it in my prison wallet.
Just melt them for scrap or fill them with gunpowder and stick a fuse in the end. Don't blow your hand off.
I'm planning to melt the rest of these (I've got a LOT of them), but I dont have foundry. Maybe in the future..

good toilet paper too

You could make a more even cut if you use a rotational copper tube cutter instead of a saw.
Hushwater im sure it would work a few times but the cutting wheel on a tubing cutter is intended for soft material like copper not those
