Love BC. My freshman year in HS ( early 60s ) our school ran a trip to West Point to see BC play Army. I asked our teacher how we could get tickets and he said BC did not draw the big crowds. Unfortunately that has been the story for over 50 years. Let’s hope it finally changes
There are at least 3 players from Boston College getting drafted in the first four rounds. Definitely something that should be promoted and marketing, especially when offensive and defensive linemen are the cornerstone to a successful season. You can literally have Tom Brady in his prime and put him on a team with a bad offensive line and he would significantly underperform. Great offensive lines conversely can make an average quarterback and an average running back into a superstar. You can’t do it the opposite way, a bad offensive lines conversely will always make the team look worse. Offensive line and defensive line recruiting should always be top priority. Skill players can be coached up.
It’s important that BC has that offensive line that picks people up and puts them down, that was the biggest key to success during the Tom O’Brien years. That and coaching stability helped with Dana Bible as his right hand man. Once BC started going after the smaller faster offensive lineman they lost that niche. I believe Bill O’Brien will bring it back.
Look at the Tom O’Brien years, average to slightly above average quarterbacks like Tim Hasselbeck and Brian St. Pierre over achieved because they had studs like Dan Koppen and Damien Woody blocking for them.
If you have HULU, you should be able to find the game from there, assuming you have the Live TV subscription of course. That’s how I accessed the BC games when I was down in Mississippi for a month for work.
In the early to mid 80’s BC played at Sullivan Stadium to big crowds, majority BC fans. I saw them play Alabama and Penn State there. Exciting games. The Alabama game in 83 had a blackout due to an ice storm. Don’t be so short sighted and look beyond the BC history that you know.
A) that was 40+ years ago and what 8 know is that BC is that was all due to Flutie and b) Alumni overselling now BC can barely sell out alumni and don’t have the push for tickets like they had bad back then, and C) Penn State very much has that push, and this would make a home game a defacto away game
To Steve Addazio’s defense, they should’ve had 8 wins in 2018 but their bowl was canceled due to the weather. I wonder how different that outcome changes his future…
At least Boston College is continuing the tradition of constantly putting great offensive linemen into the NFL.
I think the team will be just fine.

Should also be available on the ESPN app

I have UA-camTV and I think I have MeTv? Isn’t that the channel that plays old Kojak and Rockford Files reruns?

We have paid football players and they should be required to fulfill their contracts.😮
