Second shot is making me feel like I just ran a marathon. My body aches, my skin feels sore to the touch, having headaches, fever and chills. It sucks. Still glad I got it though bc I am asthmatic.
As an asthmatic, I can assure you, you made the right call. I got COVID last year and it took me well over 6 months to recover. And I'm only 29! Congratulations for protecting yourself and your wellbeing! I'm sure the 2nd shot was less than ideal but you did yourself such a service in terms of your long term health. Go you!
My first Pfizer dose left me a bit sleepy for a day. The second dose left me with "cold sweats," loss of appetite, serious exhaustion and flue like symptoms for two days. It was worth it. I'm 72 and interested to hear what younger people are experiencing
I'm 42. Had sever side effects after 2nd dose. Well nausea, fatigue, headache, vomiting. Couldn't even walk 10 steps. It's being 2 days and I'm still in bed
Just had my first Moderna yesterday. No symptoms besides a very sore arm. I've heard the second vaccine is worse for everyone assuming they previously haven't had Corona.
@@elimccain1728 I hope you feel better soon. Symptoms shouldn't last more than 2-3 days, and if they do, contact your doctor! What vaccine did you receive?
The 2nd shot was definitely rough. However, back in March-April 2020, I spent 38 days in the Hospital (16 of those days in ICU on a Ventilator). I’d rather not go through that again if I can avoid it.
I received my first dose of Moderna yesterday. Didn’t even feel the needle. About 4 hours later my arm started getting sore and is still sore. Much better than the virus I’m sure.
24 hours after my second Moderna shot, I had what felt like the worse flu in my life! Bad cold chills. 102F fever, body aches, and my arm was swollen and very painful. I couldn't believe how bad i felt. But, when i woke up the following morning, i felt almost back to normal. By 48 hrs after shot, i felt perfectly normal.
@@JustOneGirl81 the body was getting used to the first dose and when the second dose came the body attacks it, like when your body fights germ that's basically what the sick feeling is actually
remember folks, the symptoms of illness, the aches, pains, fever, etc. That's your immune system working, that isn't the virus itself making you feel that way, that's your body's defenses kicking on and a sign that it's taking the threat against you seriously.
And the immune response is energy intensive, which will tire out people who don't have the energy budget. Especially for long distance commuters. Drive with caution.
@Jd504 I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but when it’s the actual virus replicating inside you and not just a harmless spike protein, the symptoms can be much worse, can linger and do possibly permanent damage to lungs and brain, and there’s a statistically significant change of dying.
@Jd504 let me put it this way, it’s like a fire drill VS an actual fire. You (your immune system) may respond the same way to both, but you’re only in real danger from one of those scenarios. Unless you’re immune system over-reacts to the drill, which can happen, but is still far less likely than being seriously hurt from the actual real deal.
@Jd504 It's a bit like a sparring match vs being in a genuine fight. You might get a bruise or get punched hard during a sparring match but when it comes to a genuine, all out brawl you're gonna be happy you trained first and got ready. That's what a vaccine is, it's like a false flag attack on your own body. You make your own body think that it's under attack from something so it will build it's defenses and study the invader you told it is coming. Then your immune system sits ready and waiting for the day and if the virus does just so happen to enter your body it doesn't stand a chance because you got your defenses ready.
@@OrangeFluffyCat and yeah you're right about the fire drill analogy. A fire drill is everyone practicing what to do in order to get ready. An actual fire though involves smoke and heat and flames and a potential loss of air. A vaccine is tricking your body into thinking it's being attacked so it puts up a fight but there's no real danger. An actual really real viral attack involves the cells of your body being damaged and destroyed and other cells being diverted from their jobs to make more viruses. Only difference is that your immune system cells won't panic cause the building is actually on fire.
I had 102 fever for 2days, threw up 3x and Nausea, all over soreness, headache, and exhaustion (slept for 15hours a day for 2 days) it was a rough ride but I'm still happy I did it!
I found an article from Pfizer saying that 1700 families died from the vaccine but look how many were saving this was the first month.. if I could find it I'm sure you could too not trying to scare anybody but this is reality... not sure what the updated numbers are...🤔🤔
@@melbourne-heat.69-71 ppl are completely insane.. the virus has incredibly high survival rate..... and they elect to give themselves the severe flu ..and. happy to do so...nuts!
the vaccine is a new technology, different than previous vaccines. it is not FDA approved, there is no long term human clinical trial data, as it is still in phase 3 of trials.. unfortunately we are the phase 3 trial! bodily autonomy and rights are underminded if forced vaccination ensues. critical thinking and logical concerns are not conspiracy and paranoia. while no one has a right to force someone to eat GMO food or drink chlorinated water against their wills, the same respect needs to be given for an experimental medicine with unknown long-term outcomes... Stand for health freedom....
The second dose really laid me out--I stood up too fast and saw shrimp colors. Or maybe it was a glimpse of the 5th dimension. Either way, if you're reading this I'd highly recommend making sure you don't have anything to do the day after your second dose.
Does your first dose also have intense side effects? Im curious if the "second dose effect" only amplifies from the 1st one, in other word your 1st shot will determine if the 2nd one will be intense or not.
@@Crustee0 I can't say on a really large scale. The people I know who have gotten a first dose (n=6) have all had muscle ache at the injection site and only one had any other symptoms with the first dose (some lightheadedness and fatigue later in the day.) The experience among my friends and coworkers who have gotten a second dose (n = 5) was that it hit us 12-14 hours after the shot and laid us out for at least 24 hours, except for one of my coworkers who did not have any side effects. Another of my coworkers took more like 48 hours to recover and was still fatigued for a couple of days afterward. The way I'd describe it is like having half the flu. Everyone in this group had nothing but arm muscle soreness after the first injection. I was personally expecting a reaction closer to what I get with a flu vaccine (which is to say, none at all), so it took me by surprise. There is absolute consensus between all of us that we would not hesitate a second to go through it again in order to not get covid.

