It may be a small point, but the new Buick logo is FIRE!! Aggressive, ultra modern, and VERY upscale all at the same time. What a a fresh approach! IMO one of Buick’s biggest marketing issues was the “old guy” brand logo. Even though it was previously updated, it still looked like the original that’s been around forever. The new logo makes me forget that Buick made softly sprung, chrome-laden luxo-boats of yore. Very well done!!
Glad Drew remembered where the brake pedal was and didn't run his brother over in the taillight segment! I appreciate that you now have a website --I'll be checking it out. Thank you, and Happy 4th!
We have a 2024 GX AWD Avenir so far so good. A few negatives, 1. A manual is unavailable and GM does not know when or if one will be available. This makes figuring out some controls a challenge. Dealer was not able to order one. 2. No lane keeping. There is lane tracking but it does not keep the vehicle in lane. At this level it should be included. 3. When back seats are folded down there is limited rearward front seat travel. 4. No aerial view is available on our Avenir. 5. Would be nice to have a power steering wheel adjustment at this price level. Positives. 1. Nice ride and handling. 2. Engine power is fine for our needs. 3. Forward parking camera is nice. 4. Fit and finish seems fine. 5. Sun roof is a good feature. 6. Our Avenir has a rear camera in addition to a backup camera and that gives a much wider rearward view when driving compared to the standard rear view mirror.
I honestly don't understand what GM is doing with these 3 cylinder engines. They're neither fast nor particularly fuel efficient so what exactly are they hoping to achieve here?
Keeping the parts and products universal to save cost and production costs, most GM products overseas use nothing but 3 or 4 cylinder gasoline/petrol/ diesel engines also.
GM is doing exactly what it should. The majority of American drivers don't need powerful engines. What GM offers could be refined overtime, but what they are doing is consistent with consumer marketing research.
I like it. It’s VERY similar in design to the Envista, but I like that vehicle’s proportions (and front end) better. Ultimately, I’d prefer THIS vehicle’s options (155 HP engine/AWD/9-speed automatic transmission, pano sunroof) on the ENVISTA. But that’s not available. Also, the infotainment screen/gauge cluster… Cool as it looks, there seems to be a lot of dead space between them. I feel like both elements could use more of that space. But otherwise, this is a really impressive showing by Buick. Beautiful interior.
Plan to buy Buick Encore GX this Christmas or Birthday .. Hope they will give a huge clearance sale... Beautiful Buick.. My late father owned 4 Buicks. Great job.. Thank you for share..
Don't forget. These 3 cyl engines much like the ford 1.0 that i owned, come with a timing belt and oil pump belt. Ford initially stated it was a lifetime belt as it was submerged in oil but they quietly changed the intervals to 150k, then 90k. I couldn't take it to a normal shop and ford wanted 2 to 3 times for the average timing belt change. Special tools were required and the motor had to be pulled. I sold the car at 100k and the oil pump belt broke about 6 months later requring a new motor. GM seems to have headed down this path as well so i suggest an extended warranty for a long term ownership or be prepared to pay the cost for this.
Handsome small vehicle. Nice lines. Nice looking gauge cluster and info screen all-in-one. Really clear rear camera. Good looking interior and storage space in the rear. The spare tire is a plus. Overall, a good buy for about $35,000.
