Very interesting. We live in a great time to buy guitars.. When I started (I'm 61) you had Gibson and Fender basically and all others were cheap imports that were horrible usually, and even some of the expensive Fender and Gibson guitars didn't have much competition so they weren't that great either. Now, because of CNC and competition companies are making great products and it shows.. Great video sir. Thanks.. Tim
I have an AZES. Threw a couple of Andy Timmons Dimarzio pickups, locking tuners (not even necessary), and it's sounds and plays like a pro guitar, hands down
The AZES sounds great for the money! Dunno about build quality & playability though. But i think with some upgrade this could be a fine budget choice for gigs 👍
I didn't pay close attention to the thumbnail pic. I watched the video and assumed the white one was the expensive one. It sounded better to my ears. More clear and less muddy.
AZES uses cheap ceramic pickups, a 6-screw tremolo bridge, standard nickel frets, standard tuners and plastic nut, while the AZ has alnico Seymour Duncans, 2-point Gotoh bridge, Gotoh locking tuners and stainless steel frets and bone nut. The AZES sounds brighter and the AZ sounds warmer due to the different material for the magnet in the pickups, that being said you could get the sound of the 2k guitar just by getting the same pickups into the 300 bucks one.
Another option would be the EART DMX-9. Same switching as the AZ(ES), and comes with most of the features of the high-end AZ (stainless steel frets, roasted maple neck with compound radius, 2-point tremolo, AlNiCo pickups etc.), for $600. Just without the big name and made in China. I never played one but it looks really nice and seems to be a sick value!
@@VeitLehmann Those EART offer insane value, the problem is their availability. Another cool super strat in the "budget" pricing is the Cort G300 for about 600~700.
I love my azes40mgr. It's better than I thought it'd be. I was expecting it to be good but I didn't expect it to stay in tune, feel so great and comfortable, and look so good. It really does feel like a $1000 guitar and sounds atleast as good as a $600-800 guitar. The versatility to the guitar is unmatched for the price as well! My only complaints is the tremelo makes the guitar go out of tune fast, and while it can definitely play metal, it's not the best option for metal.
I own an AZ Prestige. Bought the same AZES one as a practise guitar at home. Really amazed by it🙏 Didn't have any tuning issues and intonation really good. Worth the money, i just want to change the pickguard 😅
Clearly whatever you play will turn out well... your talent shows... It's also obvious that the expensive guitar is more defined... However, for the value, the AZes is not far behind... Sound like the face is too much money for me, and the sound of the Azes makes me happy!!! It's not bad at all... Greetings and never stop playing... Even when you're a grandfather and have arthritis or Parkinson's, keep playing, maybe in another style... But don't stop, you do it very well
Clean sounds cheap on AZES,too bright and thin, but sounds pretty good god on Mid gain high gain,it’s a very good practice guitar for intermediate and advance players who want to protect them high end guitar fret during practicing, nice video Master Luca,Greeting from Greece
Azes40 designed with help of tomo fujita (guitar teacher of john mayer) is a cheaper copy of the john mayer prs se silver sky . Both have the same poplar wood body.
Wow! The AZES just sounds a bit different, not necessarily worse most of the time. Only sometimes a little bit harsh. Which could be solved by a simple pickup swap. A $100 HSS set, e. g. by Tonerider, might do the trick already.
nowadays budget guitars are just great build quality 20 years ago was really horrible today they build pretty well, even pickups pretty good. the only weak point is tuners and tremolo so we live in a great world where you do not need to robber bank to buy a nice guitar
Guys, what about the neck? I wanted to buy prestige one but now because of your opinions about pickups, that they are dark i guess ill go for azes. Does it have thin neck like prestige?
Cordialement.
I’ll be honest, the guitarist adds the most value to a guitar. They both sound like a million dollars when you play them!
indeed
This is the secret

Wow I honestly liked the brighter tone of the AZES the best but the brighter tone is what I think when thinking Strats but both sound and look amazing

WOOOOOW!!! the Ibanez AZES have a great sound for the cost i think!!!

I do little mod and setting it's good ua-cam.com/video/Nmn5XgwliWY/v-deo.html
i think its a pretty solid guitar, my only complain is the plastic input jack, like why ibanez...
For $99.00, you can drop in a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge of the AZES and still have pretty close to what the Prestige model in tone.
pretty much the same I'd say
The AZES40 seems just a little more "brittle", and less full sounding. For the money it sounds great. Excellent comparison!
This is the best editing I've seen in a comparison video. Thank you, sir.
Great demonstration... we can see clearency different tone between both
It is shocking how much better the AZES sounds here. So much brighter and more Strat-like.
the hyperion pickups are just ridiculously dark lmao
made me spit out my drink when i heard them side by side with other single coils
i agree lmao
On some of the clean positions yeah but it gets a bit muddy with gain
I like the chog sound of the AZ pristige,. The AZES still has a very good sound and a budget friendly guitar. I hope to get one soon of the AZES
I didn't pay close attention to the thumbnail pic. I watched the video and assumed the white one was the expensive one. It sounded better to my ears. More clear and less muddy.
Thanks to your video, I decided to buy AZES!
Wicked. Thanks for the comparison, Luca!
I've just bought the AZES40MGR. Waiting delivery.
Nice comparison, just what I was lookink for. Prefer the tones of AZES40.