But I was doing a vaccine clinic at work (health care site) and after sitting for the fifteen minutes I was up and about helping any others who needed their breaks and overall clinic management etc. Did you notice side effects day of your second? I'm wondering if maybe I should have someone drive me considering I had symptoms pretty soon after first dose! Also have rheumatoid arthritis so compromised immune system
Thanks, everybody, now I'll know not to plan anything the day after... whenever I get the shots. I'll have to wait though. Not a health care worker or over 65.
I had a "mysterious respiratory virus" in late 2019. After my first dose of Moderna was absolute HELL, I'm beginning to wonder if that mystery virus was Covid-19.
In mid January I started with a cough that became pretty constant. Still had it mid February. I was tired and had a slight fever a couple of days. I didn't get rid of my cough until mid March. Went to see the doctor in the middle of all that and only got a Z pack. It didn't do any good so I just rode it out. Finally got back to normal about the beginning of April. Minor case of Covid ?
By now you probably heard the news that they are highly suspecting that Covid was here in US way earlier than thought. So you just may have had it then.
I had 2 lung infections in 2019...one in Feb and one in June...both after flying. Took me 2-3 months after each before I wasn’t out of breath anymore. I’m in my early 40’s and never had a lung infection in my entire life before 2019.
My wife who is allergic to near everything had little to no reaction on her second shot. First shot gave us both the munchies. I had no issues with my second shot. So dont freak yourselves out till you actually get symptoms. Ps, we are both 71.
I had no problems either. My daughter and her husband get their second shot this Sunday, they are in their 30’s all of their friends who’ve gotten their second shot had reactions to it. ( she heard young people had bigger reactions older people didn’t, 63 here)
Ok RIGHT I thought I was the only one that got munchies after my 1st shot ahaha so strange! I’m still waiting for my second shot, but hopefully there’s no issue as well 🙏
After my 2nd Pfizer dose, I had chills, malaise, headache, nausea, and dizziness. Most sick I’ve felt in years while my roommate had a sore arm from his. Makes me terrified of what real Covid would have done to me.
Unless you are pathologically overweight or immunosuppressed COVID-19 is not likely to do much to you at all. Right from the early days it was seen that, aside from extreme age, the biggest factor by far for serious COVID-19 complications was a pathological BMI. It really is that simple and the molecular biology of how the virus interacts with your cells demonstrates exactly why this is the case.
@@DanielSMatthews this is a gross oversimplification. Otherwise healthy individuals can and have succumbed to the virus because viral load is a huge factor in disease severity for this virus. You can have all the protective factors in the world, but if you get huge and continual exposure such as what we see with essential workers such as retail workers, the chance severity of symptoms, long term complications and mortality increase pretty significantly.
@@DanielSMatthews I am a healthy 18 year old and COVID was not fun. I had the flu earlier last year and COVID was much much worse. I had a lot of trouble breathing and experienced chest tightness. Those two symptoms, along with body aches and soreness kept me up for hours at night. Even when I was testing negative, I still experienced trouble breathing, and loss of taste and smell for about two weeks more.
My experience: First dose had no reaction, second dose felt like a typical "pre-cold" with slight aches and "feeling off" but nothing bad at all, no lethargy, headache, or fever.