It's cute. But, the engine noise under acceleration and road noise (maybe from the tires) wouldn't be something I would want to live with. And, the MPG seems low especially considering it's a 3 cylinder whereas lots of 2 liter 4's get into the 30's or more. Just doesn't seem like it is Buick quality overall. And, at that price, you are getting into CX5 and Lexus UX cost.
GM always throws a rotten egg in what would otherwise be a good car - the 3 cylinder engine. There's a reason cars rarely came/come w/ a 3 banger: They get strained for the weight they pull. Take one up a slight grade or try passing on the highway. Drive with the a/c on and performance is challenged even more. Interior looks great. Exterior is good. Conventional automatic is good. But that 3 banger makes this car a pass.
i agree Gm almost got it right,,,,,Gm throws in 2 hampster to pull the engine , this does not belong on the highway/parkway...anything that needs to pass hard lol...why does everyone call a hampster burner , sport, gx, rally sport etc..lol there is no sport
The geo metros back in the day had 3 cylinders and u had to get out to push them up a hill it's ridiculous how carmakers are doing these days with a motors and transmissions
Folks need to open their minds about 3 cylinder engines. They are now standard in other vehicles, including Toyota (GR Corolla - a sports car!), Ford and Nissan and many other brands including BMW in Europe. A family member has a 3 cylinder Nissan Rogue and it feels very peppy at just the right RPM range to make the power seem more than adequate.
27MPG AWD. How boring. I might as well get a small pickup truck. GM not selling a hybrid at the same price as others is getting so far behind it's crazy.
Engine sounds like it’s struggling just parked. Pass! Torque? I really think your review is soft on this vehicle. Think of safety. The acceleration shown would not be enough to pass double trailer semis. I’d appreciate that sort of test from all reviewers.
It's really not THAT slow and is faster than a number of rivals in this segment. The Honda HR-V, for example, has a larger displacement engine but would get smoked by this
Nice suv but issues I have with this car cloth seats on the base model no standard power seats no standard automatic climatic control and and the engine it’s nice just have some issues
That square screen where the gauge cluster is looks awful. There is no point to the long horizontal piece on the dash if the screens are so obviously separated and not integrated into that piece. Kia does this much much better.
The Motors are way to small in newer cars the power is horrible the motors dont last long cuz its turbo and u have to kick it in the butt or get out to push it up a steep hill. The cvts transmissions are horribe stick with a manual or a real automatic just saying Other wise love all your videos..
This looks hideous compared to the previous 2012-2022 Buick Encore. Why did GM make it bigger? The Encore is SUPPOSED to be a sub-compact SUV. Buick has other models if a customer wants a larger SUV. GM should have kept the Encore small(.
Buick is a brand in crisis. They have no real place in the American market anymore. There is nothing premium about this or anything else they sell vs the competition. I mean a 3-cylinder engine with 155hp. What is premium about less power than an economy car? I don't understand why anyone would or who buys this.
It's not that bad. Still reeks of GM cheapness, and it's so bland and lacks any personality. But, if you need a cheap crossover, don't care about a car and use it as purely an appliance, than this isn't half bad. The layout is not terribly confusing, and I like that they added a normal gear shifter and didn't add those moronic button gear shifters
Stop calling these SUVs or CUVs, they are merely hatchbacks. Also there’s NO reason for a 3 cylinder because you get horrible hp & there not fuel efficient at all 🙄
It may be a small point, but the new Buick logo is FIRE!!

