    Who are we?
    We are a European couple from Germany (Alex) and the Netherlands (Mandy), sailing around the Med on our 36ft sailboat. Six months ago we started our journey in Greece with little sailing experience, figuring things out as we go, not really knowing what we're doing. Our goal is to circumnavigate the world via the wind, always being surrounded by the ocean. Sailboat life is super different from land life and can be pretty rough at times. see the little things is the documentary of our endeavour of simplifying life, decelerating pace, and practicing mindfulness. Follow our adventures when you are curious to see how we mess up and fix it up again! We are currently still sailing Greece, but will head over to Italy and beyond soon.

    This boat is a marvel, a guarantee of reliability and safety, expensive but money well spent. I would choose a light wood and gray leather layout for the sofas and armchairs with an exterior line of the same color, dark gray ...

    Certainly a 'nice' boat as in a penthouse would be 'nice too. I agree with you guys comment re preference for a secondhand boat. For me your 'Bluejuice' ticks all the boxes re livability and lifestyle choice for the maximum sailing experience and isn't sailing what it is all about? Appreciate taking us along to the boat show.

    The first boat is cheaper than cars!!! Also cheaper than RV, which is what I want. Can't sail, I can't fix stuff. Thanks for taking me along😍

      @Dawn, ah we didn't know how to sail or fix things either. To be honest we sort of figured out how to sail (when weather is not too crazy..) but the fixing part is quite difficult! thank god for youtube, we learn EVERYTHING there. Plus people you meet are always super helpful! So if you want it, you can learn! :)

    Wow! Half a million dollars will get you a nice boat! I've always thought the hard windshields on the HR's look really sharp. The retracting thrusters are cool - we looked into a bow thruster for our 361, but there are too many other uses for the $8k it was going to cost. Do you like the teak decks? I understand they are popular in the Northern areas, but down here in the SW Florida, they would seem to be too hot. Nice job showing the boat!

    • @seethelittlethings
      @seethelittlethings  4 роки тому

      thanks :) oh we're so happy we don't have teak decks. In some anchorages we saw people bucketing them with sea water only to be able to walk on deck in the summer

    This lounge chairs in the 40c would probably be a great place for a nap when you’re on a port tack lol especially if you have a good heel. Lol woulds first automatic rocker recliner lol
    You know, I just watch Yachting world walk through of the 40c before yours. You did so much better.

    It's nice but seems a bit small for a 40' center cockpit. Dont know if it is the camera but a Beneteau or Bavaria 40cc looks bigger inside.

    • @seethelittlethings
      @seethelittlethings  4 роки тому +2

      I understand what you mean, it might have been the camera a little bit, although it was a wide angle action cam. But the HR is not build to be a charter boat. So it has way more storage space and lockers everywhere and more components that are made to create comfort, like the lounge chairs. I think that is what might make it feel less spacious.

    Humm interesting.Constructively saying...... So all the rigging is Selden, all the hatches and winches are Lewmar, its now a fin keel with a sail drive and the prop does not vetor the thrust over the prop it has twin rudders not skeg hung, all the joinery is CNC . Looks like Halberg as selling a similar boat to so many for a lot more money? You can buy a lot more boat for the the cost. We wonder what the appeal would be? Great video guys with loads of info. Thanks for sharing. Ant & Cid xx

      @sv Impavidus, that's the thing with buying new I guess, buying second hand you could get a crazy equipped boat for that money! But when you walk around on the Boot fair in Düsseldorf, there's a lot of people that have so much money, it really doesn't matter to them :D. I guess the appeal is that when you buy new you can really decide how everything looks, as to buying second hand you can't. Also, the quality and feel of the HR is very very good compared to the production boats of course (benneteau, jeanneau etc.). But if I'd have that kind of money, I'd still go get me a second hand boat!

    I know they are much more expensive but for me it would be an Amel 50 as they are much more contained in the cockpit and a better designed boat.
    The Hallberg-Rassy is a fine boat indeed but would definitely be my 2nd choice

    All I can see are systems and extra things (dishwasher, washing machine, etc.) that will fail at some point and require time and more $ to fix. This boat is best left tied to a dock somewhere. If you feel you need all of these conveniences, just stay on land. Part of the point of untying the lines is to simplify and experience the planet more directly.

    • @hailMaxximus
      @hailMaxximus 4 роки тому +3

      @André It's not about being poor. It's about how people experience the world and how insulated one must be from "inconvenience." Getting out into the greater world... a more natural world... can only truly be experienced once you let go of all of the manufactured "need" of modern life. Also, at some point with a boat like this with this many added on and superfluous systems it is about time--which no matter how wealthy you are--you cannot get back. Because when they fail or need maintenance, you will be stuck at some dock or boatyard somewhere. It is highly unlikely those retractable thrusters, for example, will not require attention and cause many headaches sooner rather than later. The simpler the boat with the minimum of systems necessary for safety the more enjoyable the actual boating experience will be. Boats like this and other luxury items are not owned... they soon own YOU. ;)

    • @alexjohnson3455
      @alexjohnson3455 4 роки тому

      fantastic comment could not agree more. The comment previous about not everyone being poor was a cheap shot from someone who's probably only seen boats on youtube and is land locked at at all sides

    • @hailMaxximus
      @hailMaxximus 4 роки тому

      @André It's humorous that a) you assume because someone is not falling over themselves for a half-million dollar boat they are "poor," and b) the only reason they do not want such a marina queen is they are "poor," and c) that they are also jealous because they cannot have said boat because they are, as stated, "poor." hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