@Harley Rider 07 in the last video he described how the RNA was coated in lipids to deliver the RNA vaccine to cells, without this coating tho this free floating RNA got destroyed by immune cells or picked up by cancerous/tumor cells wich i find a little spooky. How well are they coated is what im wondering, if it has any chance of causing tumors i doubt theyd tell the public.
No chance of forming tumors. It codes for foreign spike proteins. Tumors are comprised of your own cells, which is why your immune system has a hard time detecting them. The lipid coating is to prevent the RNA from being degraded in your blood and to allow it into the cell. Without the lipid coating, it doesn’t do any harm. It just fails to give immunity.
That second Moderna shot kicked like a mule. I went to bed and woke up a couple hours later with chills, fever, and a raging headache that kept me up the entire night and made me call in for work the next day. I actually forgot what the flu really felt like since it had been so many years since I had one. Still 100% worth it.
Doesn't sound like it. It sounds like your symptoms from the vaccine were as bad as a normal case of full blown covid19 and you nearly died. You're not supposed to get a FEVER from a vaccine! The whole point is preventing that!
@@medexamtoolscom I came nowhere close to dying 😆 I've had the flu where I'm hallucinating from fever and not able to keep food down for days. This was nowhere near that. My experience. The first shot I felt nothing, a little burning in the back of my throat maybe. But oh, boy that second shot! I felt that after a few minutes. Did I forget to mention I'm talking about my time at a bar?
I just had my second shot & I took big & relaxing breathes while being given the shot, & while waiting the recommended time afterwards, I used a foam stress ball on the same arm, almost no discomfort or side effects!
Got my first Pfizer covid vaccine yesterday afternoon. My friend and I went together in case one of us reacted. We are both senior citizens he 72, me 68. We waited 25 minutes with no symptoms, then I drove us home. We called one another in the evening to "compare any side effects". We both had very sore stiff necks and it hurt to move our necks much. We both started to have soreness in both arms, but the arm we got the vaccine in was more sore, Both of us had "heavy very tired feeling" in both of our legs. We both felt kind of sore aching in general. Tonight we compared symptoms again. His symptoms were all gone, my neck is still stiff, but not as bad, my legs still feel a bit 'heavy" but not as bad. I feel rather tired and worn out. Anyone else get the stiff neck deal? I keep reading info on side effects of covid vaccine and haven't found anything about the stiff neck.
I just got the 1st Moderna vaccine yesterday, and I had a stiff neck as well, along with aches, fatigue and slight fever (I wonder if I already had Covid previously, and didn't realize it?). My neck is prone to stiffness, however, I get a stiff neck every couple of weeks or so.
I received my first shot Saturday. My arm is still sore, but, I felt ill, had a fever And a stiff neck and shoulders. I slept most of the next day. I had covid in February, the sickest I have ever been. I don't want to go through the illness again.
I am 65. My uncle is 83. We both got our second shot yesterday. My uncle, aside from being a little tired, is O.K. But me, headache, chills, body aches, bones hurt, sleepiness. It's no worse than the common flu. In two weeks I'm going to go to the gym. You know the story. Baking, cooking, no exercise. My belly looks like I swallowed a pilates ball!
My dad is being taken to the hospital as I type this. I'm scared. He was confused and couldn't breath. Oh God I hope he doesn't die. He was so so sick.

