@@richemery1639 I'm hoping this is just the case of the seemingly common problem with the clutch regulator/damper. If not, it'll be a clutch replacement but I'm a tight git and hoping for a cheap fix 😀
Hey Gav. I spoke to my uncle, he's had a couple of kias and he agrees with your friend John about getting a new damper. I know that you'll be hoping for a cheap fix though. Looking forward to see how you get on 🙂
Hi gav was hoping that the shim might have solved the problem ..was surprised by the amount of wear there is in that rod end.. sadly not the case.. have seen posts with other cars in the kia range where just fitting a sump plug bolt has sorted it and looking at the probable price of a kia part V a sump plug it might be worth trying a sump plug first before biting the bullet £££££££.. what ever you decide good luck with it.. 🙂
Phil, it definitely made a difference, couldn't engage the gears, at all, before putting the shim in place. Will try to source an M16 x 1.5 bolt tomorrow and I'll possibly also order a Clutch Regulator from AliExpress to fit at a later date, if the sump plug/bolt restores full clutch disconnection function.
Is your clutch 'bite' very low down on this venga? I recently bought one and it starts litterally as you start bringing it up and is fully deployed a few CM later.........I have the same play on the master cylinder rod/clutch pedal and read so many different websites about fixing the common problem its ridiculous......
@kernowrose it's funny because my Ceed basically has the same setup but on 197,000 miles with no sign of any play in the pedal, a smooth as silk gear change and a normal clutch bite height.
I had the same issue with my kia ceed. I had to have a new clutch fitted and all the problems were solved.

@kernowrose yes that's the basic symptom