Thank you!! Im shopping for my first new car in 12 yrs and i wasnt aure if I wanted to buy this one or not.
I honestly don't understand what GM is doing with these 3 cylinder engines. They're neither fast nor particularly fuel efficient so what exactly are they hoping to achieve here?
GM is hoping to achieve cheapness.
Agreed. Give it power or give it great fuel efficiency.
Profit margins
It’s looks great!
This is a great SUV for hitting the roads. Thanks for this video, and great job Buick! You guys do such awesome work in your cars!

This is the sister to the chevy trailblazer...
What a beautiful vehicle! Your reviews get better and better. Adding the 'we are brothers' with pics is awesome and unique.🇺🇸😁
Thank you!

Thanks you too! 🇺🇸
Fantastic review and happy 4th of July! My only real complaint is the lack of rear vents.😸
Happy 4th of July!

You guys are great. Love this review. One question, are "halogen tail lights" really a thing?
The design is absolutely gorgeous. GM’s thinking keeps getting better every moment.
Excellent review & pov.
Hopefully you will review a Preferred trim level Fwd 1.2 engine. Thanks😅
Love the design, not sure about the powertrain, look somewhere else for the price point.
Now my SUV to buy!

Test drive a Hearse. Lincoln vs. Cadillac.

Great review Drew and Mason!
Exactly like the envista, that gauge cluster and infotainment screen setup hurts my eyes. Im sorry, but i can't get over that
still not a fan of separated headlights design in any car 🤷♂
Nice video keep up the good work fellas
Thanks!
Your parking lot b rolls are appreciated, no one else does that.
Thanks!
Coming soon……1 cylinder engines 😃
The geo metros back in the day had 3 cylinders and u had to get out to push them up a hill it's ridiculous how carmakers are doing these days with a motors and transmissions
Briggs & Stratton 😂
Wish we could have Buick Encore GX in Korea. Nice Car!
Does the 1.3 engine have the rubber timing chain belt?
This is going to sale like hot cakes 🍰

I got one couple weeks ago, the mpg on the display must be wrong, cause its got down to 20.4 while driving around in the city, and that cant be right
A fine crossover but GM really needs to reconsider offering hybrids.

@@CarConfectionsso show passing a semi going 50 in 65. What’s that time?
But is it true that they stop production of buick encore?
Front looks good. Back needs some work...
Very impressive for a subcompact sport crossover! Looks like it same acceleration of Porsche Macan Turbo!😊
Now that I'm seeing more of them, the new styling ain't so bad really.
Pretty nice...
I luvvv mine except the darn Infotainment system keeps freezing!
I wish Buick will bring the minivan back to the United States as well. 🤣👌 Thanks
that digital gauge cluster is just sad...
The battery is same size as engine 🤣
Nice suv but issues I have with this car cloth seats on the base model no standard power seats no standard automatic climatic control and and the engine it’s nice just have some issues
Where do you not get these mentions in a base model elsewhere?
happy 4th of july bless USA😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I was suprised it doesnt have a garage door opener
150hp is the UPGRADE?! Wow
Looks like a dressed up old Chevy Trax
"Rip me out the plastic I've been acting brand new!"
I like it but I'm not sold on the new face. They look too much like an old Ford product. The waterfall grille was iconic to Buick.
That square screen where the gauge cluster is looks awful. There is no point to the long horizontal piece on the dash if the screens are so obviously separated and not integrated into that piece. Kia does this much much better.
Hooo no music test on this one😢
Basically it's chevy trax with buick badge 👀
That’s a FWD model not AWD. This one has the CVT transmission
😂
Certainly not your fault of course but I see a mechanical hood prop instead of an automatic one for a $35,000 car a cheap shot. Get a grip GM!

Umm, cosmetic changes only. The overall dimensions are same as the 20-23 GX.
Front seats very narrow.
Who is the older brother?
Drew is older
Sport touring and 1.3 cyl and 155 hp should never be together!! Nice looking car but imagine 3 people in summer trying to get up hills 😂😂
Umm, I don't have to 'imagine' it; last week I drove three up and down the mountains of Colorado and never had to fully ask the engine.
@@goforho7257 i imagine you’re telling the truth 😂
Wrap it in bacon, stud it with diamonds….it’s still a Buick.
I like the look but that mpg is unattractive.
Real world I'm getting 30ish city and 34 combined. With lots of AC use.
Is Buick even trying?
Buick is the best, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Too pricey for this one so ridiculous 🤔👎

You guys have the same voice 😅

The engine is just embarrassing 😂
No cars Buick? Not interested
Its made in China AND it has a Chinese face to go along with it
Nope, it's made in South Korea, not China.
@@brucekalter4206
They all look Chinese
Awful gas mileage 😫
I am a Buick person. Sorry Buick it's ugly and very cheap looking interior for a Buick.
Looks like a fat coffin
To bad this car is made in Korea.
It has always been made in Korea throughout its lifetime. Why the fuss?
