I love Sante Fe. I have a cousin that lives there and I have visited a couple of times in the last 8 years or so. Maybe it's time for another trip out that way. I enjoyed the downtown art district and the many old beautiful buildings around the city.

What impressed me the most about the origami art studio was that I t was off grid. You said the heat and ac were off-line too but as a welder, that blew me away because trust me, aluminum welding requires SUBSTANTIALLY more power than even the air conditioning. I didn't think it was possible to run welding on an industrial scale like that off of solar.

My parents used to live in New Mexico and I’ve been on that Turquoise Trail a few times. It’s really underrated and it’s a very nice area to visit. One fall I came across the largest tarantula I have ever seen on the side of that highway.

Hi Russ, a little technique I learned about gas/diesel dispensers. As you remove the dispenser, you will always get those leaks of fuel. All you need to do is rotate it slightly as you remove it so the nozzle isn't pointing down. Et voila, no more leaks. Works all the time ... wish I'd known about the technique years ago.

Thoroughly enjoy this video...sure has changed...I went through the turquoise trail enroute to Taos in 1978...when I stopped in Los Cerrillos I thought I slipped back in time waiting for someone to challenge me to a gunfight. The entire trail is a national treasure...matter a fact they filmed several Westerns in and around Cerrillos...Young Guns to name a few

Hey, Russ. We did a similar trip a couple of years ago. We stayed at the Grants KOA, had a nice dinner delivered to our RV, saw the Ice Caves and Volcano too. We rode the tram up the Sandia Mountain. Went to Santa Fe, stayed in a KOA near there. Also rode up to Taos on the enchanted highway. The Vietnam Memorial was a nice stop plus Red River. Saw Kit Carsons grave site too. Enjoy!

Well, I'm not going far this year (I got cataracts that may be removed any day now), so consider you are "my eyes" exploring the West. Madrid, N.M. looks like a few towns I visited over the years (notably Onyx on Rte 178 or Coarsegold on Rte 41, California and numerous communities on Rte 54 in N.M. between Santa Rosa and Alamogordo) and it reveals "real small-town America". Thanks for these images that fill our souls. RICHARD

Really enjoyed the art museums, not sure they were there last time I visited . I was excited when I saw that you were doing the turquoise trail but you missed the best part- outside of Albuquerque are the Sandia Mountains and tram and a very cool RV park where we stayed called the Turquoise Trail RV park, small park run by really nice people. Very scenic drive from there also. I know you’ve already done this whole drive but I hope you got to stop in Chimayo on your way to Taos. They have a great restaurant there. BTW 2 ll’s in Spanish is pronounced as a y, e.g. Ceriyos. Love your videos!

I wondered if someone would mention this building. This actually was a prop that was built to be used and shot in the movie. Once the movie was filmed the locals wanted the building torn down because they didn’t want the building to attract movie goers to come to town to see the building. The people that bought it were Europeans that had just moved to town. When the locals couldn’t get the building torn down then they fought that the building no be allowed to have water plumbed to the building that way it could never be used as a diner like it resembled In The movie Wild Hogs. The locals didn’t want anyone to prosper from the movie.