Push fluids and I mean at least a gallon a day. Being overly hydrated makes the body work better and lowers the side effects experienced. Worked for me and everyone who tried it.
I got both Pfizer shots and all I had was some swelling at the injection site and a whole lot of lymphnode swelling (causing a little but of neck pain for a few hours) The first shot was a pain though, I was exhausted for the next 3 days. As far as I'm aware I never had covid
@@Ferniekicksbutt13 Think about your question. A vaccine is a weak version of ANY virus or bacteria. So the REAL version of said vaccine.. would give you real damages.
@@michaelsotomayor5001 sorta. It's the spike proteins or more specifically the mrna that creates them. The reaction to it can be just as strong but the effects are caused by your immune system not the virus. The main difference is that the vaccine doesn't bombard your immune system and turn your body into a mass grave of dead cells as you produce virus particles to spread to others.
@@jamisonw.327 My opinion - but what if it has to do with viral load.. if the virus or whatever reproduces quickly in your body it will create a cytokine storm reaction.. Also this virus doesn't kill you apparently.. it's the onset of pneumonia caused by the virus.. so maybe the vaccine will always be safe in this scenario UNLESS you don't even get sick from the real virus because of reasons. I mean in the end we have prevented many deaths.. only 10% of USA population got infected. But now imagine if at least 50% were infected. That's 2 million deaths.
Quick question! What's the difference in getting the vaccine vs. having had Covid. I know that the immunity from the illness only lasts a couple of months, so why does the vaccine work longer?
It was kind of answered in the video. After only one exposure, your immune system might not build up the long-term means to fight that pathogen. That's why you need the 2nd shot, to 'prove' to your immune system, that this is a lasting thread and it should build up long-term protection. That's also the reason, why one shot might be enough for someone already gone through the infection.
There was a study carried out in England that suggests there’s at least 6 months immunity after contracting the virus. The reason they determined 6 months is because the study was carried around 6 months into the pandemic so you will probably be immune for even longer if u get it
There are no studies to even check if the vaccine works for longer, it hasn't been around long enough. If covid vaccine behaves similar to flu vaccine, it won't provide a very long immunity due to mutations in the virus. Your body will be immune to last season's strain of the virus.
The vaccines give specific antigen targets for your immune system to "learn". With "wild" infections, it's tough to say which viral particles your immune system may be responding to, and not all those proteins may be equally effective.
@Alex Evans the testing is finished. Many vaccines have been approved all over the world. Don't you worry. Let the actual experts decide when it's finished testing.
Yeah, I was just commenting on the availability of vaccines to the general populace, not that we shouldn't be getting them. Sure, it is a new technology that might have some adverse effects in the long run we don't yet know about, but I trust it and will be getting it as soon as I can.
Got my second last Saturday. Got fever and chills that night and felt 'wiped out' all day Sunday. After that - I was fine. The good news is that I know that I'm going to be fully immune a week from next Saturday. If you feel sick from a shot - that's your body thinking that it just got attacked by the real virus and going on full alert and summoning all of your body's resources to ensure that the invader is dead, then very dead.
My first jab of the Moderna I had a sore arm for a couple of days. My second jab of the Moderna I felt like I had been run over by a truck. Well, maybe by a small child driving a go-cart. It was unpleasant, but not brutal. And I would do it again knowing what was coming.

