A little time saver I use when having to put the samples on the same choke group hit the select button then all this will change all of them to the desired choke group or voicing. Great work flow!!
Beat was dope. I was doubtful at first. “Man, the two bar loop is repetitive and weak” but by the end, the chords, the bassline, the drums… I was like damn! 🔥👏🏾
only thing i would add is when you are changing the voice settings for chopped samples to polyphony, can just hold select, select All. That will select all sounds in the group and then change the polyphony settings to 1. This will change all at one time. This may have been an update after this vid was made but s***, that was dope upgrade for sampling.
to be honest though, after I installed that serato sample plugin on maschine, I ain't turned back. I chop almost exclusively with Serato now. That beat is hot though.
10:40 new to Maschine, how did you set your manual slicer up? I'm trying to the do the exact same thing but it keeps going to other sounds. Can't figure it out on my Mikro MK3.
appreciate the video bro, i could tell ur a musician and not just a beat maker by the way u layed the keys and the bassline.....it was dope.....im gonna subscribe
Thanks for this full in-depth video. I don’t have a Machine yet, I just joined the NI Gang with a Komplete Kontrol and eventually will get one. First vid of yours I’ve watched… you have any Komplete Kontrol tutorials??
Yes so the process was backwards. I wanted the Sample a little faster but I made the chops first which I should have gotten the sample to the speed I wanted first. So instead of speeding up each individual chop, I sped up the entire sample. Then I had to go back a rechop the sample.
You should seriously consider making this a thing. I was surprised at how spot on it was to guys like Bink!, Just Blaze, Araabmuzik, etc... with the sample selection, added instrumentation and that live percussion feel. Great vid.
Still trying to figure out how to do the Auto Slice part that you did @10:30. I got the rest down but I’ve been watching the vid over and over you have helped a lot with my understanding so far. 🙏 I just purchased the Mikro MK3 to start off in my journey.
Thank you for the content. I am a total newbie and I am wanting to get into lofi/boom bap style of hip hop production, merely as a hobby. I have been a follower of hip hop since the early 80's. I am not a musician, so I will be 100% sample based. I am on the fence between the MPC One or the Maschine MK3. Can you guide me in the right direction or provide any advice? Thank you again for all the content. I appreciate it. Blessings!
What up fam!!! So I love Maschine and I’m a little bias. I never used an MPC but Maschine is easy to learn. I love the sampling algorithm with Maschine. It’s a groove Maschine which allows you to create quick ideas. Prices are reasonable as well. I would watch videos on both before making your decision.
@@davidscott2095 what did you choose? If you haven’t yet Maschine is easy with a quick learning curve while the mpc will warp your brain at first but is very powerful. I have an older mpc1000 took a couple days for me to get it but I also been around the block with music so my understanding of how daws and other things work helped me tremendously but the mpc program is so difficult to use and I believe that’s how the new mpcs are it can be very quirky when learning. Maschine is set up to learn while MPC is more for people who already are advance.
Little tip for adjusting the speed and tone to what you want… just use the tune knob to find the right change of speed for the bpm, then you can go into stretch and change the pitch in the opposite direction to that you changed for the tempo, and then you end up with the same pitch but adjusted tempo. Much easier than guessing the % change or calculating it
I was waiting for a break down or use of the other 4 chops/samples from the 8. Fire beat. I'm almost there my biggest issue is how to make it loop perfectly 😮💨
Hope you got it down by now. But if not tempo is your friend. So if it’s not looping right play out what you want and if it end early it’s too fast and vice versa to late to slow. Say you got a two bar sample you want to put it in the piano roll and make the length 2 bars play with tempo till just right and that’s your sample tempo. And you can do the same thing if your playing it out and it doesn’t loop right.
Greetings, First time watching your video, but it was amazing! Especially since you are using the studio. That makes the work flow different than other videos that use the mini. Thanks again and you earned a sub. Looking for the part 2
Honestly depends on what you’re looking for. I would go with the MK3. It’s portable, USB powered. It also has a built in audio interface. The studio is great but it need a DC Adapter and is more stationary in the studio. The mikro is nice but the little screens are terrible and makes you use the computer more.
@@NoiseyNeighborz I need a good equipment to give as a gift to a beginner producer. Something he would use more often. Apart from these two, what again can you recommend ?
Considering I’ve never used the push, both can get the job done but the push works excellent with Ableton Live but Maschine is great with everything!!! I’ll pick the Maschine from experience.
I only used iTunes to convert the MP3 file to WAV. Maschine only excepts WAV files at 16 Bit or higher to import. You can use an online audio converter to do the same.
I still wanna know an easy way to mute all groups at once for dropouts etc (not just individual groups or just deleting notes.. cos that will still leave fx tails audible etc)...I just want the entire track silenced at any point I want.. Know what I mean? Can't seem to find a method I can get my head around anywhere lol Any ideas?
@@NoiseyNeighborz Kinda found a solution, seeing as you can't automate the master channel - by routing all groups through another dedicated group, and automate a track using filter or whatever, which will then after affect everything at once. Bit fiddly but it works (to an extent)
That’s what I do as well. I thought you where specific to mutes and breaks. You can do much more on the group channels. It has FX that can be automated. ua-cam.com/video/j8fmrr4sveI/v-deo.html

You missed the point - in order to put a song/sample inside maschine , it has to be a wav. You can't use mp3's. We're all aware converting to wav doesn't improve the sound quality
@@Dru_Won This is the Point of my Statement! Sampling from UA-cam or WMV videofiles like in your Video, is like Converting a MP3 to a Wavfile! Because the frequency degradation stays the same, it is MP3 like. The Compression fucks it all up!!
@@jeffmcbeff6084 The only reason for converting to wav is that's the only type of file maschine recognizes . nothing wrong w using mp3 quality audio for sampling . Especially if it's vinyl , and a record that would be impossible to have access to otherwise . It may have used to be a "rule" to not use UA-cam years ago , but the audio quality has made huge improvements . Also UA-cam Music service is 256 aac which is equivalent to 320 kbp. Yes and no. Your chops could fall in the tempo you set but it all depend on if you chopped pieces of a song to create or chopped a loop of a song.
