- In this video i show you my macbook air late 2010 which runs macos Big Sur !
This macbook air late 2010 has an intel core 2 duo 1.86 Ghz processor with just 2 gb ram.
It is a slow spec laptop but how good or bad does it run macos Big Sur?
The installation of an unsupported version of macos on this laptop is possible thanks to Open Core Legacy Patcher and the great job that people behind this project do!
It is truly worth it to install open core legacy patcher and any new macos on an old unsupported mac device.
If you want to install Open Core Legacy Patcher on your unsupported mac you will find the instructions on how to do so here dortania.githu...
And of course before you start make sure you have backup of your data just in case something goes wrong !
If you have any questions drop them in the comments and i will try to help you out as much as i can!
Thanks for watching and don’t forget to drop a like and subscribe to this channel !!!
hello there, just wanted to ask you on how you get your wifi working?
After I installed macos big Sur I opened open Core Legacy patcher and I ran post installation patches that fixes the WiFi . Generally speaking after you install big Sur or any newer OS on unsupported Mac you should run post installation patches through open Core Legacy patcher
@@sdyt263 I already ran the post installation patches but there’s no wifi patches, only for nvidia tesla and keyboard
@@sdyt263 which opencore version did you use?
When I made this video the version of open Core was 1.5 . As of right now the latest version is 2.0.2.
Does your mac show any available WiFi networks? And what Mac are you using ?
@@sdyt263 the same mac model as you, sir…
hoped that you can help me
Amazing video bro, thank u. So do u think it will works good with 4gb of ram? Like, pretty faster than this?
@gabrielk1079 thank you for your feedback!
Definitely will run better with 4gb ram compared to 2 gb ram !
By the way please subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already!
Thank you !!
@@sdyt263 just subscribed rn. I downloaded high sierra and already noticed such a big slow, so now I’m afraid of put Big Sur. Do u really think it will works good?
@gabrielk1079 have you installed open core legacy patcher ? If yes you need to install post installation root patches otherwise the system will be painfully slow!
Thanks for the sub by the way 😊
@@sdyt263 I installed high sierra in official ways actually but a lot of apps and websites don’t support it anymore so I’m really thinking of change it to big sur 😬
mine 2011 has 4 gb ram on win 10, WORKS FINE
That's good to hear!!!
I need help, I can’t open web pages and I have the exact Mac as you and I can’t open web pages how do I do this ?
Download opera browser . When I started the process safari wasn't able to show the resources on GitHub so I downloaded opera browser and then did the process
I just wanna ask If you download macos Big Sur is bluetooth and usb ports gonna work ? Please answer!
And is the legacy patcher safe ?
Yes Bluetooth usb ports and WiFi work
And open core legacy patcher is 100% safe . The Devs have done an amazing job !
I wish my MBA had more than 2gb ram
Try mackbook air 2017 review please
I don't have one unfortunately 😔
Macbook A1342 Core 2 Duo
8 gb ram
Big sur replace High Sierra with open core
Very slow start up
Lightroom works with lags, will it improve with 16 GB ram?
Do you have SSD on it ?
Yes upgrading the ram will improve performance
@@sdyt263 yes, 240 gb ssd
@emilianoluis80 great !
Upgrading the ram will improve performance
Can i try on macbook late 2008 with 2.0 ghz and 4gb ram and 256 gb ssd
Try it yes . can you upgrade your ram higher than 4 GB ? Just so you'll better experience.
Backup your data as well
It could only runs on Mojave Patcher since it allows 2GB on max. running ram and latest APFS files..👍👍👍
I have macbook air 2010