Immunity doesn’t last forever or it may be partial. Even with those who have positive results of Covid, the CDC recommends they get vaccinated anyway. Better to be safe and get the vaccine.
@@FearsomeMedic nonlogical.Hypothetically if I've just recovered from covid and have immunity through immune response and along comes a vaccine a few months later what benefit will I get???.Being you've just stated immunity doesn't last ,I get what an extra few months on top.Antibodies or T cell response whether from active Infection or vaccine are the same.My body doesn't produce different antibodies according to whether a vaccine protein has been injected or live virus protein...think on it
You think about it. When people gain immunity, they may produce different antibodies that attach to different parts of the virus. Some may go for specific shell proteins or the genetic trackers packaged alongside viral genes. The spike protein was specifically chosen as it rarely mutates as a large mutation would change how pathogenic it would be, possibly making it less virulent. The vaccine would then give one a much better and longer lasting immune response than rolling the dice and hoping to produce antibodies that lasted through the next set of mutations the virus acquired.
Good to know. I got bad arm pain with my first dose but that's about it. Despite the side effects, looking forward to getting the second shot and being protected.

remember folks, the symptoms of illness, the aches, pains, fever, etc.

@@Crustee0 I can't say on a really large scale. The people I know who have gotten a first dose (n=6) have all had muscle ache at the injection site and only one had any other symptoms with the first dose (some lightheadedness and fatigue later in the day.)
The experience among my friends and coworkers who have gotten a second dose (n = 5) was that it hit us 12-14 hours after the shot and laid us out for at least 24 hours, except for one of my coworkers who did not have any side effects. Another of my coworkers took more like 48 hours to recover and was still fatigued for a couple of days afterward. The way I'd describe it is like having half the flu. Everyone in this group had nothing but arm muscle soreness after the first injection.

@Harley Rider 07 in the last video he described how the RNA was coated in lipids to deliver the RNA vaccine to cells, without this coating tho this free floating RNA got destroyed by immune cells or picked up by cancerous/tumor cells wich i find a little spooky. @Harley Rider 07 it's a respiratory virus....DERP......hows it feel to be a sheep? I'm 49 with compromised immune system and beat it
No chance of forming tumors.
My experience. The first shot I felt nothing, a little burning in the back of my throat maybe. But oh, boy that second shot! I felt that after a few minutes.
Did I forget to mention I'm talking about my time at a bar?
Was this at the Green Man pub in Wellington, New Zealand?
lol
Your neck is a muscle and sore muscles is one of the symptoms.
I received my first shot Saturday. My arm is still sore, but, I felt ill, had a fever
And a stiff neck and shoulders.

During the Test Phase with Moderna, that Second shot put me out for a solid day, Felt like I was dying. Then the very next day I felt normal again. Very weird experience.

Push fluids and I mean at least a gallon a day. Being overly hydrated makes the body work better and lowers the side effects experienced. Worked for me and everyone who tried it.
Not OVERLY HYDRATED but yeah hydrate yourself people
someone else mentioned that to me too...thanks for the reminder
I got both Pfizer shots and all I had was some swelling at the injection site and a whole lot of lymphnode swelling (causing a little but of neck pain for a few hours) The first shot was a pain though, I was exhausted for the next 3 days. As far as I'm aware I never had covid
That’s how I’m feeling now. I just got my second shot yesterday and I’m so tired and sore. All I want to do is lay down
Curious if you felt that real covid would have been MUCH stronger?
Only a couple of months of immunity with the trade off being a failing set of lungs and being paralyzed? To hell with that stupid idea.
Meanwhile most people still haven't gotten their first...
Because its new and i still wanna wait
@Alex Evans thank you someone who understands
@Alex Evans the testing is finished. Many vaccines have been approved all over the world. Don't you worry. Let the actual experts decide when it's finished testing.
Alex u may not understand the science behind vacinnes. I'm sure there are videos from scishow on this.
Yeah, I was just commenting on the availability of vaccines to the general populace, not that we shouldn't be getting them.
Sure, it is a new technology that might have some adverse effects in the long run we don't yet know about, but I trust it and will be getting it as soon as I can.
My first moderna shot just made the injection site sore. I didn’t really have anything else, now I’m kind of worried lol.

So why did he have a vaccine ?.he's had it hes had an immune response.what was he to gain from a vaccine think it through
Immunity doesn’t last forever or it may be partial.