Omg I thought the es40 was the expensive one. It sounds better in my opinion
yeah lmao the hyperions in the prestige are dark as hell
i guess it's a sound?
way too dark for a strat sound tho lmfao
Why pay 2000 extra for sound that normal ear can’t even detect? Close your eyes and listen. Very very little difference I hear. Lovely video Luca!
There’s probably a considerable difference in feel and stability is assume
build quality i guess
u pay 2000 extra to grow old with it

Hi. If i dont play metal, just pop. Then light tremolo use, will it go out of tune easily too?

Hey man I am an intermediate guitarist and was planning to but this as main. What upgrades do u suggest and how is the build and playability ?
@@shashwatsharma6212 You may swap the pickup and add locking tuners. I didn't have any annoying issue with this azes so far.
Which one has a better neck for soloing?
Hey, thanks for the info. Are the neck profiles similar?
@@diegogc11 no but it's still comfy to play.. Really comfortable
overdrive made it clear to hear.
There's an obvious difference on the clean tones, but the crunch and lead with distortion sound surprisingly similar!
No, the crunch sounds are very different to.
oh God, azes sounds clearer, more open! I think in the mix it will definitely stand out better
Best demo of the AZes40 I've seen yet. Thanks much. Does the guitar go out of tune easily when using the sway bar?
Looking forward for another comparison. For both in drive sound azes has less sound body and less warm but still lovely
Hey, Luca, great video...what about the neck feeling? Are they close in terms of comfort and shape ? Thanks, master !
Thats the thing..sound great..but neck
...what a awful feel.
For $2,000.00 less, the AZES is a real steal of a deal. Even after a few mods.

Luka,Hi from Russia! Thanx for video!!! What about the neck? Are they similar in a shape and how they feel like???
quite noticable difference in tone.....how's the feel of the neck and overall playability between the 2?
1. AZES has pickups of slightly less output for maybe neck and middle.
2. Prestige has compressed tone whiles AZES has more open sounding.
Clean sounds cheap on AZES,too bright and thin, but sounds pretty good god on Mid gain high gain,it’s a very good practice guitar for intermediate and advance players who want to protect them high end guitar fret during practicing, nice video Master Luca,Greeting from Greece
the last overdrive sound sounds almost the same, but for clean and others it's very much different in my opinion.
how does AZES compares with Ibanez GRX40?
day / night
Azes40 designed with help of tomo fujita (guitar teacher of john mayer) is a cheaper copy of the john mayer prs se silver sky . Both have the same poplar wood body.
What strings are those?
Fantastic playing.
Great work! Subscribed. Best Regards!

I hope Ibanez make AZ Es to pro version with alder body, baked neck, better pickups and still smaller body and 25 scale neck
Guys, what about the neck? I wanted to buy prestige one but now because of your opinions about pickups, that they are dark i guess ill go for azes. Does it have thin neck like prestige?
Dude that AZES sounds UNREAL for $300, they should make a T model in this price range as well
Hi. Azes 40 or 31? How to choose? Will the tremolo cause out of tune if just play tremolo lightly
Anyone know if you can float the Trem on this guitar?
I prefer the AZES40. The other one sounds like it has a blanket over it.
Do they have the same fretboard radius?
I am a beginner player and i plan to buy AZES40 , i need easy bending and comfortable neck, do you reccomend me to buy that, ty for answers
The AZES pickups are a little hotter and brighter than the AZ, which sounds a little warmer ocasionally
Do they have the same size pickguard?
How different do the necks feel?
Wow i thought the AZES sounded more strat like, probably due to the brightness.
Both sound great what amp / fx are you using ?
as for me i will go for AZES 40
Are you getting the new sea foam prestige?
Just dial the amp or change pickups . Job done

AZES Just down a notch in presence and treble and sound almost the same.
The sound difference comes down to preference.
What about the size? The AZES looks smaller than AZ
Azes has 25"
@@hide1986 yeah. Like PRS. And the body. Is smaller too?
The Azes needs some better pickups it doesnt pickup as much low end on the crunch tone

AZES has that better quack sound
If you would record a song with it literallty no one can tell.
Preciso preciso il giro dei limp Bizkit
The AZ looks better.
AZ nice 👍
Less expensive sound's louder.........hummmmm?......lefuj
The AZES seems easier to bend.
Cause the shortest scale
( too many trebles on both setting anyway )
in effetti entrambe non mi piacciono...
To many tone comparisons, it speaks nothing to qualify, playability and feel.
It was a sound comparison video.
@@radio5051no sh!t Sherlock. That wasn’t my point.
